i think you will highly enjoy making a video about the philosophy genshin used to create characters pre-lunch to after-lunch. characters that were released with the game were made with the idea of being able to be played on-field first and off-field later (look at beidu, fish c1, xinling c1/c2, sucrose c4, bennet skill, venti c1 and more) while the newer characters are refined to the point of being able to do only 1 thing - characters created for being play in ony 1 way in 1 or 2 specific teams (all the 4* after xinyan and diona)

i love how zhongli's rating on defense is so absurdly high its literally just "LOL" instead of out of 5

It'll be interesting to revisit this topic again in the future after dendro comes out. Since an entirely new element with lots of reactions has huge potential to shake the meta, I wonder who Vars will consider top 5 at the end of 3.x versions.

I think it'll make zhongli the best unit in the game since dendro seems to be unable to swirl, meaning zhongli get a spot in dendro hypercarry teams. Also bennett might trigger burning, so teams that use the new catalyze reaction may not want him since they could easily turn in to overload comps if Bennet accidentally hits an enemy with drndro on them.

Sucrose HAD TO BE an honorable mention at least. Her EM sharing, having access to TToDS (which is cheapest weapon to get and on Sucrose you don’t even have to level it), having access to VV set, decent crowd control, elemental damage boost at C6, needing literally 0 investment in her talents to get her going - she almost as good as C0 Kazuha and in some cases might be even better.

This 100%. She doesn't even need C6 tbh, she's already better than Kazuha in some teams at C0 and C1 is really the only one I'd actively hunt for, maybe C2 as well.

@@nonagon7385 definitely. C6 makes her competitive with C0 Kazuha in, say, freeze and mono-elemental teams, but for reaction teams C0 is good enough and C1 makes her exceptionally good. Her C4 is also really nice for taser team, but probably for taser team only.

I disagree that Bennett is only good for his attack buff. Yes, he provides an attack buff, but if that was all he did, he would just be a generalized Kujou Sara. The reason he's so good is because he provides a wide variety of functions: Cleansing, pyro infusion for anemo characters, buffing, healing, batterying, and shieldbreaking.

Bennet's healing is often enough to facetank with good investment, as you want to ult off cooldown. Also best pyro battery and arguably best electro abyss shield breaker.

The bennett xiangling core is enough of a reason alone for him being the best support in he game lmao

This support video is more controversial than the DPS one didn't expected that. this game is very easy after you play for a long time, so don't fight for who is better in the meta just play your favorite character. Also they're gonna release alot of characters in future so your favorite character will get powercreeped over time in one way or two anyway, also this list is Vars's opinion so don't take it as absolute.

Since genshin developers have a 10 years plan for the game already, they'll continue to add new good supports and DPS. Eventually they even might even add new elements dendro doesn't swirl anemo so no dendro VV shed so there is that. all old characters in few years will get powercreeped in a few combos like shenhe is the best cyro DPS support even better than bennett and kazuha in buffing that specific element. but kazuha and bennett and other characters in this list will always be solid options no matter how many units are added in the game, they might not always be the best but they'll always be viable

Zhongli is a comfort character that whenever I don't have him in the team, it just feel awkward like team 2 of Spiral Abyss. I built him purely as shield bot with with full HP artifacts set and he does his job well. Since he's also a tall male character, he can dash faster and further in exploration. Best husbando I've ever had 😄

Even when you build Zhongli for burst DPS, his shield is still more than enough to stand up against the hardest hits in the game. With just 1 HP sands and a deathmatch on him, he still hits 38k HP which is close to the 40k minimal mark most shield bots builds try to hit.

Geo daddy is too iconic for me to replace, he was the first 5 star limited character I pulled after qiqi. so he'll never leave my team and he's provides more than enough to justify his placement in most of teams combs anyway, Specially with bow and catalyst user characters he's a must have even if he is not the best option in all the situations, I like him enough to put in every team I use lol.

It's also worth mentioning that Bennett's E is also pretty damn ridiculous. His Q is self-explanatory, yes, but Bennett's E is super-spammable, generates a lot of energy, and is overall pretty damn reliable in supporting Pyro DPSes like Xiangling and Hu Tao.

