I would put the Old Forester 100 along with the wild turkey 101 at the top of this list .
Larceny is tremendous for a budget bourbon. Not much of a finish but goes down easy for a daily drinker
Now you're talking, David! Thanks for this.
Thank you David for another great video - Cheers from Sweden! 🇸🇪
Evan Williams bottle in bond is amazing perfect daily sipper .. so smooth and rich for the price paid I'd happily pay that any day 25 $ in cali
Old Grand Dad BIB is a sleeper, I love it.
Got a Buffalo Trace for $26 yesterday - just missed the cut! :)
Great pick on all of them. I totally agree that they are really good value and flavor.
Your love of Wild Turkey 101 knows no bounds.
I never get tired of the return to the basics. Early Times is phenomenal. Old Forrester Signature is also excellent.
Great list. I’m fortunate to be able to pick up OGD 114 for around $20 here in Austin (when it’s in stock), and I’ve never found a better bourbon at that price point. It’s not even a contest for me - nothing comes close for under $25. I’d say my second favorite (also it’s ALWAYS in stock) is Wild Turkey 101.
Great List -- WT101 and WT101 Rye are two of my go-to bottles with the EW BiB.
I'm not a Bourbon expert I've been a Jack Daniels fan for years... But I recently found Wild Turkey 101 and I just love it! I'm now a Bourbon drinker.
Great list! Sometimes it’s nice to remind yourself that you don’t need hype to have a good spirit. Whiskey is for everyone, and cost doesn’t equal quality
Great video David! JTS Brown is a sleeper and silly good for the money. Between that, WT101 and Early Times we want for very little in the sub-$35 realm.
The older (and better) Early Times BiB have the black plastic screw cap. The newer ones have a metal screw cap.

Have you tasted them blind side by side? I was surprised to find them both incredibly similar. The saz version was slightly more rich and actually won it for me. It really was splitting hairs though, Saz has kept it extremely close to the original!
Great list. Been drinking Bulleit lately. Larceny is also in the mix. Always have Wild Turkey 101 on hand.
I've been keeping a bottle of EW BiB on hand for a while now. I like WT 101 more, but at $17 vs $27 a fifth in VA it makes a much more affordable bottle to always have on hand for drinking neat, making cocktails or cooking with without any reservations.
Great video David!!! The only one I haven't tried is the JTS bib...but now I'm gonna😁 Cheers David!!!
Great video! I've blinded WT101 against bottles 2+ times it's value and it beats them. Could be one of the best bottles period, if you ask me.
For cheap/mixer bourbon my go to is the brown label Henry McKenna
Nearby Costco just had WT 101 HANDLES for $20, so yeah; still waiting to find ET BIB near me now that they are finally distributing to CA (even though it is the Saz version). Always enjoy your videos.
I love the Evan Williams and the wild turkey and the early times. 3 great choices. Unfortunately I can't find OGD or JTSB around here. But I keep looking. Thanks for a great video
Love this list. Two of my faves right off the rip. OGD Bonded and EW BiB are amazingly versatile spirits. Whether mixing, on the rocks or neat, I always enjoy a pour of either one.

Evan Williams BIB has been my go-to for a few years now. I get a 1.75 L here in Texas for only $26-29, and it tastes good mixed, on the rocks, and even neat 💯
Great video
I would definitely do the upgrade to O.G.D. 114 & skip the entry bottles. 114 $33 @ Total Wine Tampa. The extra proof really gets the party going.
Great video brother 👍 another budget Bourbons I like is Old Tub for $19 it's really good for the price

