How do you like a movie it’s written by a transphobia
Also I just want to add a big thank you for your videos for helping me feel more comfortable with being a horror enthusiast! I feel like there's always been a lot of judgement when I say what movies I like or books and watching your videos has made me feel a lot better and that there's absolutely nothing wrong with loving a bit of horror!

I’m shocked you get that type of flack! I feel like the true crime/serial killer vibe is very common.
I'm so happy to see The Emperor's new Groove on the list. I'm not so into animated movies myself but this movie calms me down so much, I could watch it every single day. It's a real comfort movie for me and I'm glad I'm not the only one

I forgot that this list included non horror and seeing this comment confused me at first
One thing I loved about Thirteen Ghosts is how the Director Never kept the ghosts in dark corners. They were brightly lit with beautifully done full makeup, right in your face! Not a lot of CGI went into the ghosts, just great acting! The people hanging in the cafeteria in The 6th Sense always makes me jump. They look into your flippin' soul! 👻
You’re Next and It Follows, I was obsessed with those two after my first viewings. The Shining, Halloween (78) and Demons are my top comfort films.
32min video love to see it thanks for all your hard work Sarah and congratulations on 200k you deserve it!
I could listen to you talk about movies all day honestly. Also love that you listed where it’s streaming!
So rarely see love for Thirteen but it is one of those films that has stuck with me since I first watched it when I was also 13 (we must be pretty much the same age - there are a lot of overlaps in our favourite films and like you say, you tend to favour the era you grew up with). I have a lifelong love for Evan Rachel Wood and Nikki Reed because of this film. I remember watching it and simultaneously feeling like I wanted to be them but also feeling very unsettled by it all.

I also watched this when it came out when I was thirteen! I credit it with the reason I originally tried self harm so that’s not so great, but it was still a really great movie that I rewatch all the time.
My top ten favs/comfort horrors are 1. Orphan 2. The Ritual 3. The Craft (if you’d consider it horror) 4. Scream 5. Jennifer’s Body 6. Rosemarys baby 7. It Follows 8. Psycho 9. The exorcist 10. Misery

Thank you so much for including where these are streaming! ♡ This list is fire!
I knew you had amazing taste but am SO GLAD that Thirteen is on your list! It's my second favorite film of all time and I think it's one of the absolute most under-appreciated movies of the 2000s. Even as a gay man this movie managed to relate and stay with me for years for countless different ways and is the film I feel defines my teenage experience the most. It's an absolute 10/10 film for me (not to mention gave us babies Nikki Reed, Evan Rachel Wood, and Vanessa Hudgens.)