@@masajus1 its surprisingly not. If you dont need him for the other half and you dont run Homa his damage boost is better than the bonus she gets for being under 50% hp. He also acts as a second pyro for VV shred.

@@masajus1 It's not though? He is a Pyro source for VV shred, and even when Hu Tao is equipped with Homa, you can still use his burst to help her oneshot bosses with her Q at low health. Without Homa, he always ekes out better than leaving her at low health as well.

@@Maeda_Toshiie He's a great shieldbreaker in general yeah. 4 pc TF Bennett is even the second best Electro Lector breaker following Jean-Bennett Sunfire.

It seems few people are salty about zhongli being in the list, zhongli has issues for being a geo since he doesn't have any elemental reaction besides crystallize. he have to solely rely on raw geo damage which can result DPS loss. but for a casual genshin player which is probably the majority. he's probably the most comfortable unit to use since you don't have to dodge at all, and can spam all your skills for more consistent damage output. and let's be honest not everyone learns all the attack patterns of every boss in the game.

Lol zhongli is a good support purely on the basis of his shield which has a longer duration than CD, not to mention his burst can freeze enemies effectively. This makes him a versatile support, on the same levels as Bennett and kazuha who fit basically everywhere. Idk why people are so pissed off by this

@@ghotifish1838 He is definitely not on the same level as bennett and kazuha. Bennett can heal very quickly and give a HUGE attack buff. Kazuha can crowd control very easily, as well as giving a very good elemental damage buff and VV shred, along with his own good personal damage. Zhongli only provides an unbreakable shield and a small resistance shred, and him being geo hurts his versatility especially in freeze and many reaction comps. He can easily be replaced by other characters who have more utility/deal more damage. The only teams where he is optimal are melt ganyu and yoimiya, because dodging can screw up your rotations.

burst dps is more a lot of hits for great dmg in a short time not ultimate usage while Nuke is a 1 huge hit. Xiangling is also a great support due to her pyro application being such a staple for way too many teams.

you forgot about venti's a4 passive which effectively makes is burst cost 45 and refunds 15 energy for element infused for that element part member

@@cybergamer__ Well he says he forgot about the passive. But even that doesn't change the bursts since any enemy heavy enough walks right out of it and he can't really do anything about that. So I say lazy god, he does the one thing super well better than everyone, but if it's not applicable for a situation in true Venti fashion he'll shrug his shoulders and go for a drink.

Personally I think Fischl diserves a spot, we may not notice, but the entire Taser archetype is held by her, she is simple but VERY effective

@@coricos9849 Yelan and Xinqgui are supports though, who are also happen to be sub-dps. While their damage is nice, their biggest value is in enabling team’s dps/driver to deal more damage via reactions + providing some extra survivability/damage boost. Fischl is kind of in the same boat: she can deal decent damage, but her ability to proc TotM set reliably and her battery capabilities are what valuable about her. Though I’d say Fischl’s personal damage is more important than XQ/Yelan.

C0 or C6? As her carrying at C0 is very hard. The rotations feel off, tons of dps loss, etc. Etc. She main roles as a sub dps/battery. The supports shown in the video had more than that. Diona - healing, Em bonus, shield Zhongli - shred, shield, petrification Bennett - heal, cleanse, buff Xinqui - heal, dmg resist, hydro res shred, hydro app, resistance to interruption Yelan - hydro app, buff ( i consider her not a support but as a same case of fischl thats a sub dps) Kazuha - reliable CC, elemental buff, off field dmg + elemental absorption, shield breaker

Bennett being ranked 2 stars for damage is funny, because he is legitimately one of the strongest pyro dps characters when built for it, along with his burst being a strong nuke, but the community collectively ignores that because his support capabilities are also extremely powerful

I think he rated him that way because of that line about "hard to gear for DPS", which isn't really true. He's no harder than most other characters. It is mostly just a matter of if you are willing to trade off healing power for more damage from him.

Xingqiu does not need that much ER like you said at 9:36 (230-250%) esp on raiden national, which is why more offensive weapons is like lions roar > sac in raiden national. A sac sword Xingqiu with only the er stats (around 160%) from the sword is enough to self sustain himself.

