That scene still gives me uncomfortable chills to this day. I remember when it premiered in 1995, 8 yr old me couldn't believe my eyes seeing the Thunderzords destroyed with ease (Tigerzord was my most fav). The way they struggled to keep themselves from literally falling apart looked like they were dying. This may be a bad comparison but now I know how 80s kids felt watching Transformers The Movie in its theatrical debut.

@hectorcollazo, we had the original Transformers movie, which was a movie of the cartoon. Optimus Prime is killed in the first 15 minutes of the movie, and doesn’t come back, and there’s a whole scene of the Transformers mourning him. They then have to fight Megatron, Starscream and Unicron with no real Prime until the end, but it isn’t Optimus coming back, it’s the emergence of a new Prime. It came out in 86.

I had a white talking Saba sword growing up, and an original red ranger costume complete with helmet. As a 31 year old woman I'm still mourning losing them both and that scene fucks me up Everytime too, watching their heads and limbs fall off. So damn dark even as an adult. Finding out Jason David frank died, by suicide no less, has also broken something in me that it's hard to describe to anyone who didn't look up to him too, and knowing how many of his moves were really HIM. It killed me almost to acknowledge that he really was just "human" like the rest of us. I hope that's not offensive to anyone cause I know it's not a perfect explanation. ​@@hectorcollazo8845

The reason why trini was killed off was because thuy Trang was involved in a fatal car accident in 2001 which resulted in her death. At the time of the accident, she was 27 years old

@@Unversed333 TBH I actually laughed at Gem and Gemma "dying" because they were goofs and I could never take them seriously and their death scene never felt like death more like a Digimon being deleted in the digital world. And just like a Digimon Gem and Gemma reappeared a few scenes after. Thier death IMO was a joke. I think Kendrix's death didn't stay permanent because the actress beat cancer so bringing kendrix back it's more of a victory against death.

I still think that Javi getting his arm blown off was one of the darkest moments of the show.

The Magna Defender's back story still tears me apart 😢. The visual of a son who sees his heroic father beaten, only then to have that father see his son be killed infront of him 😭. Definitely one of the darkest scenes in Power Rangers.

There is a moment on Time Force when Eric, a power ranger of all people, attempted to murder a defenseless and harmless mutant simply because he wasn’t human. If that wasn’t dark, then I don’t know what to call it.

That time Kimberly broke Tommy’s heart via letter was hard and dark.

The alien attack in Lost Galaxy was really creepy

for Power Rangers Lost Galaxy: Trakeena was combined with Deviot so some part of that was Deviot in her mind. & also in the 1st mmpr movie when Ivan Ooze missed up the inside of the commandon center & almost killed Zordon

I don't care what anyone says. But the 2017 Power Rangers was absolutely awesome. I loved every minute of it! only wish they made a sequel!!

Never underestimate anyone's actions no matter how they appear on the surface. Divatox is the perfect example of that, doing what Rita, Zedd, even the Machine Empire, took months and years to do. Say what you will about Turbo but that ending was not only sad and gripping, it was a great watch. Kendrix's demise was also extremely hard to watch, even to this day.

Power Rangers RPM (2009) Dr. K's Sad backstory Alphabet Soup dumb villain name evil as Fuck !!!!

To me, the more dark parts of the show involve antagonists preying on the insecurities of protagonists. Examples that come to mind include Scorpina praying on Adam's confidence issues by pretending to be his prom date, Kat resorting to disordered eating in Turbo, the mixed messaging of Justin handling his bullies in Turbo, and the bad optics of writers keeping their only black main character in Africa prior to Zeo. Power Rangers RPM has the craziest implications for each of their backstories. Dr K being gaslighted into being a recluse and working on military science; medical supplies being smuggled and resold instead of readily accessible; coercing your daughter into marrying in order to maintain financial stability; being walled by your father following the death of your sibling; being captured and having your body violated; fighting a war outside of the only survivable atmosphere at the cost of your development, and as a result becoming children stuck in adult bodies willing to blow up a prison full of people without thinking it through; I'm sure there are more examples, but these are just the ones that come to mind.

