This was a great reminder that I need to continue on with the Winternight Trilogy! And The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a solid pick. Loved that book!

Glad to see Robin Hobb and Ken Liu in your top books so far this year! Fool's Fate was my favorite of the Tawny Man trilogy, and I still need to continue the Dandelion Dynasty after finishing The Wall of Storms. Yessss! The Girl in the Tower! I love the Winternight trilogy so much, so I am happy to see it so highly and am excited to see how you enjoy The Winter of the Witch.

Ken Liu and Robin Hobb deserve the love! I definitely should give The Winternight trilogy a read!

My two top favorite books so far has to be «The Veiled Throne» by Ken Liu & «The Winter King» by Bernard Cornwell, followed by (in no particular order): «The Farthest Shore» by Ursula K. Le Guin, «The Winter Road» by Adrian Selby, «Salammbo» by Gustave Flaubert, «The Retreat to Avalon» by Sean Poage and «The Way of Edan» by Philip Chase! 😃 Special mention to: >Bind 1# of the Norse Saga «Flatøybok» (Gorgeous leather-bound edition and illustrated by the simply brilliant Anders Kvåle Rue!) >«The Little Emperors» by Alfred Duggan (Love very dry British humor on politics and bureaucracy (so many great quotes!), and excellent description of how (possibly) Roman Britain fell!)

Fun video, with good recs. I have some unrelated questions that I didn't know where else to ask: With your background and the name of your channel, do you have a preference for Nordic/Viking inspired fantasy? You don't mention that very much (especially compared to sprayed edges 😀). Have you read many? Are they done well (in the eyes of a Viking such as yourself)? Do you have recommendations for that subgenre?

Not gonna call a winner but I am beyond green with envy you got to see Ocean at the End of the Lane. Would love to see that show!

My favorite read so far is The Fires of Heaven by Robert Jordan. It had me sobbing. I'm completely addicted to this series now. I started in March and I haven't stopped, currently reading book 7.

As a Christian person, I didn't like the way Christians got represented in The Bear and the Nightingale. 😔 I enjoyed the atmosphere and I read it last December, but that issue was a big no for me...

You should really try reading more sci-fi.