It depends less on comp and moreso on your consts. Pre-C6 without Raiden or any other battery he'll need like 220%+ while with C6 energy restore he only needs like 170~180% which is very significant. Double Hydro Yelan or Raiden can go even lower but you probably won't lose much from keeping his ER that high anyway since he usually runs 4pc Emblem.

I would put kokomi in there as an alternate zhongli with no stagger resistance but with great heals, ability to hold ttds and milelith, aoe hydro application with 100% uptime(if you know what you are doing) and with dendro....bloom any damage dealt by the flower thingy is mitigated or outright neutralized. For off field aoe hydro application, shes uncontested.

I always viewed "Off-field DPS" and "Support" to be 2 separate roles: "Off-field DPS" means just that -- does the character have a move that can attack while off-field and can fuel reactions? I view "Support" to be anything that increases damage by other means without actually attacking an enemy. This includes buffing a stat, debuffing enemy res, crowd control, and shielding/damage reductions (because you can focus on attacking instead of dodging). Also, Kazuha's best weapon is arguably Favonius Sword (even over Freedom Sworn imo). He wants energy recharge to spam his burst and given he's usually a solo anemo unit on the team, he sorely needs that recharge because no one can battery him. And of course, you can redirect artifact stats away from recharge towards em with this weapon.

Another thing, despite ZL slowly losing his relevance in the meta, putting ZL into a mono element team comps is criminally underrated. Imagine getting free 20% def shred, 35% dmg bonus from 4pc Petra and literally unlimited shield. Mono Element Teams Comps without healers such as Raiden, Yae and Sara is ZL's paradise.

Or even better: Tao double hydro. 40% def shred that only loses 10% of it's shred value below 0 unlike vv that loses 15%, 4pc petra gives a bit more and lasts a bit longer than kazoo buff (who can't double swirl in the team anyway), shield is much more useful for the team than gather cc, and he even has a window for his meteor to fall without resulting in a damage loss. Literally the best tao team as of now, and we all know how much meta she is to this day...

Yes surely Archaic Zhongli is better than Kazuha in a mono team… He isnt criminally underrated in mono teams, his Defense shred is good for dual element teams, as you dont need to double swirl

Tbh I think you should had split the support and sub-dps, you gave to much priority to support over dmg with on spiral abbys is the most important thing. I had built support first over sub-dps on my account and was only able to 36* after I raised Xialing, and started using national team. That just show how important she is. I have Kazuha, Zhongli, Diona, Bennet, Venti and many other support builded, and can say that without a team of sub-dps is impossible for f2p to 36* if you are a casual or without super luck on artifacts. (I take an average to 3 months to build a single character, talents, levels, Weapon and artifacts).

Definitely into the elemental burst video. Also I think it would be cool to see updates on characters who you made “why no one plays” videos on, in case the meta changes in their favor, like what happened with kokomi

zhongli always scores the highest dmg in my abyss 100k lmao ( sometimes mona ) got him accidentally at early pity, but now he never leaves my team and really cheap to build :D

I doubt he scores the highest damage. The biggest hit, maybe, but that's the difference between Damage Per Screenshot and the DPS that matters for non-youtubers: Damage Per Second. Problem with Zhongli's burst is that it has a long animation, so it has a higher opportunity cost than many other moves, and consequently, its effective net gain in overall team damage is lower than it appears. That said, the long animation can let you some nasty things, the petrifaction means you can go to town afterwards uninterrupted, the big number is satisfying to see, and it looks sweet.

@@Axterix13 yeah, i know... i played him with xiao ( he did 75-80k per plunge ) but the one that gets displayed on abyss review is the highest dmg (which here zhongli and mona usually scores 100k ) :D but aside from his long animation burst, i think its better than dodging ( its also dps loss ) you can brute forced it without worrying on getting hit ( especially for all the flakes-like character; xiao ) my build is just so random ( 4 pcs emblem, 170% er, 60/160 cr cdm, 35k hp and no geo dmg goblet ) it helps alot for kind of casual player like me ( i love meta but not that i really think about it )

i love that you gave geo dad a defense rating of "LOL". and that rate the burst idea sounds interesting

I think sucrose should've been in the honorable mentions instead of diona considering she's a slightly different, but just as strong version of kazuha. On a different note though, an elemental burst tierlist would be really fun to watch.