This is officially the longest watchmojo list/video I've watched and i watched the top 10 and 20 for this and damn this video was long but worth it keep up the power rangers content watchmojo may the power protect you all!

It was especially dark for me because it happened after he and Amelia became an official couple and the brainwashing prevented him from loving her back(which is especially hard for Amelia because not only does she have to fight him, she also has to deal with the fact that Ollie can't love her until he is returned to normal).

Honorable Mention: The entire earth swallowed up into a black hole (Power Rangers Super Dino Charge) In their attempt to finally destroy the Dark Energem, the rangers recruit everyone on earth to reflect sunlight onto the dark energem up in space destroying it. Unfortunately the power from within the Dark Energem unleashed a black hole that not only sucked up Sledge's ship, but the entire planet earth with it. Though the Rangers use the power of their combined energems to time travel back to not only stop Sledge back during the prehistoric times, resulting in the planet earth never being destroyed but created an alternate timeline where the dinosaurs never went extinct. Though everyone on earth was restored thanks to time travel, they still pretty much sacrificed their entire planet and the entire population of humans.

What's really wild is that in space, lost galaxy, lightspeed rescue, time force and wild force address some real adult issues....some of it is ridiculously dark for a kids show........

Lightspeed Rescue happens to be my favorite season. The time when the Rangers relied purely on science and research for their tech rather than futuristic/alien/magical MacGuffins.

When Nick look at Udonna and went: "Mom" for her to not even spare him a glance. Just like how he was when he found out he was her son. Callback and heartwrenching.

This should be expanded into a Top 50 list or more so that the darkest moments from the comics can be included. I mean Darkest Hour and Shattered Grid have some of the darkest moments in the entire Power Rangers franchise.

I had hoped they would include events from the the comics this time around (like they did in their original darkest power rangers moments list), but they disappointed me. Which is why they should make a bigger list that includes events from the comics. They even have yet to do a video for the top 10 power rangers comics.

@@leonardolim8976 if this projection was the limit of Diabolico's otherwise sealed power, I don't think he would have that much trouble maintaining it, although it also means raising/training Ryan probably kept him occupied until the seal was lifted, which is why there were no other known interactions with demons between then and the seal being broken. If it happened on something like Halloween, it would make sense that the seal was weakened, possibly allowing Diabolico to slip a Human through the barrier. With the Demon's access to magic, they probably foresaw Captain Mitchell being the primary that when the seal breaks, and figured turning his first born son against his Father would be a great way to destroy that obstacle. If they knew there would be Power Rangers to fight against them, they probably would not have made Captain Mitchell aware of the demon threat. But those are just headcanon guesses.

So many heartbreaking moments. Thunderzords destroyed.Karone is kidnapped,Billy drowns, Deker's defeat,Ransik's hatred,end of Green Rangers,Power Ranger loose their base,Magna Defenders past,really sad and tragic,Kendrix sacrifice,Trini's death,so sad.Zordon's death so sad. Tragic,sad. I remember. Doctor K unintentionally starts the Apocalypse. Shame what she did. But she has good intentions. Happens sometime. Tragic. Great video!

I think Ivan Ooze attacking the Command Center and almost successfully killing Zordon from MMPR the Movie should've been on the list as well as Lord Zedd taking advantage of Jason's guilt for not saving Tommy's powers in Season 2 of MMPR.

Dark wish is one of the best 3-part episodes in the franchise (series finales not included).

Every time Kendrix’s death is brought up, the last line of the Evil Rangers list always rings in my ears. “Psycho Pink managed to do what no other villain on this list managed to do. She destroyed a Power Ranger.”

