For CFA only 2 calculators are allowed: all models of HP 12c and all models of TI BA II Plus (including Profesional)! That says it all! For other exams you have to ask or look up what calculators are allowed!

HP-22 from 1975 for the WIN, my do0dz! I still use the one that used to belong to my father almost daily (he bought it in October of 1975 after passing the CPA exam so it has sentimental value to us both WHICH BY THE WAY it can calculate!) and other than multiple battery pack replacements, it still works flawlessly. I'm a huge fan of those old skool LED displays, which were a huge improvement over earlier digital readout technologies like Nixie to0bz in every way ESPECIALLY efficiency, but compared to LCDs and modern LED readouts, the type used in these 1970s-era calcs and their timeless wristwatch cousins (a very clever joke, I M SO SMRAT), they were a joke. Not a good joke or even a so-bad-it's-good dad joke, but a tasteless, awful joke that only a below average intelligence fifth grader would find funny. I think they're cool for nostalgia and rareness though. But anyway yeah, the actual brainz of the HP-22 were solid and could crunch some major numbers. The HP-2* series were designed to be the more-affordable counterparts of their higher-falutin' cousins, and they definitely delivered - plus they were small enough to actually fit in your pocket. If I were in the pimping business, I'd have the bottom beige part of the case cast in 14 carat gold and possibly have the buttons studded with diamonds or at the very least rubies or emeralds. I am very white and nerdy though so that is unlikely.

@@JohnUsp I don't think so! The BA II Plus Professional looks very cheap! It's not as solidly built as the HP 12c (Platinum)! Yes, I own both but I clearly prefer the HP 12c Platinum. Try to change batteries quickly on the BA II Plus. You need a screw driver! Not with the HP 12c whos two batteries seem to last for an eternity! The HP 12c even needs less key strokes to show the results! Hands down the HP 12c is a winner! I even like the HP 10bII+ better than the TI BA II Plus Professional (even though the BA II Plus Professional has some additional registers)!