@@mintsugas Zhongli’s biggest value comes from resistance reduction and geo resonance though. Diona is valuable on some teams, but not as much and definitely not to an extent of Sucrose who is cheap (need literally 0 investment besides leveling and getting VV set) and is extremely valuable in every reaction-based teams (and even some non-reaction based, like being an okay battery for Xiao)

@@anyanP really? I wouldve thought his biggest value comes from his shielding and well i never said sucrose shouldn't be mentioned, I said both diona and sucrose should be there. Diona can fit into any team that needs healing and shielding and I've managed to do every content in the game without zhongli thanks to the little cat shielder :)) also diona is extremely cheap too, just 4p noblesse full HP and sac or fav bow

Zhongli is worth putting on this list because of the simple fact that he can permashield characters. Yes he can be a huge dps loss in spiral abyss but being a support doesn't just mean increasing the damage of your team, it also means letting them survive long enough to deal their damage. It's sad really that spiral abyss is the only benchmark for what is meta because at the end of the day it's just a dps race, and this sidelines a lot of supports especially healers simply because they don't contribute enough to damage. And even then Zhongli is so good that he's still worth bringing into spiral abyss.

Ngl Diona is such a good unit while being in the middle of the meta, imo atleast

Kazuha having a craftable 4* makes him pretty low cost, also getting em sands/goblet/circlet doesn't make it harder to get since it has a similar drop rate as atk%, x dmg bonus and crit Edit: my bad, I forgot mhy hates em and made it the least common drop for VV, so I guess it does make him slightly more expensive but instead you don't need to get good roles on it do it so it kinda balances it out

Not similar, actually. Em hat has 3% chance drop rate, lower than any crit hat. That being said, he doesn't really care about substats all that much so the first hat you get is usually the last one.

I feel like you forgot about a big part of Yelan's kit, her ramping damage buff. It adds so much to her and other units that it may be the best ascension talent in the game (other than Kazuha's).

Kazuha's best weapon (outside of freedom sworn) is actually favonius sword for energy regeneration because using his burst consistently on cooldown is more dps than not having his burst active. That's why iron sting is not good if you don't have enough ER and you do need a lot of ER for him since he is usually the only anemo unit in the team. Edit: for Xingqiu, you shouldn't need 230% ER in Raiden national. Or else what's even the point of having Raiden

yeah I was a bit confused, I run 180 ER on him and i literally ALWAYS have his burst. Xiangling is in my case the one who needs up around 200 ER to constantly spam her burst

I used to use iron sting on him and I never had my burst up even on raiden teams, I switched to fav and he feels way better imo, burst is always up and he batteries the team

It’s pretty obvious why Shenhe didn’t make it, but she’s amazing at her niche of increasing her party’s cryo damage, especially with someone like ayaka

Think kokomi should've been on here, amazing hydro application, especially for freeze, she can run thrilling and tenacity for buffs, and she heals a crap ton, which might no seem to relevant but it's really helpful.

She just straight up does more damage off field and can distract making applying omen and attack buff rotations much less painful than people often sell imo.

10:05 Bennett + anemo absorb burst can apply pyro while providing cc from characters like sucrose and venti, though bennett by himself isn't able to apply pyro like xiangling can

Its funny watching the comment section argue about ER requirements and what weapon is best for Kazuha if you don't have freedom sword. Even though ER is the stat that fluctuates the most in how much you need of it as there are so many factors that determine how much you'd need in any given situation, so building a very specific amount of it can very often be overkill. This is also aside from the fact that as long as you are using any of the theory crafted team comps like national, taser, freeze, melt, vape, etc you'll clear all content so easily that having 100% burst up time is never actually required as nothing in the game is that difficult to the point of needing it. You can always just do an extra skill proc if you are a little short on ER and still be perfectly fine.

