I'd like to see this revisited outside on the course (or more realistically at a driving range)

Hm, I feel like this environment wouldn't give complete results since these balls would act differently in the air from conventional balls. Or is all the illegality in the golf ball's interior, changing club impact?

Bingo, the sim won't be able you know the dimple pattern on the straight balls to see it straightening up

Wouldn't them hitting it into a simulator be changing the results? based on how'd they'd act flying through the air or bouncing on grass/turf

Its not about that. The simulator is designed to find consistency. It's the same on the simulator. Not perfect but good enough to sell for 10 grand up to 100k$

They are measuring carry, which is how far it traveled in the air before hitting the ground, so they don’t measure the bounce and roll

I would have liked to see both of you guys hit a ProV1, just to see the difference using a real, premium ball.

the only gripe i have is that the club head speed varied by up to 5mph at times from shot to shot. obviously the ball speed is going to change from ball to ball but the club head speed needs to be more consistent to get better results.

ya i was thinking the same thing, he started around 87mph then at the end almost getting to 93 94 mph club head speed.

😂 he looked super warmed up by the senior ball😂

Im 66 years old and I hit the MG's. I picked up around 8 yrds on my irons and 15 to 20 with my driver. They also putt and perform good around the greens.

Love these, they are so much fun. I've never tried those but I may buy some for a buddy of mine that is 70.

I've tried the MG and noticed a slight increase. Less spin on shorter shots.

These Balls the heavy small balls are made to be hit with Driver..... not irons..... Bandit should be #1 magma#2 MG senior #3 Kaede #4 polara distance#5 Polara straight#6 Those Heavy balls roll forever that is how they pass these other balls I have hit them all except the Kaede..... the Bandit and Magma will roll 120 yards...also the longest you don't have in there....Condor S ball.... i drive the ball 300 310 tops the condor i hit 340

I tried the ultimate straights, they do work, but not nearly as well as my ProV1's and vasoline on my driver's face.

MG used to offer the C4 which was as good as any ProV1 or any other tour ball. I heard Taylormade bought the factory where they were made and stopped producing balls for them.

That wouldn't be entirely possible. The Kaeda balls are red, and one of the polara balls has to be set down a specific direction.

The Polaris’s won’t be as far due to the self correcting. You need to hit these on course, not on simulator.

What club is Mark hitting?

Your test really should be outside on a golf course. There is two ways of looking at this test. Which balls go the furthest ( Volvik Magma, MG Senior, Kaede, Bandit, Polara XDS, Polara ult straight, )and which will help your score the most (Polara ult straight, Polara XDS, Volvik Magma, MG Senior, Kaede, Bandit)

What makes them illegal?

appreciate the testing for sure, however the information is invalid. Most of these balls dimple patterns are what makes them illegal and even the absolute best simulator would not be able to adjust for that.

Not a good test. Most of those illegal balls are designed to react differently during their flight. Problem is sim's expect the balls to act like normal balls. This test MUST happen outside!
