White Oleander is one of my all-time favorite books. I reread it every couple of years. And whenever I feel a warm/hot wind, I remember this book. It indefinitely grips you in many ways and never lets go.

Yes, White Oleander!!! I read it back in the 90s as a troubled young person and it still haunts me today. Stunning, stunning novel!

I am new and excited to read your favorites. I read White Oleander years ago, and I was obsessed with it. I also enjoyed the movie. I thought it was well acted.

I’m so glad you named Flat Share. I loved that book. And the second one Beth O’Leary wrote (The Switch). Sadly in my opinion it went downhill after that. I have created a shelf called Olive Recs and these other 4 are going to be on there. I’ve already re-read Flatshare. It might be an annual read like 84 Charing Cross Road is.

I remember loving thenorosenjn White Oleander and being blown away by the why the plot played out. Adding WACTR to my wishlist.

We Are Called To Rise is on my top 23 this year.I now really want to read The Love Scribe & The CollectedRegrets of Clover My top book of 2023 is Deluge by Stephen Markley I finished reading it via audio ( it took two months but it was so worth it!) in February.

Some good recommendations here. Also, I AM old enough to remember White Oleander and probably read it in the 90's. I did enjoy it and may have to go back for a re-read.

I would like to bring it to your attention that there was an Indian movie with exact same concept as The Flatsharers in 2002. It was called “Avunu Valliddaru Ishtapaddaru” (TL: Yes, they both like each other). I’ve always wish more ppl discovered that movie. Luckily they now do in a convoluted way. ❤❤❤