A couple of things Bennett: He also generates a lot of energy with his short CD E which is necessary to battery Xiangling. The fixed nature of his Q doesn’t particularly matter to characters that can snapshot which comprise a lot of the teams that he uses. Xingqiu: You don’t need EM on him since if he’s triggering the reaction instead of your carry, you’ve done something horribly wrong to get to that point unless you’re going for a Xingqiu one-shot build. He’s the glue that makes vape teams work. Yelan: She’s a side grade to Xingqiu depending on the amount of hydro you need. Of course the best option would be to run them both together for double hydro core which is extremely powerful right now. Zhongli: In terms of increasing team damage, he only raises the ceiling for mono geo and Xiao (other anemo carry teams). Elemental teams prefer anemo VV to raise their ceiling since each unit provide an additional effect on top of shredding more elemental resistance (Venti for best crowd control + energy generation, Kazuha for elemental damage bonus, Sucrose for EM share + TTDS). He’s a strong comfort pick, but never the strongest option for damage. His Q is also an overall dps loss with its very long animation unless you have C2 which is a big ask. He’s a great comfort pick. If you’re already comfortably clearing abyss, he won’t make you go faster, but you’ll have to think less. Kazuha: Great unit, but bringing out his full potential requires work since his greatest strength is the ability to swirl and give his bonus to two elements which requires some understanding of elemental gauge theory and how swirl works.

Side note: Zhongli: despite what you thing, Zhongli doesn't contribute much to mono geo, as there aren't a lot of enemies that resist geo, and even if they are, only a miniscule amount of 15%, which can be easily reduce by geo resonance, and under 0%, the affect of lowering resistance is cut by half. You can see plenty of video about geo team, and they all equally say that the core of geo is Itto/Gorou/Albedo and flex slot. Kazuha: Kazuha can swirl as many elements as you can, but of course that is only for style point, there ain't many team that use 3 different elements beside Anemo, so usually you can only swirl two, but he definitely can buff 4 other elements.

just saying, for kazuh, theory crafters found out that running favonius(and sac) on him can help fulfil his er requirements for and lets you focus if more em sunstats, overall resulting in a more well rounded build

If you’re going to lump Yelan into the list on the back of XQ then you should have mentioned Sucrose while doing Kazuha, although she deserves her own spot as the premiere taser driver. However with no xiangling you could have dropped Yelan or Zhongli…XL is super broken and will let newer players clear abyss easier. Arguably the best Pyro AoE dps in the game while being off field but didn’t earn a spot hmm.

Sucrose not being here says how shes subestimed

there are some things i disagree with or that are just kinda wrong: first, bennett has A LOT more usecases than just his atk bonus: 1. his skill has a low cooldown and no icd, making shieldbreaking very easy. 2. both his skill and burst apply 2 units of pyro, which is the entire reason some teams like childe international or ganyu freeze work. 3. hes one of, if not hte best pyro battery, without him, youd have to run xiangling with >300 er, which is just awful. kazuha dealing less dmg than venti is also wrong, he overall has the same amount if not more swirls than venti, and since building full em on both is pretty much always the way to go, the swirls do massive dmg, so kazuha deals around equal dmg to venti. for yelan, i think you didnt mention her a4 passive which is a huge reason why shes competitive to xingqui. as for honorable mentions, sucrose is BY FAR the best 4 star anemo unit, even outscaling a c0 or c1 kazuha in many reaction reliant teams, so she definetely shouldve been in there. overall though, i think this is a good list for players who actually have a live and dont spent half of their day theorycrafting stuff. a little bit more research coulve gone into some stuff, but i think unless like you REALLY care about min maxing, this is a solid video. ALSO DONT USE IRON STINK ON KAZUHA FAV IS 1000% BETTER UNLESS YOU HAVE 160-200 ER PURELY ON SUBSTATS

The energy requirements told to you by genshin tubers are all numbers that are for the absolute worst case scenario. Most of the time you will need no where close to that much ER. Number of enemies, team member ER, artifact subs, domain floor effects, etc highly mitigate any need for those ER numbers, and running the fav weapon will just flat out lower your overall EM. Furthermore the content isn't difficult to begin with so you don't need 100% optimal rotations to clear a floor with good time, so if you have to wait a second to proc one more skill its not a big deal.

