Best survival knife I got is a sog super bowie. It's not that popular I guess. I can't find any video or reviews on it.

Great group of knives. The cold steel one is an outdoor knife not a survival knife as those come with firestarter and other things that if you lose everything you have a basic ability with the items to catch food and start a fire and with the blade build and probably 5050 cord build a shelter. But myself I would consider the marauder because for me a knife is for cutting and clearly it can cut. Not sure if you did one about best outdoor boots if not I be interested in one.

I'd like the marauder if I were getting attacked by a loaf of bread. LOL :-)

If they kept the marauder 1/3 starting from the tip serrated and the other 2/3 straight edge, it would be a hell of a lot more user friendly.

Serrated means slice off your appendages. Agree about the bread loaf. Also, Milton Waddams was looking a bit frazzled trying to wield that bread cutter. Not for me. I do like the Gerber (Fiskars).

Eh, the only one I would consider is the marauder, but the serrated edge killed that deal.

I have a Schrade model 26 survival knife which I got some years ago and I have that knife on my utility belt and it is a great knife and the only problem I have with it is that it is made in China. I have other knives which is American made and they are in my collection at home.

The cold steel maurader is not a "survival" knife, it's a fighting knife, there's a difference 😐.

I can see using it as an outdoor knife. It doesn't meet the requirements as a survival knife because those would contain basic things like a way to start a fire, fishing line,needles, fish hooks depending on the type. It does fit a bit for outdoor usage.

A gas chainsaw drill bits and screws and windows and drills makes a good log cabin

Gerber makes great knives but rape whistle is a not my demographic. Cold steel, how do I sharpen a serrated edge? I was all about it until I found out it was full serrated.

I was thinking the same thing That was the most hideously impractical knife I've ever seen because as soon those tiny teeth dull it's basically a paperweight unless you want to spend hours with a tiny file

It would have been helpful at the beginning to define what YOU mean by a "survival knife". Just to get all on the same page. As it turns out, one is not sure what you are comparing, if anything. So, in the end it comes down to several commercials strung together, with little by way of performance data or exact specifications. Or what one one is supposed to do with them. Assuming that everyone has the same understanding as you do, could lead to someone looking foolish. That includes me. It is more helpful to know what the video is trying to put across, for better understanding of the message.

Bark river , Lionsteel, tops ,essee, flakniven. All better than any of these. Coldsteel and moras have allot of fanboys but theyre budget knives.

As soon as I see a Schrade or a Gerber Bear Grylls piece of junk (and yes that Gerber knife is a Bear Grylls except its Branded as "just Gerber"in any "best" knife list I no longer take that video seriously. Cold Steel Maurader is not a survival knife at all, the UST knife at the start is over priced crap n the Mora is a great knife but not a "Top 5 best survival knife". I wouldn't have any of these in my Top 50 maybe except the Mora.

Do not baton or chop with your knife ever. I find that having an older style knife works for me. I like a softer steel Is nice because it sharpens nicer and easier. One more thing, carry a lighter. Bushcraft is Almost completely useless for survival.

Come on, this is just an Amazon sale list video like so many other "top 10 best whatever" videos. You want best gear, you won't find it on Amazon. My Carothers HDFK, my ESEE Junglas, my Fiddleback Forge machete, and my Bark River Ultralight Bushcrafter will take a Pepsi challenge with any of these all day. Even on a budget, I can come up with 10+ knives better than these. Mora and Schrade ones are decent, the rest I'd give away if I had them. Cold Steel has much better "survival" blades than whatever that was, and so do Ontario, Kabar, Condor etc.

If you really want a survival knife then take a look at Jääkäripuukko from Finland. There's a pretty funny video from Dutch bushcraft knives about it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iq54pJuMnrHWftY.html

jääkäri knife have more knife copy only. expensive copy, good mora cost 10€ no need more survive,work,tools, forest,travell,fly, anywere.
