Doesnt Terra have a population in the trillions ? Dont underestimate the power of large numbers. They could be evolving themselves out of nurgels grip. Grandaddy Nurg pissed he's running outta diseases to infect the terrans with as they are so numerous they always develop an immune population and breed that immunity into the population.

I would guess that the only reason Terra doesn't have the highest suicide rate in the galaxy is because there isn't anyone keeping track of that shit. I would guess that over 90% of deaths go unrecorded and just got thrown on the pile to be 'recycled'

Terra reminds me of a less technological and grimdark version of coruscant from star wars. More specifically the descriptions of coruscant from the different EU legends novels rather than what you see in the prequel movies. Even in star wars, the people who live on coruscant on the bottom levels near the planets crust are so mutated they aren't recognizable as human anymore and most of them don't have eyes. They don't speak galactic basic and they've likely not seen human beings in generations because the planet has been repeatedly built on top of itself burying them in what used to be the beginnings of coruscanti districts but is now just a wasteland that never sees the sun

I would suggest the planet of Eidolon in the Eye of Terror but then again it's the place you go to find more ways to die not live. But that doesn't stop the Chaos Legions from fighting over it plus it's split up by demon princes from each Chaos God.

Space marine capabilities Would be nice How strong are they how strong should our roid boys be it’s very inconsistent Storm wardens and Mentors and other lesser known but unique chapters would also be cool

@@rykehuss3435 Could have rolled poorly..? One of my DnD buddies has a d20 that we refer to as The Demon die. If he rolls with it as a player, it rolls low all the time, and rolls 1s at vital moments. If he rolls it as a DM, it rolls high and crits at bad moments, so an encounter we should be able to breeze through suddenly becomes deadly. I hate that damn thing...

Tidally locked planets rotate at the same rate that they orbit the star. If they didn't rotate then day night cycle would last as long as the annual cycle, but different parts of the world would be exposed to the sun.

I don't know if Cadia would have been on a list like this, if it still existed, but I feel like it could have been. It's definitely no Catachan; the world itself isn't out to end you, but practically every big Chaos incursion, and every Black Crusade, seemed to have to come through the Cadian Gate, meaning every day was another anxious day of staring up at the Eye of Terror, with a finger near the trigger of a lasgun, wondering if today was the day another such battle started, or tomorrow, while the Eye looked back, turning your eyes purple, and possibly tainting you with Corruption. And I'm also sure some little stragglers from invasions past cropped up, and had to be dealt with. I, for one, wouldn't want to visit Catachan. I've never had the opportunity to travel to Australia, and while I understand it has several iconic, even kind of cute (but dangerous) animals on it, it also seems to have at least most of the top 10 most dangerous snakes in the world, AND also at least most of the top 10 most dangerous spiders, so I'd rather stay a safe wuss, I guess, and appreciate it from a distance, and the same holds true for Catachan. At least Australia has a happy, healthy human population, certain plague rules past aside; I'm almost surprised Catachan doesn't have a "no humans kill humans" rule, simply because every other thing there is also competitively trying to kill humans. Terra has always surprised me from the start of my appreciation for the hobby, and lore. It's THE sacred world; the cradle of Mankind, andchome of the Emperor. The most fortified world in the Imperium, so it can be a shock that it is also a waterless, irradiated husk, where even bacteria might struggle to live in the sandy soil, and the only thing you might rat, that didn't have to be flown in from off-world, is your neighbor you might kill. The planet is almost seen as sacred, but there's no trace of it to the people who actually live there. It's been through hell, and it was mostly wasted, and consumed, before that, by the ever-expanding human race, and the wrath of its enemies.

So, I have my own death world which is basically cattachan ++ where there was no chance of surviving a fight period. So, all the people living there got really really good at hiding from everything with a pulse because even the smallest most docile prey species would wreck a squad of space marines.

Surprised to not see Necromunda. I guess it's not so bad after all.

Terra might be fun to visit tbh, think of the occassion hole in the hive city. Or the Temples, forts and Imperial Palace probably looks really nice seen as how tiny you are compared to them.

Probably pleasure worlds or garden worlds. Similar to our Earth, or even nicer. Still have to worry about good old-fashioned depravity, but all in all, you could live a normal life in those worlds.

Heat is a measure of average kinetic energy of a given substance. Conduction occurs by transferring kinetic energy from one substance to another through contact, and without an atmosphere there are no molecules to gain heat and transfer it to you through contact.

One thing I never really understood about Terra.....how does anyone breathe? Most air is produced by microscopic organisms in the oceans, and in 40K they boiled away. The rest, from plant life, but I get the feeling there aren't many of those around either.

I've noticed that space marine chapters tend to recruit from specific worlds, and tradition keeps them doing so. When their homeworld/recruit world dies out they either go extinct, or start recruiting from other worlds. But the real reason is because GW simply wants catachan jungle fighters to be separate from space marines.

Chapters are typically gifted recruitment worlds by the High Lords. Or they ask for one Or are given special permissions like crusading chapters. I dont think the high lords or militarum would want to give up Catachan as a imperial guard death world. Same goes with Kreig etc