I don't really like how people look down on Venti when he doesn't 100% trivialize content. He is still better built with att and crit giving his dmg % and refunds energy. its not like he got any weaker he just won't pick up an enemy thats too slow to move out the way. i wouldn't say this video is quite solid he kinda leaves out important info about characters that really pushes them over the edge.

This game has way more support than DPS currently. too many good supports to fit in top 5, honestly depends on the team your playing. Sometime when you have enough DPS you go for a shield or healer for comfort even if it's a minor damage lost. I wish it was a top 10 video so people won't rage out if there favorite support isn't here.

the thing is there's generally only one spot on a team for dps and the rest go to support. it kind of makes sense to have more support characters than dps

#1 - Kazuha #2 - Bennett #3 - Yelan/XQ #4 - XQ/Yelan #5 - Zhongli You can stack ATK% way easier than elemental damage (TTDS, 4NO, etc), you run XQ/Yelan depending on your needs (comfort vs. damage) or teams (Hu Tao prefers either XQ or both) and Zhongli is basically a giant “I have skill issues” flag (There’s no shame in wanting comfort/being casual but he really isn’t a must-include outside of _maybe_ Meltyu)🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️

Honestly i love dodging and iframing but yoimiya feels like she needs someone like zhongli sometimes (I totally believe in waifu over meta and I really love yoi, it's just hard doing more than 2 attack strings without dashing unless you have zhongli)

well made video! I would, however, like to add that there are many supports in Genshin, and restricting the options into 5 (or seven if you count the honourable mentions) slots would not shine upon some of the characters that would just be considered great. Personally, Fischl, Rosaria, Sucrose, and possibly Albedo would be contenders for top 5 or honourable mentions. Fischl is a great universal battery + sub-dps. Rosaria's crit passive bonus + sub-dps potential is heavily slept on. Sucrose is very important to Taser teams, and in some cases she is preferable to Kazuha. Albedo is a great sub-dps (especially when paired with Zhongli) and grants a nice elemental mastery bonus when his ult is used. Point is, many characters could fit the "top criteria." I look forward to seeing more of your content, though. :]

Honestly, make a top 10 list. I think you absolutely cant mention XQ/Yelan, while not mentioning Sucrose in comparison with Kazuha. Furthermore, you forgot to add that venti recharges 15 energy for himself, and everyone who has the element he swirls first. Additionaly, Mona and even Raiden could outpreform (or at least contest) Yelan. But for sure, Sucrose deserves that last spot on the list more than Yelan. ... and did we mention Kokomi / Shenhe? As I said, a top 10 list might be more fitting than a top 5. But maybe wait with that top10 list until we are a few versions into Sumeru.

I agree with Sucrose, Venti, and Kokomi being in the list, but Mona and Shenhe are too niche (the former only optimal in Freeze comps and damage per screenshot showcases, the latter only in Cryo comps), and Raiden is usually a DPS.

swirl isnt exactly the directly most effected by EM stat, its still same % increase for all transformitive reactions. its just the one that gets alot of hits in groups making it feel like it gets more, like in the electro charged swirls, its multi hitting, potentiolly even triggering electro charge on enemys again based on the person who swirled

At first I regretted upgrading Bennet to C6. But all that did was give me a clear path in which team comps he is better suited. And this helped me crystallize 2 good Spiral Abyss teams, instead 2 so or so teams where I could never decide where Bennet should belong to. In a sense his C6 forced me to pay more attention to other supporters.

If I had a favorite support, I would've probably put Zhongli at the top but after getting Yelan and bump Noelle per slash to 40K+ my decision had been swayed alot.

Probably because he's the most comfortable unit in the game. you can either go for the maximum damage or sacrifice a slot for zhongli to keep up consistent damage without knock back. his E after crowning can tank almost all attacks in the game unless it's rifthounds and he can also shed resistance and petrify enemies. Also most casual players aren't that skilled and most have hard time surviving in Abyss so they usually use shielders or healers so survive in abyss. and zhongli is the best shielder in game and one of the most used characters in abyss so he should be on the list.

