The cars were good, the competition was fair, the game was great (I own F1 2012 on Xbox 360), and we had two different lotus teams (lotus Caterham and Lotus F1, though neither of them are the original lotus F1 team)

1. _1988-90_ | *Senna* v *Prost* rivalry; which helped boost F1 to popularity. 2. _1998_ and _2000_ | *Häkkinen* v *Schumacher* rivalry. 3. _2005-06_ | *Alonso* v *Räikkonen* (_'05_) v *Schumacher* (_'06_) - for Alonso finally ending Schumi's 5-year dominance. 4. _2007_ | *Räikkönen* v *Hamilton* v *Alonso* all fighting for the title (both Hamilton and Alonso were 1 point behind the championship). 5. _2003_ | *Schumacher* v *Räikkönen* - for Räikkonen nearly ending Schumi's 3-year dominance. N/A. _1994_ | *Schumacher* v *Senna* rivalry (what if?) Bonus. _1986_ | *Prost* v *Mansell* v *Piquet* all fighting for the title (Mansell and Piquet were 2 and 3 points behind the championship, respectively). P.S. I stopped watching F1 after _2009_.

What if? 1996: Ferrari (Schumacher / Senna) x McLaren (Häkkinen / Barrichello - he had a offer of McLaren in 1995, Senna would influence him to accept: 1995 test driver, 1996 race driver) x Williams (Hill / Villeneuve).

1986 was the most exciting season of F1 by an absolute mile.

God, I remember so good watching the 2012 season. Was the best f1 season of all time. It had all the stuff that fans could only wish

2012 is my favorite F1 season. And one of the few I was able to watch every race of the season. Hard to watch out here in the USA

+龍門陣 It was before my time but I was thinking the same. I remember when they took the picture of of the 5 drivers on the pit wall in South Korea 2010 how they kept comparing that to the famous Piquet, Mansell, Prost, Senna picture of 1986.

Danilo Albergaria well you can't blame him, he wasn't alive then.

I was pretty young watching them, but I loved the late 90's and the constant back and forth between McLaren and Ferrari. However, 2005 is without a doubt my favourite - it's the season that solidified my love for Kimi Raikkonen, and it was just drama after drama constantly, with Alonso consistently quick but Kimi's pace on another level. McLaren's poor start to the season handing Alonso a healthy lead, the scintilating Monaco pole lap, the heartbreak in the final lap at the Nurburgring, Alonso's mistake in Canada handing victory to Kimi, the farce of the six car US grand prix, Kimi fighting back through penalty after penalty for changing engines, the unreliable but blistering pace of the McLaren, THAT pass at Suzuka. It was just magical and the storyline was so, so gripping. Even if Kimi didn't win the championship, I think he won the respect of a great number of spectators and produced some unbelievable performances.

I love your top 5 lists, especially about F1. Keep up the great work!

1976, 1986, any season with a Senna-Prost Battle, 2007/2008, 2012

2012 was my first real season (im 14) and it was propably what brought me here

2008 was my favourite season, the destination of the championship was uncertain until the last corner, literally!

Great video Dre!I never saw the pre-2000 stuff, so here's mine: 1st: 2007, then 2012, 2010, 2003, and 2008.

I've been watching F1 religiously since 1998, and I would have to say 2010 was my favourite season so far

2010 the best for me. I mean, FIVE different title contenders, all of then winning races. It was special. 2012 was very enjoyable too. 2007 and 2008 are my honourable mentions. I've been following F1 since 2004.

My favorites as follows: 1996 - 2004... I must admit, I am a huge Schumacher fan and absolutely loved every moment of having seen him driving and winning for Ferrari! There you have it... ;)

2009 season was the best for me. Jenson winning, that Brawn car, those engines, refuelling and was before the tire situation went crazy

As others have said, 1986 was intense right down to the wire. Also, since most of the video focuses on close championship battles, 1984 should be on there. It was the closest ever finish with just a half point between Lauda and Prost.

Amazingly, I completely agree with you! My favourite era is 2003-2013...and I've been following F1 since 1981!

