And none of those those people even open the video to watch it because they work for hundreds of channels making thousands of videos every month. Just wait, they'll soon do heart surgeries like that. It would be fun to run belts to all these engines, and have them turn a generator. It would be fun to hear what they sound like when loaded. Especially the hit and miss engines. They'll hit more often, if something slows them down between hits. The oil and kerosene engines might have a completely different sound, if they were opened up to drive a load. A generator, and a selection of loads could serve as a crude, old school dynamometer, to determine about how much usable horsepower they can really produce. I love these engines, they're old, dirty, and look like they're still in service, after so many years. I can't help but think that the engineers of these marvels would love to know that their engines are still hammering away after a lifetime of use.

  • @SeaMonkey137
    @SeaMonkey1374 жыл бұрын

    FYI: Gear heads (the likely audience this video targets) want to listen to engines because 1) it gives them first-level of diagnostics while signaling what the engine is doing, and 2) they actually consider it music. Blaring background music over this kind of content is a production fail.

    I suspect these top 5/10/20 etc. compilations are just looking to monetise views and have targeted old engines as they generate interest, without giving much of a thought about the content, or it's audience. Sure a little quiet background music might make the top ten ironing boards less painful to watch, but engines come complete with their own soundtrack which is best enjoyed by itself. The KZreadr created a great video, but the Audio was a bit like what I'd imagine the royal wedding would have been like if one of the guests brought a vuvuzela along.

    I really adore the hot oil bulb engine in the last clip, very very early design to modern Diesel, you'll notice the early mechanically injected Diesel engines were indirect injection, concentrating all the compression and heat into a bulb to ignite the fuel spray! This is why early Diesels could run on cheap bio oils like the hot bulb engines, since the concept is the same!

    I have to say the samething as other commenters so I will do it constructively. You loose the pleasure of seeing the early marvels in there prime with music, or you need to lower the volume so it's almost not heard. Video editing with a professional feel is an art within itself. Sometimes music isn't even needed. Other times, choice of track will make or break the video. The question you have to ask yourself is, what are you saying in the video -figuratively I mean what is the message -the story, if you add a backing track what is the backing track saying -...... Your inducing an emotional response to your video, does the music Ilisit the same feelings? It's an art.... Not everyone can do it....

    Next time please don't add background music. Just let the engines sing their songs ;)

    Agree about the lame musical "accompaniment" . Please re edit this wonderful view of classic motors and focus on the engines "musical notes" .

    The problem that seems to plague KZread producers is the same one that seems to occur in television documentaries where the music drowns out the dialogue. The sound engineers have egos that are way too big and seem to think that they know better than you what you should be hearing. They also never get any feedback on their "work product" or if they do, they seem to ignore it seemingly to think that their "production values" are not to be criticized or questioned.

    Remove the music AND raise your voice man you sound scared to speak, with the music and the sound these magnificent antiques make I struggle and still barely hear you.