@@tomatozombie135 defense is a supportive capability, unless you want to subcategorize supporters into “offensive supporters” and “defensive supporters” Also, shields do add an offensive capability: not having to dodge Dodging doesn’t just avoid damage, it resets combo, make you lose on dps time and consume stamina, which can be very detrimental to characters like hu tao, and this is supposing you can dodge 100% of the attacks, which is a skill the average player usually hasn’t Shielding removes all those disadvantage, effectively improving the damage So, even if you remove Zhongli resistance shred, he does give you the capability to focus exclusively on offence An example is Yoimiya: you want to complete her na combo for optimal dps, but it’s nearly impossible to do that coz you either have to dodge, which interrupts you, or you take damage, which interrupts you Zhongli nullifies this problem Yes, I would call this “defensive support”, but this tierlist isn’t going to this level of specifics, so it’s correct to call him a support and to say he is an excellent one

Kazuha's best weapon is actual favonious sword. You won't have as much em but you'll have his burst 100% of the time which is more useful. Em time piece goblet and crown while rare you don't need to worry about the substats tbh, you really only need to worry about crit rate substats but you only need about 20%-40% not 50% cause you can just use autos until fav procs. Just aim for crit rate and em being on your flower and feather and you should be good if you get a few c.rate rolls. And the reason why this is is cause favonious sword offers more energy than a time piece and an em time piece offers more than a weapon.

The freedom-sworn is Kazuha's BiS weapon, not Favonius sword. Favonius and Iron Sting are his second-best weapons. Kazuha is a lot easier to build with Favonius and it also gives ER to the team as a bonus. Iron Sting, on the other hand, gives Kazuha more EM which results in a higher elemental dmg buff for the team and it also increases his personal swirl dmg (thanks to the EM sub-stat of the weapon). Favonius sword and Iron Sting are equally good IMO. They both may be preferable depending on your team.

If you want to maximize your EM, then sting is better than Favonius sword. If you run triple EM artifacts then all you need is a couple ER substat rolls to reach the required ER. Running favonius sword is better if you have shitty artifacts, but sting is better if you have good artifacts.

Please do make a burst tier list I love seeing that type of stuff and am genuinely intrigued, because I do not keep up with the meta and look deep into stats and uses and stuff.

I have C2 with around 800 EM so the only sword to replace my Iron Sting would be Freedom Sworn. I capitalize on the raw dmg buff to my party.

Not sure if you’re still considering it but a burst tier list would be awesome. Perhaps 2 lists one for DPS/Sub DPS (damage) focused bursts and one for support focused bursts? Just an idea, either way, that video sounds awesome!

I've always had a bit of an issue with the blanket term "Support" used by the Genshin community. Characters like Yelan and Xiangling aren't supports, so much as Off-field DPS, as their actual support ability is pretty minuscule. Some would even throw Miko into that category. It often feels like, if a character isn't a Carry/On-field DPS, they get his with the big red stamp of SUPPORT. So, as much as I love Xiangling, I'm happy she's not on this list, because it wouldn't really make much sense for her to be.

Bennet E isn't something to ignore completely It generates bonkas amount of energy , 2-3 for a low cool of 2.5 seconds with high poise damage. This thing kills Cryo Fatui and Abyss shields and is effective against hydro and electro.

SevvyPlays made a video recently about Kazoo's weapons and made a good argument that an ER weapon like Fav Sword or Sac Sword is better than an EM weapon like Freedom Sworn or Iron Sting, assuming you don't have enough ER from just substats to reliably get your burst back off cooldown. Basically, if you need some ER, your choices are ER Sands/EM weapon vs. EM Sands/ER weapon, and you get a little more value in terms of total stats out of going EM Sands/ER weapon.

I think you forgot to mention Yelans A2 Passive that gives 50% increase damage to your active member

Up to a 50%. It scales up over time, after all. That said, he does say that her support side, outside of the mobility utility she provides, is mostly offensive, and that increase falls into that category. The one he did miss is her C4, which provides a nice boost in survivability for atk% DPS type characters, since the "better" your substats, the lower their hp will be. Especially the more squishy ones.

