Why would people purchase these extremely expensive desktop machines when people can build their own DIY CNC, mill, 3D and other machines for far less.? Ender 3 Pro v2 is $279.00 dollars and you can also purchase a laser / cnc machine for $199.99.

@@rapid13 You purchase the CNC drill separately which comes out MUCH MUCH cheaper than those expensive units. Go to Banggood.com to get the CNC drill attachment.

Shapeoko 3 looks to be the only one that can grow with you. They have extended extrusions for more workspace and improved Z axis components if that is a need. Combine that with the ability to change the spindle from the "stock" router to a dedicated water cooled spindle......

The sad thing is that they're all based on public domain technology, on the same DIY basis, but they insist on creating their own product and put their brand on, and would probably patent their 'creations' if they could. these kickstart video format looks basically the same, selling basically the same.

For what you want to do, buy a conventional machine. CNC would be a waste to make rings and glasses.

I remember when they started marketing cable tv to viewers. Pay tv means NO COMMERCIALS, say goodbye to the networks. Yeah , right. No different from the street corner drug dealers..."Pssst...have a free sample..." But I found the clip informative , though.

Boxzy is in desperate need of Boxzy 2.0. a) The power supply needs to be upgraded so it can handle those dumb NEMA23 motors they upgraded to (hint, buy an elephant, make sure you can feed an elephant). Several of my 3D prints died doing simple stuff due to that simple failing. Upgrade beyond that goddam Ultimaker board. b) As a mill, there should be some form of chip protection to keep the damn thing from dying after cutting through 100 ft of material. Nothing to keep this thing from dying in it's own dust storm. c) Laser: Adding the safety feature (laser is only active when grounded through the body of the Boxzy frame) that doubles as an electric shock hazard is a brilliant move. d) Add some reliable temperature control. I had to upgrade to an E3D V6 printer head (to avoid the stupid out of the box heater jamming on me). The temperature control this thing has is terrible (+-5 degree swing), because the single cooling fan that prevents thermal creep up the bowden extruder is the same one cooling the part. Check out their unofficial forum to see what sort of fixes people have come up for this thing, and issues that they have had. Boxzy needs an upgrade, but it has the start of something. They need to make a Boxy 2.0 that fixes all the above problems.

This has been just one big commercial for new machines and the builders looking for investors. Screw that, I'm in the market for the real thing that's available NOW.

Awesome Tech..... Reviews - Would have been a lot more informational & helpful, than 5 advertisements.... but, probably just as well because the Unnecessary & Unwanted "background music" was way too loud and distracting, to begin with.

I thought you were joking. 400$ would be a bit over priced for that.....4000$ that's ludicrous. I picked up a small 24"x24"x24" cnc for 500$ and it works great. I can put a 5th axis on for about another 100. What the hell are they thinking?

None of these machines are really affordable, it's better to get a used full size mill in comparison to the cost of these machines, the cheapest one on this list is the 4th one at 1,200$ which maybe is an ok option but it's still limited
