So you've decided that you need more POWER for your iPhone 8. The question is: What battery cases are left? And which one should you get?
Battery cases have been on the decline from my perspective as the iPhones users seem to be content with the current battery sizes in the existing iPhones.
Powerbanks are now quite cheap and you have many options to charge your iPhone quite quickly, whether it be with an iPad 2.1 A charger or other 2.4A chargers.
But if you still need a battery case, here's our Top 5.

#1 SnowLizard SLXtreme
The coveted #1 spot goes to the SnowLizard SLXtreme. The SLXtreme packs a solar panel, a massive battery and is waterproof and drop proof to 6.6 ft.
The solar panel is always charging the battery, even if it doesn’t show the LED for charging. The case can survive a 6 ft drop easily and can be used under water up to 6 ft as well.
For the solar panel, SnowLizard claims that you can get 10 mins of talk time for every hour in the sun. Based on our tests, I can confirm that this claim is close to the truth. If you need EVERY detail about the case, check out the full review video that I’ve one on the product.
#2 Kuner Kuke Battery Case
The standout feature for the Kuke is the ability to add a micro-sd card to the case to expand the storage of your iPhone. This is great for people who rip movies from DVD’s and BluRays that they own and want to play them on your iPhone easily without taking up space on your actual iPhone.
The design of the Kuke is somewhat similar to the Apple Smart Battery case as it’s fairly easy to remove the iPhone from the case. The texture of the case isn’t as good as the Apple Smart Battery case but is still better than the Mophie Classic Charge.
#3 Apple Smart Battery case
I like how the Apple Smart Battery case integrates well with iOS 11. It shows up in the battery widget and is easy to install. I do like being able to toss this into my laptop bag on days where I think I might need a bit more power but don’t want to deal with the hump of the case.
The Apple Smart Battery case has the same silicone coating as the Apple silicone case so the handling of the iPhone is quite decent. The hump on the case actually helps with the handling as well. Sure it looks odd but it’s very Appe-esque as the bulk doesn’t interfere too much with the handling of the iPhone.
#4 Mophie Force Hold
The Force Hold case has magnets on the back of the case so the power bank will attach to the back without any hassle. I like this setup a little better than the Otterbox UNIverse setup but it isn’t as stable. The magnets on the case do not interfere with the wireless qi-charging feature of the iPhone 8 which is nice. Other magnetic cases may interfere with the iPhone 8’s wireless charging. The standout feature for this setup for me is the fact that the power station mini for the Force Hold provides faster charging at 2.1 amps. So with the Force Hold, you’re getting less bulk and faster charging. Just a really good combination.
#5 Runsy Case
So the Runsy case was one of the few cases on Amazon that seemed to be a little different than your average run of the mill battery case. It has a massive battery and act as a power supply for other devices. It also turns your svelte iPhone 8 into a large rubber brick.
Now the brick comes with an impressive 5800 mah battery which will charge your iPhone 8 from dead at least two times over. The handling of the iPhone 8 is decent despite the size as the case has a soft rubber coating.
The standout feature on the Runsy case is the USB-A port that allows you to charge other devices. I see this feature being more useful for younger iPhone users who are in school as it can provide a quick charge to a friend in need.

I stand by my Apple smart battery case. I was thinking for a while that some sort of clip on wireless charging case might be nice...until I noticed how warm things get while charging wirelessly! I only wish they’d make an Apple battery case for the plus models!

good review once again. No case seems to offer an audio jack like the fuze. Also, I think that only Apple case allow you to connect an lightning ear buds to the the external connector.

Wouldn't need a battery case if phone manufacturers simply just made the phones 1-2mm thicker, instead of trying to be the most anorexic phone out there. 1-2 mm would allow a massive increase in battery capacity and the phones would be less bulky than having a battery case :D.

There are some nice slim battery cases out there which double as power and protection and it will always be a thing
Between the Apple Smart Case and the iPhone 7 version of the ThinCharge (Not in your video but you reviewed the 6s version) which would you go with?
So if I want to use the Mophie juice pack air for the 7 plus on the 8 plus, it won’t fit? Or it won’t fit well? This is really important before I purchase.
Do any of these cases have it where I can use lightning jack headphones while the case is on? (Sorry if the question doesn’t make much sense lol)

Some of the cases had poor drop protection, the solid battery and the inserted plug just transfers shock to the phone, I just preferred to carry a power bank if necessary. Battery cases seemed very specific use, like for on the ground reporters who would live stream on periscope, massive draining apps.

