I defiantly can't live without this...

My modem has 3 1gbps port and 1 2.5 gbps port and i find none of my stuff (arlo cameras, philips hue lights, sonos speakers) work when their base stations are plugged into the 2.5 gbps port. So i would beworried that the dlink switch would be useless to me since it is all 2.5 gbps ports

The below are the CORRECT FIGURES: 1 Gb/Gbit/Gbps = 1,073,741,824 bits/s = (1,073,741,824 x 0.000000125 [conversion for MB]) = 134 Megabytes / MB/s 2.5 Gb/Gbit/ Gbps = 2,684,354,560 bits/s = (2,684,354,560 x 0.000000125 [conversion for MB]) = 335.5 Megabytes / MB/s In reality, due to network overhead, a 2.5 Gbps connection will give a real experience as low as ~260 MB/s in some cases, provided there is a 2.5 G capable network card installed in both the transferring and receiving devices. The below is the erroneously purported performance of the switches in this video, YOU WILL NOT get the following performance: 1 GB/ Gigabyte/s = 8,589,934,592 bits/s, this would mean the switch can facilitate transfers at 8 Gb/Gbit/Gbps 2.5 GB/ Gigabyte/s = 21,474,836,480 bits/s, this would mean the switch can facilitate transfers at 20 Gb/Gbit/Gbps, which it cannot. If you work with large files (1 GB I've worked in corporate IT for 11 years and now advise businesses on IT infrastructure purchases, It's good to read up on new tech and look for recommendations but please DO NOT BY ANYTHING without speaking to an experienced individual.

Maybe the mistakes in the video were placed on purpose just to generate comments here, maybe not. But here's one: you rarely say anything useful about the switches and you try compare gigaBIT (not byte ;) and 2.5 gigaBIT (again not byte as you said and labelled many times) switches which are completely different subject. You simply can't compare these together. A useful video would speak about the chips (Intel, Realtek, Broadcom...), memory, processor = possible bandwidth and compatibility. Being wall mountable is irrelevant amongst the pros as who cares? They don't add anything to the performance at all. We care more about how stable and reliable the device and how close we can get to the theoretical bandwidth. Straight at the intro you say switches "bolster your network's security"... The unmanaged switches are dumb devices which manages the traffic between ports, nothing more and nothing else. They are simply incapable of ding anything in favour of security. Recommending a 5 port switch for a small business or a conference room is absolutely nonsense. In a regular small office there are whey more devices to connect together than 5. 1:34 10 gigabyte per second? Maybe gigabit... maybe 2.5 gigabit but it works only between 2 ports... as that's one port can do 2.5Gb therefore a device sends data simultaneously to other 4, its output is this max (theoretically max 2.5Gb) so the bandwidth will be split between the other 4. So this 10 gigaBIT is bulls* ... again. LED indicators to ease of use? Really? It only helps to see if the cable is connected properly. Doesn't do much more, so highlighting it equals to the indicator light on a car. It helps to determine the future direction of a car, so buy that car. Plug and play... yes, like all switches in the world. Even managed switches have basic configuration which makes them ready out-of-box. Pros/cons are absolutely useless for making the right decision. Guys, please do not consider buying any of these devices based on this video!

during your talking about #5, the Netgear switch, the video kept showing OTHER switches, and it was very confusing to see an 8-port switch whileyou kept saying "5-port switch". if you just didn't have any video of the 5-port switch, why not just TAKE SOME? and if your argument is that you did not have one of those switches in hand, then how can you possibly talk about them as though you know they are the BEST, if you've never even tried them out?

That's because this is one of many fast-generated video's with random footage and an AI voice... 95% of "very recent" review or top5/top10 video's are the same garbage like this

Not to mention that the AI voice is literally just reading out general information about these devices which you can just look up yourself if you google the products. There is literally nothing "unique" offered in these so-called top-x review video's

I've got one which wasn't introduced here, 8 port managed 2.5Gb switch, it delivers nearly constant stable 2.37Gb.