F1 live in TV started in 1991 in germany. The same year Schumacher started in the F1. That was when i started to watch every once and awhile. The more Schumi won, the more i watched. Even though i never was a huge fan of him, it was just interesting to follow him. I liked Mika Häkkinen, especially after his accident and recovery and was very happy to see him get more successful after he returned, the seasons 96-2001 and the rivalry between Ferrari and McLaren were my favorite.

Top 5 F1 Seasons for me: 1951 (Epic fight between the drivers Ferrari and Alfa Romeo for the title.) 1974 (4 drivers constantly in contention for the world championship title until the final few races of the season) 1986 (Same as 1974) 2000 (Many epic battles between the Ferrari and the McLaren drivers. Schumacher winning in Japan and winning Ferrari's first world championship after 21 years after a long hard fight with a marginally superior McLaren and Hakkinen was the icing on the cake for me) 2010 (5 drivers in contention for the title! The cars were so evenly matched it made racing very exciting)

I'm the kind of F1 fan with season reviews stacked up in my room

Can't beat Hamilton's rookie year 2007 so much energy and life pumped back into F1

2012 is my favourite season of all time too. All the different winners made it so exciting

1984. While it is mostly noted for the McLaren dominance (12 wins from 16 races), a back-and-forth championship came down to the last race. Prost had to win and Lauda finish 3rd or worse for Prost to win. As long as Lauda finished 2nd, he won. Prost qualified 2nd and took the lead. Lauda qualified 11th and clawed his way to 3rd. Late in the race, Mansell retired with a brake issue promoting Lauda to 2nd and giving him a 1-1/2 point championship win.

2007 was epic 👑💜 -Hamilton's hot rookie year toe to toe with Alonso -Round the outside of Alonso into turn 1 Australia - The Spygate -9 straight podiums -Kimi coming from behind in the last 2 races to get the championship -Hamilton's china gravel trap -Alonso and Hamilton "Anything I can do I can do better" Commercial Then Hakkinen is relaxing right above them in the sauna haha

Great list. Alonso and Hamilton going wheel-to-wheel down the main straight at Indianapolis 2007 really sticks in my mind, a real display of defiance and determination from Hamilton. Great stuff. Great choices too, 2010 is probably my personal favourite, and #2 was a pleasant surprise ;)

senna-prost seasons, 2008,1997 and 2006 must be there, too these seasons were fascinating and exciting, the last race was the final race. Amazing seasons, too(Only my opinion)

My favourite season was 2006 because of all the different winners, battles wich made the season a classic

2012 also had the most championship winning drivers participating at 6. Schumacher, Alonso, Kimi, Jenson, Lewis, and Vettel... Epic season.

Better title: 'Top 4 seasons Formula 1 seasons in my lifetime plus one I know from a film I watched'.

You missed 2009: Brawn GP... A team that nearly didn't exist, took Ross Brawn's name as a last minute decision, had the Mercedes engine as it was the only one that would fit in the chassis... Essentially the type of season you would make a movie out of.

personal choice 1995, Schumi was on fire and we could celebrate without the overshadowing we had in 1994 (Ayrton, Ratzenberger, God rest them both) 9 wins including back to back wonder drives at Spa and the Nurburgring. Plus first time wins for F1s characters Alesi and Herbert :)

Modern times they have information. Thats why I prefer in order 86, 81, 2007, 2012, 83.

2013 is a personal favorite for me

A season where it was all even until after the blowouts at Silverstone ,pirelli (pressured by rb) reverted to 2012 tyres and then Vettel won everything 🤔....that was a farce of a season....just like Ferrari complaining in 2003.

My favorite season was 2016 to see Rosberg closely battle lewis Hamilton and beat him just by 5 points

1990, 1989, 1986, 2010, 2012, 2003, 1998, 2000, 2005, 2007 The best F1 seasons ever IMHO.

You forgotten one important thing: 1976 was the last F1-Season featuring the Nordschleife.

No 1986 season? No 2008??? Well, it's Just on more Personal list and deserve respect. When you have Mansell x Senna x Piquet x Prost battle in The same arena you have more Than any other fight in F1 history forever.

