Yamaha Tenere 700:
The Yamaha Ténéré 700 is a midsize adventure/dual-sport motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha since 2019. It features a 689 cc (42.0 cu in) parallel-twin engine which powers the motorcycle through a six-speed gearbox and chain drive. Brakes are equipped with rider-switchable (on-off) ABS. The "baby Ténéré" is the latest in a series of dual-sport Yamaha motorcycles named after the Ténéré desert stage of the Dakar Rally in the Sahara. The successor to Yamaha's XT660Z Ténéré was first announced as the T7 concept at the 2016 EICMA with an anticipated production launch in 2018. A refined concept was publicized a year later.
Yamaha announced that delivery of bikes would begin in Europe in July 2019, and only the following year to the USA due to emissions and other regulatory delays. The liquid-cooled 4-stroke 8-valve DOHC engine with crossplane crankshaft was already in use and well reviewed in Yamaha's MT-07 naked and Tracer 700 sport touring bikes.
Honda CRF300L:
Balance is the key when riding any motorcycle. And we’re not talking about just balancing on two wheels: We’re talking about the balance between size, weight, power and handling that makes some bikes great-like the new Honda CRF300L. Based on our previous CRF250L, for 2021, it gets a larger engine with more torque and a whole host of chassis and suspension refinements. What you end up with is one of the best-balanced bikes ever for on- and off-road use. Perfect for weekend trail rides, it’s also among the best choices ever for commuting or urban transportation. And if you’re looking for a version with a windscreen and Dakar-inspired bodywork for a little more weather protection, make sure you check out our new CRF300L Rally.

Pre-1995 DR650 parts are harder to come by, the ‘96 up model also has some good reliability upgrades. That KLX was really tempting!

You just never know what you might find from someone in a bind..... lol, I'm not an expert on this but I know about it b/c I've been that person in a bind. Where you need some CA$H & you needed it yesterday so you pick one of your loved treasures to sell it. Ohh it hurts & I taken a beating when dumping my stuff so as we go out there try not to feel too bad about taking someone else's treasure.... Nope, tell em' you'll give it all the love it needs. Thanks for the video, peace

Yeah & since I'm generally not expert enough to determine exactly what I'm getting & b/c I'm not able to fix any big issues, it's difficult for someone like me to buy. I have to depend on "luck" to a greater degree but once I've got a car/bike or whatever I bought I find out & make it where I trust 100%. This is why when I have to sell one I take a beating b/c I have done everything to bring it up to a vehicle I trust. Thanks for the video b/c I am out looking at dual sports now. peace

@@MotorcyclesOffroad I’m still deciding… Got to take it for a spin around his property. It’s a nice bike and seems like a good deal for condition its in. Weird enough I felt a little cramped on the DR compared to my TW200 which I wasn’t expecting…

Good bike suggestions, except for the pre-96 DR 650. I made the mistake of buying one before I found out many parts are no longer available and nothing from the next generation DR (96-current) is compatible. The 1996+ DR 650 is excellent and has a huge aftermarket support as well as all parts are available and will be for many years to come. I have two of them. While owners love their older DR's it is an old bike with problems so I encourage friends to only look at the 96 and newer bikes.

Crazy enough the dr650s in Wisconsin are also around the 3k range. Unfortunately, the XT250s and klx250s have gone out of the 3k range here and are over 4k.
