You're absolutely 100% correct about your prognostication regarding the incorporation of AI into the everyday work environment; I'm not a gambling guy unless it's a sure thing (which is technically not gambling). Seeing as we have no way to really improve productivity without moving forward in conjunction with AI, inductive assessment of the situation leads one to this conclusion. I not only see this happening with programmers, but it's probably the only way to expedite with accuracy parts of our government (let's say red-flagging using weighted predicate calculus and logical analysis of 5000 page omnibus bills) where gi-normously-oversized documents require review in 48 hours... legislators will require this in large elected representative republic type governments with civil liberties based on something like a constitutional Bill of Rights. So, I'll take your prediction and double-down on it as a necessary natural progression of lots of parts of our society. It's an enhancement for us if used properly, not a threat.

Thanks cool video and totally agree that AI tooling for side hustles is amazing. I also think it’s a shame to see some companies banning AI usage because it can only benefit them. I think companies that use AI will have a huge advantage over those that don’t, especially when trying to release new features really quickly. Most companies I’ve worked for have a backlog of hundreds of feature requests from customers or good ideas just sitting there that never get touched for years and years. I imagine with AI we could speed up workflows and actually start tackling those huge backlogs and bringing better features back to our customers, I mean after all that’s who we are serving and they pay our bills. But I still see such a stubborn streak in engineers to not adopt AI tooling that can improve software for their users. Hoping we will see better adoption going forward and I’m sure it will get there.

OK. I see how to enable plugins. I see how to install plugins. However, I don't seem to be able to find the Code Interpreter plugin. For that matter, I also cannot figure out how to get Prompt Perfect.

Maybe have time stamps built in that show the different topics or plugins you are talking about for better referencing? Or possibly something like this included in the description section?

Same for me. I really don't understand why OpenAI restricts access. Edit: This is from the FAQ: "The code interpreter plugin, made by OpenAI, is currently in Alpha and not widely accessible. There is no waitlist. If the code interpreter becomes available, it will show up under the "Beta features" setting."

The reason they ban it is because they don't want company secrets getting leaked. Case and point, what happened with Samsung. However, if you disable history and be careful with the information you're sharing, then you shouldn't get in trouble for it. As an example if you're building an app that manages recording booths, you can phrase it in a way that won't give out sensitive company information or plans by asking the AI to help you build an app that manages multiple art galleries or something like that. So yes, although banning these tools is extremely dumb, the more rational companies do so to prevent data leaks and would educate their employees on how to properly use these tools and then give them free reign. But the skeptics would ban them just because. If you work for a company that discourages the use of AI, you can make a case on why using it would be more beneficial than a hindrance, perhaps you could make a presentation or a workshop and show them best practices, lead the integration of AI in the company's culture and become the company's AI expert :)