Divatox being the only one to ever defeat the Power rangers and stil getting fired from the job

I say the moment where the Dark Energem is destroyed and creates a black hole that sucks the entire Earth from Dino Super Charge is pretty grim due to the fact that it was all the Rangers fault. Although the Rangers would rewrite history, they are left with the memory of their greatest success and failure. And while Sledge would be revealed to survive the black hole and enter the Main Dimension a couple seasons later, it it still unknown what happened to the Earth.

Uh Lost Galaxy when they were attacking the ship knowing 911 was around corner, Magana Defender death and his son, the Scary and best ranger episode based on DOOM 12:31, pink ranger death, Trakeena goin beserk, The brother death in first episode i mean Lost Galaxy is the best series for a reason

I've wondered for a while now if kendrix actually died, or, like Dane Romero in ninja steel, had her severely damaged bodies absorbed into her saber until the energy release when her friends returned their sabers to the alter at the end of the series. her comments of "I'm ok" and "i will always be with you", though obviously not intended to do so at the time, can be viewed as further proof of this, as can kendrix's spectral appearenses in the next episode..

The time Dayu made the deal, it was with Master Xandred who did so, however Serrator took his place.

Super Sentai would have a much longer list since they kill off heroes all the time. Yellow Four from Bioman was particularly hard to watch, especially her inhuman scream when she is finally KIA.

The fact that Zach raised Minh was due to the fact that Zach and Trini were in a relationship in the MMPR:Pink graphic novel. Also, SPD was originally comprised of Rangers from other teams when it first came to Earth. One of these members was Tommy and Kat’s son JJ who inherited Tommy’s Master Morpher and used Tommy’s final Morph which was Tommy’s Green Ranger powers. JJ was able to continue to use Tommy’s Green Ranger Powers after only morphing one time with Tommy’s Master Morpher.

Here's 1 in my school vr game that was sort of connected. Is the reveal of the Super Demon (Goalius super demon voice actor did Lord Zed in cosmic Fury and the biggest point was his introduction during a raid on a military grade base with him just walking through the bases defence like nothing and absolutely devastating the base is grim as hell)

What about the death of Kite in Wild Force? I know Kite can be annoying, but we do see a human child death on Power Rangers. I mean how seeing a child die on Power Rangers isn't dark?

I recently rewatched Samurai, and I agree that Dekar and Deiu definitely belong on this list. I will add, upon rewatching, that Sir Raider said he spent 200 years planning to split the Earth. That's about the same time Dekar was cursed. I think Sir Raider set that cabin on fire intentionally in order to trick Deiu into helping him create the half human half Nilock. Either way, I think its the most tragic villain story in Power Rangers.

It really says a lot when rpm was able to take the dumb talking car motif from its cringe-inducing senati and turned it into a fucked-up post apocalyptic future, where 95% was originally footage, and not part of the mainline continuity due being in another dimension.

Power Rangers Jungle Fury is the best power rangers adaptation to ever touch a live screen. Iykyk.

Oliie Turning Evil once in Dino Fury & Almost the entire Season of Cosmic Fury. When Javi Loses his Arm after Unlocking a Portal for the Zords from Zordina in Which Its the 1st ever time when a Power Ranger Lost his Arm but solon mentions that someone also went through with that. When Ameila Had a Scary Flashback to when she & her parents Landed on Earth from Rafkon and she was Taken away from Pop pop for Safety and She never saw her parents again until she realizes that her parents were Void Knight & Queen.

Technically zordon does not die his energy is dispersed through the universe to either eliminate evil or cleanse evil from physical bodies. Thus ending one universes story in the power rangers multiverse.

FUN FACT: After Vernon left Lost Galaxy, the show still listed her as her as part of the cast so they could pay her for her treatment. It was TOTALLY worth it since she returned for the final episode.

Wes Collins' father almost dying was a pretty dark moment in Time Force, and it led to possibly one of the best character developments in the show in Mr. Collins.
