In "It ends with us" Lily finally left her abusive husband for her daughter because she never wanted her daughter to suffer what she had gone through The last few lines of the book were -- ((Lily is saying to her new born daughter)) "It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us. " This indicates that she has finally stopped the cycle of abuse Because Lily's mother had suffered abuse and she had suffered abuse but she won't let her daughter suffer abuse I don't know about other CoHo books because I haven't read them but I actually loved reading "It ends with us" .I literally cried when I read the last few lines.

I don't get why everyone is saying that she romanticises abusive relationships in her book...
@honeybun8823
Жыл бұрын
I mean she kinda does- well I mean I wouldn’t call it abusive, more like toxic. (Spoiler for November 9 if you care) in November 9, the guy who Fallon (I think that’s her name) ends up w is the one who set the fire to her house and caused her scars and he also talks about and obsesses over her scars constantly throughout the book, which makes it really uncomfortable and he knows too that she’s the one he burned but he still manipulates her anyways but all this stuff, aka his literal felony that scarred/traumatized her for life and his manipulation, is forgiven because his mom died or whatever even tho that had literally nothing to do w Fallon and her family, he just jumped to conclusions and set their fucking house on fire. If that ain’t a toxic relationship idk what it, oh he’s also kinda gross and constantly objectifies her.

Read all. (Spoilers) Heartbones was very summery and not cringe unlike many of her books. I loved both characters they are very unselfish and loving eventhough they dont believe in love. Also it doesnt have alot of smut like her other books.Finished in under 24h. Ugly love is just to binge at. Noth serious and u dont need to think about anything while reading. A tad boring and mike was super honest it annoyed me, and tate was so FU*KING desperate. Like he was saying Rachel his exes name and she continued. She knew he didnt love her and would never, yet she didnt give their "strangers with benefits" relationship another thought. He also said not ask about his past, yet she opened up to him like she was an open book. SHE ANNOYED ME AS HELL. Read it in 2 days. November nine is also a tad boring and repetitive. Didnt have much thought about it tbh. But the plot twist left me shocked, finished it in 2 days. Reminders of him is idk. I dont like it but i like it. I think that she is still guilty for killing scotty, and as scottys mother and father i would have never forgiven her. And also, HIS BESTFRIEND?!?!. HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR THE BOY YOU KILLED. Read it in 3 days It end with us. So repetitive. Both annoy me as hell. She lied to him, he hurt her. Tho i would have never thought he would hurt her. I finished it in 4 days. I liked it but it starts with us ruined it. NAMING THE BABY AFTER THE BROTHER HE ACCIDENTALLY KILLED AND THE MIDDLE NAME OF THE BABY IS YOUR FAV MOVIE U USED TO WATCH WITH YOUR EX. YOU DISGUST ME. LIKE OFCOURSE RYLE IS GONNA GET ANGRY ABOUT IT. I liked the side characters more than the main especially marshal.

Quick note- I don't know why is everyone so judgemental about Colleen Hoover's writing. She has NEVER EVER claimed her books to be "pure romantic" Her genres are based on tragedy, heartbreak, healing, abuse, r@pe, s3xual a$$ault etc because THAT is what she wants to bring awareness about and teach her readers a moral. I believe majority of her books that I've read have taught me something major very early in life. For eg) 1) ugly love - many claim that this was a "pointless" book but i beg to differ my opinion here. Ugly love taught us how caught up we can be in our patterns of thinking and viewing a tough situation in life. We tend to view it from only one perspective at times without looking for the possibilities. We sometimes refuse to move on from past mistakes simply because we assume that's the way it's done everywhere. This one was for miles. As of Tate, her mental strength and endurance and her fighting for this love is everything. She teaches us that dedication leads to a desired reality at some point. Yes, you cannot relate the story exactly if this ever happens in real life but you can simply relate it to different columns of your life such as career, finances, and maybe even love

I don't get why everyone is saying that she romanticises abusive relationships in her book...
@honeybun8823