It was co-written by Nikki Reed! Same director as Twilight as well (who was the other co-writer). As she was Nikki’s step mom at the time.
Last Night In Soho was such an amazing ride i wish Edgar make more trippy movies like this
LOVED Sunshine! Thx for including it in your list!
I just want to say thank you so much, your channel has opened my eyes to so many horror movies that I love so so much (Starry eyes and The loved ones specifically) and has made me fall in love even more with the genre, one of the best horror content creators out there
I’m so happy you did this video, I’ve been curious abt your favourite non-horror movies for a long time so this was so cool to see. Great video
Amazing list! You mentioned so many of my favorites as well. You have excellent taste ;)
I watched Starry Eyes and The Loved Ones thanks to you and they went on my list of favs! Keep it up!
Yeey, I was waiting for this type of video, glad that you included the non horror faves too 😌
So pumped for this video!!! You have such good taste, since the year began almost every film I watched was one of your recommendations!!!
the sixth sense was the first movie to traumatize me as a kid cuz I watched it way too young and I haven't seen it since. I need to rewatch it!
I absolutely love your reasoning for your number 1 and it’s connection with your dad. So heartfelt. 🥰
You’re videos are so comforting for me ❤️
Great list! Also appreciate the cheeky little mcr vinyl on the shelf
Great list! Love the way you describe the reasons for why these movies mean so much to you. Regarding Snowpiercer, I hope you're watching the TV series because it takes the story in so many ways that the movie only hinted at (it's definitely worth your time!) Would love to hear your take on it!
I love coming to your channel for movie recommendations because we have such similar taste in movies! Whenever you recommend a movie I add it to my list because I know it will be good 👌
I loved this list! You've got great taste! There are some movies I'll need to check out and I chuckled a little bit hearing you explain emperor's new groove lol was a little odd but I loved it
Found alot of good suggestions here. Thanks for the recomendations!
I don't know just how many years I have been watching your videos, but it was fun to realize that I have seen many of the films that are your favorites from your recommendations!
You're literally my movie-taste twin. I love almost all of these and the ones I haven't see, I will be watching ASAP
Dear Sarah after all these years, your channel has become my paradisiacal island, my most precious place of all time. Thanks Sarah for your amazing videos!
Oh I am so glad you included The Hole it's a movie I hardly see anyone talk about but It is honestly so good
I am SO GLAD you made this video!!! Watching Sunshine and my mind has been totally blown - I don't know why I skipped it when it came out because the cast is amazing and the story is crazy good. The flashes - that effect is probably more unnerving than most horror films manage to achieve now. 10/10 recommendation
So excited to watch this! Congrats on the subs. You deserve it.
Great list! I was also obsessed with all the YA dystopian books! Have you tried the Charlie Higson series “The Enemy”? Its a longer series about the zombie apocalypse with teens in London…so good! Excellent blend of pure horror and teen angst. Another books series to check out is the Scythe series by Neal Shusterman. Published in 2016 but reminded me why I love teen YA dystopias!
you are truly one of my favorite youtubers, every video is just wow..
this is easily one of my favorite vids you’ve ever made! love hearing about your favs
I enjoyed your list very much! Great video!
Amazing list ! Thanks for sharing.
I still remember watching Interstellar with my dad the first time. We bought it and watched it in the bonus room. One part of the movie I realized I was sitting edge of my seat, I look over and he’d done the same thing. We both laughed and relaxed back. We don’t have a lot of memories so I take those little moments. Funny little memory, but it’s a special movie and so darned beautiful. Love your list and channel. 😊
You are amazing, love your voice and movie suggestions!!!
Excited to see if Gretel & Hansel will make it to the list, considering that you loved it THAT much :D
This just reminded me of how much I loved Thirteen! So excited to see it on your list.
Ah so happy that you talk about Triangle! I don't think I have met a single other person who has seen it, and I loved it.
I am enjoying your videos - thank you! I am not sure if you've reported on this one, but it's one of my favorites - The Deeper You Dig. Husband, wife, and daughter production. Very low budget, but very effectively done. Great music, too.
My boyfriend and I just watched "Last Night In Soho" and we were in love with the movie, such a creative storyline! I think this and "Ready or Not" are my favorite recommendations of yours. We also liked Triangle. Thank you, Sarah! :)

Always love to hear The Hole talked about!! Yessss!
I was also 13 when Thirteen came out and I was obsessed with it. I thought they were so cool. Looking back it probably wasn’t a great influence on me. I was definitely acting out in ways similar to the film. Did you know that it was based on real life experiences in Nikki Reed’s life?
I feel like you would like Nocturnal Animals a lot, it's so beautiful. I LOVE all Tom Fords' movies. The are so perfect in every way. I wonder how you feel about them :) .

I love that you included your favorite animated movie!! Emperor’s New Groove is amazing. My top 5 favorite movies are: The King’s Speech When Harry Met Sally Titanic Fatal Attraction Harry Potter
Over Covid in the last couple years I’ve finally watched all of the horror movies I was so afraid to watch when I was little: Silent Hill, The Ring, Jeepers Creepers, Hostel, the Hills Have Eyes 🙌🏼 it’s been a ride.