The picture Vettel and Shumi is how I want to remember Him

Curious as to why Brawn's one and only year in the sport wasn't in this list. Nice photo at the end though, of Vettel and Schumacher. Hard to believe he was fit and well so short a time ago

2010 deserved 1st place for all its great battles everywhere in the field + as you mentioned, the best title fight ever.

I believe 2012 also had the most world champions in a season with 6. Schumacher, Alonso, Raikonnen, Hamilton, Button, Vettel. Pretty amazing no?

My top 3 would be: 1: 2008 2: 1999 3: 2007 There's so many other great seasons, I wouldn't know what to choose, but for sure I wouldn't choose any season from 2009 to present day

I'll just do my list for the 2000's, as it's too hard to compare pre 2000's seasons with post 2000's seasons 2012 2010 2008 2003 2007 Just missing out is 2011, for me one of the most underrated seasons in the sport

my personal favourites: 1. 2010 2. 2012 3. 2003 4. 2008 5. 2000 if I was 20 years older 1976 1982 1986 and 1989 would be in there so I would probably not be have been able to pick a top 5! 😂 must do a top 10 some time 😂

Though u are young... like me I think the best is 1958.. The all time Hero Fangio just retiring leaving a hugh hole. Then Moss, Brooks, Hawthorn and Collins went for the title with, of course A few deaths and fatal drama... then Hawthorn wins and dies too Its A mooie on itself

To me, Hunt vs. Lauda wasn't as brash as people made it out to be. Yeah they had a few on track battles but most of the time, one or the another had an issue during a GP. I have to give credit to Hunt for Japan, though. He did wrangle that underpowered (compared to Ferrari) McLaren to a pretty impressive 3rd place. But, to be honest, had Lauda not had his accident he would have taken the title by a huge margin. He didn't even participate in two GP's and still only lost by 1 point.

Simon Duffy The best pass I've ever seen was when Mika was trying to figure out how to pass Michael, and when they came upon a lapped car Michael went left and high while Mika went right and low. I almost shit my pants when that happened. I jumped up out of my chair because I didn't know if Michael would go into the turn with more speed since he went wide, or if Mika would have a better position since he's already down low and can defend the inside line through the turn. When Mika got into the turn first and won the race, I was squealing with glee because that pass was so awesome. I agree; the races listed here may be the best "modern" seasons (especially the 2003 season since I went to the U.S. Grand Prix in IndiAnapolis), but there were "classic" seasons that were way better.

Quite frankly he obviously did not research this topic ,any decent F1 fan knows about the 80s Senna/Prost Rivalry and arguably the golden age of F1, not like the unremarkable seasons his talking about!

If you were so old yourself, you should at least know the difference between "your" and "you're"

i am sorry, but when it comes to best seasons in f1 history, 2007 and 2008 must be in top 5. we've seen many great seasons, but these two deserve the highest respect. i cannot understand how can someone put seasons like 2003,2010,2012 in this category. those were somewhat tense and exciting seasons, but deep down, we knew the whole time whos gonna take it. 98,99 hakinnen-schumi battles deserve top 10, prost-senna were also great, but not as good because they were teammates. basically, it was one-team battle. it would certainly be better if they werent both driving dominant mclaren. its like ham-rosberg in merc. nothing extraordinary. '89 was something too.

My picks: 5th - 2009 4th - 2014 3rd - 1976 2nd - 2008 1st - 2007

2008? Massa was the WDC for like 20 sec. It was another close battle between McLaren and Ferrari

V12's are highly inefficient. Most teams would choose a V8 Turbo if they could. Better power to weight

it was more,the races were great,the cars looked good,Ferrari dominated with Michael Schumacher,a hungarian driver scored one point,for me this was the perfect season,way better then the last 2 season with Mercedes victories one after the other

2004 was Boring as hell. Schumacher and Ferrari was Dominating and even most of the Races were Boring

My favorite F1 season is the 1976 season

It wasnt as eventfull as anything this list but 2009 was a suprise because brawn killing 2009
