Top 5 Boost Ripoffs Top 5 Boost CopyCats -Brooks Amp Foam, Saucony Everun, Sketchers burst, Puma nrgy, fake boost
With the surge of technology in running sneakers, Adidas boost has taking a position as a leader with the balance of responsiveness and cushion. Since then however we have seen many copycats on the market.
In this video we will discuss the top 5 Boost ripoffs
Whats up heskicks from collectivekicks.com shop top sneaker deals in description.
Also just because the technology is listed as a ripoff, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing.
So why even do this video? What is Adidas boost:
Adidas's Boost, a collaboration with the chemical giant BASF, is different. The midsole of the new Energy Boost, the first shoe to showcase the technology, looks like spongy polystyrene, but is actually made up of hundreds of nuggets of super-springy thermoplastic polyurethane
Did a video on that here: • 'WHAT IS ADIDAS BOOST'...
#5 Brooks DNA Amp Foam - While it doesn’t look like boost, it has a couple similarities 1- BASF same company Boost was created with.
2- PU based
#4 Saucony Everun - with 83% energy return and a position closer to your foot, EVERUN gives you a livelier sensation in every step.
Most cushioning noticeably changes over time, EVERUN doesn’t. It’s 3X more durable and 3X less temperature-sensitive than EVA, for a consistent response from the start of your run through the life of your shoe.
We currently offer EVERUN in two different constructions. In our most highly cushioned models, a full midsole of EVERUN sits between your foot and the ground, for the ultimate in soft landings and springy takeoffs. If you’re looking for a slightly firmer ride, but still want the responsiveness of EVERUN, we’ve added a Topsole layer to some of our most popular models
www.saucony.com...
#3 Puma nrgy
PUMA NRGY Foam for maximum energy return and comfort: eTPU pellets are bursting with energy to give you a pop with every stride
RGY features a damping sole made of an innovative synthetic called expanded thermoplastic polyurethane, similar to Adidas’ “Boost.” The two activewear companies each claims it developed the synthetic first, although neither had it patented.
Puma said it started working on the damping material, which promises high-energy return to runners, in 2009 with German chemicals specialist BASF. Puma claims that in 2011 BASF terminated its partnership with Puma and struck an exclusive deal with Adidas instead.
Adidas launched “Boost” in 2013. Puma followed with NRGY two years later, after finding a new partner in U.S. chemicals company Huntsman Corp.
However, BASF struck an exclusive deal with Adidas on the technology in 2011, allowing the bigger company to launch its new line of “Boost” shoes in 2013. It sold 10 million pairs in the running category alone in 2015.
That forced Puma to look for a new partner for the foam and it teamed up with U.S. company Huntsman Corp in 2014, launching its “NRGY” line last year. The shoes sell for about $100 and upwards a pair, still well below the price for most “Boost” ranges.
Adidas sought an injunction to stop the sale of “NRGY,” but lost the case at the Duesseldorf regional court on Tuesday.
Narriman said Puma had held back from launching many versions of “NRGY” due to the case but would now promote the rival to “Boost” more aggressively.
• Puma NRGY Was Before a...
#2 Fake boost in Replica Yeezys-
Not the real thing… oddly close, something smells fishy.
#1 Sketchers burst
Burst Compound midsole with superior impact cushioning protection and remarkable energy return
Soft responsive Burst Compound allows maximum flexibility and is extremely light weight
Final thoughts? Do any of these competitors feel as good as boost? Do you think other companies will try to compete as well? Will Adidas morph the boost formula? And will boost technology have any staying power?

@Jack Becker good to hear they were useful while they lasted. I only use a pair of boost as a backup running shoe/casual wear, as I find better stability and response from asics or brooks. I feel slightly insecure in boost's plushiness, though some models are firmer like the solar line. Thanks for the response👍

@Fail Zero, no, BASF did not make boost for your bmw, your bmw does not have boost on the dash. I have worked on cars my entire life, I have worked on BMW’s, we have replaced multiple dashes, most cars have a type of foam yes (older cars do not, in fact they are hard as a rock!), it’s thin and it is also an insulator, thus for it’s used as sound deadening. Both are closed cell insulators, but are very different, the R value on both are different, rubber and boost are not the same. Couldn’t find one thing on google about BMW putting boost in their cars... I believe puma and BASF started working together in 2009, sooo boost is not in your damn car dude.

Important correction; the material for the Adidas boost pellets AND Puma NRG is *ETPU for both.* It's like if you had TPU as a liquid and made it foamy and then hardened it. That's ETPU. Adidas has BASF ETPU and Puma gets it from Huntsman Chemical.

Honestly though they are both completely different shoes in application. Reacts are way lighter and have firmer cushioning at 7.8 oz (size 9) while Ultraboosts are 11.5 oz and have softer cushioning. Reacts are better running shoes than UB due to how it is lighter and more responsive than UB. I still think UB are the comfiest and look better than Reacts but I would never run in them. 11.5 oz is heavy af..

Hi Hes, Great to see you put the React on the list, but do you really not see the similarities between UB and React, like you say? They both have: 1) Plastic heel cage till halfway up, both with branding on it, 2) a midsole that sticks way out of the upper at the back end 3) overall shape of the upper from tongue to the end of the toebox 4) one piece of Flyknit upper, one piece of foam sole 5) similar midsole shape from lateral side 6) no lace cage or real eyelid parts, similar to the UB uncaged 7) both midsoles have bubbly appearance 8) it is exactly marketed with the same purposes as UB, that is a running / lifestyle shoe 9) a midsole that has similar cloudy cushioning feel in contrast to all past Nike products which had more of that 'air' cushioning feel.

  • @hypnagogue
    @hypnagogue6 жыл бұрын

i've heard that brooks' dna amp feels kinda dead and heavy because of the tpu casing around the midsole. they were focusing solely on energy return (as opposed to cushion), which caused them to try to keep the midsole from compressing by encasing it in solid tpu. also, there's another tpu midsole on the market. it's called Ego and is made by Altra which is a smaller running shoe brand. some of their shoes like the Escalante and Paradigm have this midsole which feels and functions very similarly to boost. also, both of those models have a knit upper, which makes it even better. definitely worth a try.

The only Ripoffs are the Fake Yeezys and the Skechers. Creating super soft but responsive cushioning is the ultimate goal of every running shoe.

ultraboost is also comfortable because it has that stretch web or that sole with holes so you can see the boost makes you feel the boost when you walk unlike some shoes they have that hard white sole under neath the insole

I own a pair of brooks levitate and they are just as good if not better than boost for running. They are very light and responsive, I have ran cross country and track in them and I don’t see myself wearing any other tech. I would look into the brooks ricochet because it combines ghost and levitate midsoles.

boost tech doesn't feel as light and and as comfortable as their own cloudfoam...i tried both side by side...so why you say that boost is the best? from what kinda variable that you can say that it's the best cushioning? best selling shoe tech, yes... but i think it's because its on those shoes that are popular right now...but the most comfy? I don't think so...the most light? i guess not...