Yesss! I’m so excited 🖤
just watched Gujiam - thanks for the Rec!
I am so SO glad that you mentioned Shutter. It scared the hell out of me, but by the end I was in floods of tears, such a sad story. Just like The Eye and Dark Water, so much Asian horror is less about defeating a big bad beastie, and more about recognition of trauma and grief. Great video.
Pleasantly surprised that you included Shutter! My favourite movie
I would love your opinion on Yellowjackets! Love your content Sarah! 🖤
I love the original Shutter! I watched it with my dad when I was 12 and we were both traumatized, it's so scary
I have a list of new movies to watch and a reminder to rewatch some of my favorite movies of all times. I mean, Sunshine, Snowpiercer, The Martian, Interstellar! I watch those movies, particularly Snowpiercer, almost once a month. Now I want to watch it again. Thanks!
I LOVE that you included a Harry Potter film on your list and I LOVE LOVE that it's Prisoner of Azkaban, my favorite book in the series. Also LOVE that you included Emperor's New Groove, also a favorite of mine. I'm gonna have to test run some of your other pics as there are a bunch I've never even heard of. I think it's the generation gap, lol, because I consider myself a movie buff but the 2000s aren't my strongest era as my 2nd child was born in 2000, so I was a little busy. My favorite horror flick is The Shining. Pure Perfection.
The best Horror movie ever : 1) Lake Mungo (2008) by Joel Anderson. Nobody talk about it and it's a masterpiece... 2) The Turin Horse (2011) by Bela Tarr... 3) Begotten (1991) by E. Elias Merhige and 4) Angel Heart (1987) by Alan Parker...
Nice recs! I think it would be cool, if you make a video, where you show horror movies, that began well, but went bad then.
I’m in my early 40s so it fun to see your outlook as a younger horror fan. Keep up the fun videos.
That was interested list. I am glad you liked Last Night in Soho.
Triangle is the one movie I always recommend to ppl and without fail, they have never heard of it! So glad to hear it's on your list; I must be in the right place.
Love this! Can you do an updated favorite books?! I’m trying to read more so would love to see your top 10 of all time!
Ooh, I loved Triangle so much that I watched it twice in one day. First alone and then convinced my wife how good it was and that she absolutely had to see it too. Edit: I liked Silent Hill so much that I had the siren sound as a ringtone for a long time.
i think the word to describe the lovely bones and melancholia etc. i think would be surrealistic. i love those films too! love your channel too!
I saw Sunshine on my flight to Australia in 2007. I just remember it stuck with me. I need to rewatch it.
I absolutely LOVE the silent hill movies! As a fan of the games and overall story of SH, I thought the movies were a beautiful fit. So glad to see someone else appreciate them aswell!
i love how whenever i look at your videos i’m greeted by a my chem bullets vinyl album :)
Thanks for sharing your list. I’m a definite Horror Movie fan. I think The Grudge would end up with me on a deserted island scenario
My favourite 4 movies: La La Land, The Gran Hotel Budapest, Dunkirk and Matrix My favourite horror movies : The conjuring, phycho, black swan, Halloween,Blair witch project, last ning in Soho, the witch, the Blair witch project, midsommar, insidious, saw, rec, get out, the village.
I would love a best body horror ranking!!
Starry Eyes was so good! Alex Essoe needs to be in more stuff!
Great video and amazing channel. I can’t rank my fav but I have a list. - Akira -The Fellowship of The Ring -Children of Men -There Will Be Blood -Back To The Future -The Social Network -Meloncholia -Mullholand Drive -The Dark Knight -Goodfellas
I also absolutely love Thirteen. It came out right before I turned 15, and I moved into a group home/residential treatment facility(for mental health issues) on my 15th birthday. I lived there for almost a year and it changed my life. But before that I could really relate to the characters in the movie. And also the things they were doing. So it definitely holds a special place in my heart. I am a horror fanatic but I feel like my favorite movies of all time don't include many horror movies till I get past my top 5. My top 5 in no order would probably be American History X, Blood Diamond, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003, Labyrinth, and Lord of the Rings.
Can’t wait!
Sunshine is great! One of my favorites too 😊 Based on your picks I feel like you would enjoy Stay (2005)
So happy that you're favourite movie of all time is Interstellar, because it's mine too! Another favourite which I always think about is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Not sure if you’ve done a video on this or not, I’m a newbie to your channel! 👋🏻 but would you do one rating horror tv shows? Like I love the MTV version of Scream and the new Archive 81 is interesting, just would love to see your thoughts on those! Also, some of my all time faves is The Haunting with Liam Neeson, mainly because I watched it as a child and was completely spooked and just loved it, The Ring movies also a fave, Sinister, The Visit, Conjuring Movies- basically anything supernatural I love! 😊 I also just watched Triangle and Frozen and both of those are great as well! Oh One Missed Call another one from my childhood I love!
This is a damn near PERFECT list!!!!!!!!
Awesome list! Have you seen Asylum Blackout (The Incident)? Love that movie.

Great list! So funny you listed Downsizing. I just checked it out of the library yesterday! Lol. I couldn’t remember if that was the one you liked or Welcome to Marwen, so I got them both. Lol. Re: Sunshine. I loooove that movie and rewatch it a lot. You may have convinced me it’s horror, but right now i file it with my fave sci-fi movies. And yes, Interstellar is there. I adore that film too. Sci-fi is my fav genre, with sci-fi horror #2. But they make so few good ones, so horror is my most watched. BTW, have you seen Titan AE? It’s Animated but a very good sci-fi movie you should check out.