9:28 Xingqiu is not a sub dps that relies on EM as he usually isnt the one trigger reactions. He is just there to apply the element for other characters to react with

I really Liked this video and was very informative but i think there is one very important point that's missed out about Yelan i.e in this video I heard about her c1 being nice and it actually is for overworld and besides that it just adds a bit more damage tho as this video focuses on Support characters i think her Passive should have been mentioned instead since its just so amazing giving a massive damage boost of upto 50% ( 25-35% in optimal rotations or pre-casting ) to any active(Main DPS character)

It’s a genshin ranking video so no matter what people are gonna get salty. But YES I would love to see a skill and burst ranking!

Xingqiu is my main and my comfort character when soloing bosses in co-op, he has self heal, dps, a semi-shield, he’s on a smaller side that makes his movements less “crunchy” than tall characters in my opinion as I excel in using medium height characters, he also shreds hydro resistance, he can enable plenty of characters, and he’s canonically a menace I just love this man so much

There’s another thing about Kazuha, he needs a pretty good amount of ER to consistently on loop his burst, 160 is preferable but you can get away with somewhere with 140 I believe depending on the team comp. VV EM mainstat pieces are often very difficult to get and many people who even get them have pretty bad susbats so it’s not unseen for people to Energy Recharge timepiece, also hard to get a VV mainstat on given the mainstat drop ratios. It’s likely gonna add to the investment on resin if you’re not lucky.

No Sucrose sadge But in all seriousness, Sucrose is really underrated in the "meta but not really in depth" community and Kazuha is overrated.

It makes sense that Venti is not in the top 5 but come on he is NOT a one trick pony. Apart from crowd controlling, he does a lot of damage and can refund energy to teammates (and on top of that he can generate a lot of particles within a short period of time)

Not mentioning Sucrose even on the honorable mentions feels like a crime. Regardless, the list itself is good!

Kazuha is an elemental damage booster, sucrose is an EM booster. In vape teams that makes sucrose better then kazuha no questions asked

@@bhavya5692 I mean, support capabilities in terms of versatility? Sucrose would be atleast on the honorable mentions no doubt, she def has a lot to offer compared to Diona who is mostly just used on reverse melt (C6 required btw) and cryo team comps

Yeah, so swap out Zhongli for sucrose, swap Diona and venti for xiangling and idk, kokomi? But like xiangling is more of a dps character that is used off field she doesn’t really « support »

Vars, what is your Zhongli build?? Those burst damage numbers are pretty damn good

Would love to see the bursts and skills tier list!!!

Kokomi should be on this list.

i think if zhongli is in the list kokomi must make the list too , you just cant die with her on team and unlimited hydro application and she can run milelith + ttds at 0% cost just need hp sub stats much more easy to farm

you may not die with kokomi but your dps will still suffer from getting interrupted. i'd rather use zhongli so i can comfortably attack enemies

Some enemy on floor 12 can one shot some character from full hp. Kokomi can't help in that situation, while with Zhongli, you can just face tank it with 1 hp character.

@@MerkMD as a person with 13k hp ganyu and yoimiya i agree Even if it doesn't one shots your character Sometimes it staggers hard which makes you have face tank all the after hits

Imagine not including one of the most broken support which made people second doubt Kazuha's existence during his launch. SUCROSE Come on VV shred, Em sharing, 20% elemental buff, 48% atk buff,(edit - anemo driver for taser, anemo battery for xiao and decent cc off the field), and still no mention Edit - I don't think Yelan is a broken support to be in top 5 considering most of the time she is a downgrade to Xingqiu and mostly used along with him. Whereas Sucrose is literally 4 star Kazuha, takes a little bit more brain cells to drive but provides more buffs as well.

@@Fascitious no bro. She's definitely broken. Em buff while being the strongest swirler in the game. Also what do you mean em artifacts are expensive? If we're talking about her weapons. The three star book called "magic guide" yes it's a 3 star em book and yes its em value is high her other weapon is ttds which you don't even need to level up and damn it's also a 3 star weapon. No bro,Sucrose is definitely broken.