With the glass in the back a lot of these cases will scratch or mess with the glass i have a weird smudge on my glass now because it interacted with the glass

Is there a way to make the iPhone use the power from the batter case rather then just charging it? I bought a battery case only that i could mount it and play games using the power from the battery case and leave out the internet iPhone battery. I play a lot of games and i dont want to use many charging cycles to my battery. I bought it used phone so the cycles are around 400, just wondered if i could do this with a battery case, Much appriciated if you have any info.

Great review! Just got an iPhone 8. I'm just wondering who does water boarding on the beach? I'm guessing you don't go to the beach often. I don't either, but I think you meant wake boarding.
Ahhhhh, but you didnt mention anything about whether or not lightning headphones work with any of them. That's the biggest reason I haven't got a battery case yet for mine. There are about 23434645 different options on Amazon for battery cases that will fit, but none of them work with any headphones aside from bluetooth.

selina Selina I like to charge my 8plus wirelessly and found it a pain to get off so I could charge separately but other than that love the case

Great review! however as someone who's bought at least two battery cases for each iphone ive owned(4s, 5s, 6s, 8) the 8 is the most problematic. as although most battery cases designed for 7 will work for the 8 (not all but most) the issue of the 8's thickness comes into play. the iphone 7 is 7.1 mm thick or .28 inch and the 8 is 7.3 mm or .29 inches thick although this isn't a big differences it's most noticeable when you buy cases from amazon marketed as being able to fit on the 8 and then they crack or tear (silicon) because of this added thickness. can you recommend any cases designed specifically and/or exclusively for the iphone 8 ?

Yaro Melnyk I feel you I have an iPhone 8plus and got a case as a Christina’s gift this year and the case says 7plus or 8 plus on amazon but when you put the case on it’s a bitch to get off cause of the thinness but kinda still works as a battery cases

I use a morphie juice pack air on my iphone 7 and having the wireless charging makes it cool plus the bottom speaker aims to the front so better stereo , by having this case it makes the iphone 8 a useless upgrade , only problem with any battery vase after the 7 is you loose the headphones through lightning port and are forced to use a bluetooth headset , not the ugly hairdryers from apple the icon x looks better
Aaron, please consider honestly reviewing the rhinoshield mod case. I have seen reviews but they have all been sponsored. They fail to mention how horrible the clear backplate scratches and gets dust stuck in-between the plastic and iPhone glass. Thank you!

My #realworldusage My smart battery case and iPhone 6s were drained, then I plugged the case into a 29w adapter. The phone charged 30% while in Airplane mode and low power mode and the case charged 20%. I imagine the iPhone 7 case may perform better, and may be able to charge the iPhone 8 a little faster, depending on case current limitations. I am keeping this on the top of my list for favorite case. My phone is 128 GB though, so I don't need MicroSD expansion.
Only issue with the Kuner case is, no CarPlay compatibility... the port doesn't pass-thru the data

The best iphone 8 plus battery case i tried is u-good brand,it must be the slimmest and lightest, also it can double my iphone battery to run whole day.anyone who have interest can find it on amazon. Oh sorry, it does support lightning headphones,w/ lightning port.

The original apple smart battery case is great, but the build just isn’t that good. Mine is literally falling apart afther 6 months of use. The battery itself is holding up good, but the sides of the rubber, on the side of the phone are coming off, like it’s cut, which it isn’t. Maybe it’s because I take it on and off quite often, but for 130€ you can get one of the other ones in this video. Trust me
love your videos man. but please try to limit the times you ask for help. as someone who supports you it does get tiresome hearing it again and again. on that note your reviews are above and beyond 98% of others, your stellar quality will eventually speak for itself

The problem with solar panel cases is that they are so damn useless, the solar panel cases are probably very expensive, and for the one he showed towards the end of the video takes like 12 hours to charge your phone!!!