Have compared the old early times with the new? Love your videos!! N
Hey man I love that you promote coopers craft 100. I bought it online because it’s not in Texas yet. I wish it was its really good!
I haven't heard good things about the newest Early Times bottled in bond (from Sazerac). Plus it's still extremely hard to find a bottle in my area with a number of retailers jacking the price.
1:19 Good stuff - and so's the 114, though that was out of stock here for *months* . 2:42 That and the OGD are my two BiB mainstays. 4:22 I've never seen that stuff here, alas. 5:52 The Turkey is good too. I nearly bought a bottle today, but wound up going with the Evan Williams bottled in bond, for a little bit less. 🙂 7:38 And I can't find the Early Times bonded either. It is *weird* how the three tier system handles distribution.
OGD bonded is a real gem, generally placed on the bottom shelf in liquor stores. What a shame, as it is better than quite a few bourbons that cost a lot more.
Wild Turkey is ok to me. No issues but I don’t love it like so many do.
The only thing available around here is the EWBIB and WT101 and the WT101 is just over $25. I like the EWBIB for the price point and WT101 is good. I do however like OF86 better than the WT101. What surprises me is that I like OF86 better than it's counterpart OF100, WT101 and regular WT but I like both the WT products better than OF100.
I dont see Early Times BiB in FL at all

Hard to find in the Chicago area too.
Have a bottles, but have not tried OGD or ET BiB. The EW is a great value. WT 101 is my cooking and mixing bourbon.

If you can find it get a bottle of early times. It's good. Agree on ewbib
please do that wild turkey vid ! lol
Wooo
I didn't really like any of the Evan Williams I've tried. The BiB was a big disappointment. Just something about it I don't like. But, that's just me. Honestly, I didn't like Ezra Brooks at first but it grew on me. Probably not going to purchase a bottle of either product again. I'll stick with Wild Turkey.
Those are all great but I don’t think they’d ever be on my regular rotation as long as I have things like 1792 Full Proof, JD SBBP, rare breed etc. I just don’t drink enough to be worried about needing mass quantities of a budget bourbon. I do keep WT101 for mixing and for guests that might be new until I know they’ll appreciate some RB or GTS. And let’s be honest if you’re into the “hobby” enough to be watching great channels like yours you probably have lots of non budget bourbons.

100% this. I have bought a fair number of budget bottles with the thought of having them on hand for a more frequent sipper but I drink half the days of the week if that so when I do I almost always pick something tastier and more premium and the budget bottles sit on my shelf open for a long time

I still drink cheaper stuff so that when I go back to the better stuff it still tastes special. On some occasions the lower priced stuff actually tastes perfectly fine.

@@xiamengbaby Spot on.
The Early Times, and Wild Turkey 101 are staples in my cabinet. I am not a fan of the Old Grand Dad. It has a funky finish I am not fond of. Under $25 I would put Old Forrester 100 near the top of my list.
How close is JTS Brown to Evan Williams BIB?

I was wondering that also seeing that they're both Heaven Hill products.
Two weeks ago you said your wife killed the ec 18 year I look on your shelf and see you must have gotten new bottle already.
Lets go. Us poors are multiplying quickly in todays world.
David, thanks for these videos makes buy bourbon easy. Question, I have $50 and looking for a good bourbon or whiskey what do I buy?

Rare Breed is my go to for around $50.

I’d be seeking out a store pick for $50, especially the 9-10 year Elijah Craig small batch picks (usually run $37.99 here)

As a bourbon collector why do you all buy multiple bottles of the same product? Is it a price thing, a stock thing or what? Curious to know, thanks!

Price and avalaibility. There's no guarantee you'll find it at the same price ever again.
Old Grand Dad BIB didnt agree with me at all. No matter how i tried it made my chest hurt like crazy. Imagine being on the floor and somebody standing on your chest is how it felt.

That's quite dramatic. I'd hate to see what would happen to you if you tried OGD 114!
You can get even williams singke battle for 32 bucks no way am I picking up the bottled in bond if 30 bucks so let's hope they don't go up 5 bucks

EW BIB is under $20 and and 1.75 ltr is about $35 by me in the Chicago area. EW single barrel is only 86 proof which tastes kind of watery. Would be so much better at 95 proof or more.
I'm not a fan of the Bird 101 but their Rare Breed is superb.
Six months later and the economy isnt doing any better...
