I literally got perioral dermatitis (a red, painful inflamed rash around mouth) from using too much salicylic acid toner (Paula's choice 2% BHA) along with other factors. I can't use any skincare now for 2 months. I can't emphasize it enough to let your skin rest and not use too many products at once not to mention not too many NEW products together.

I learned foam on MY oily skin leads to more oil. Switched to cream cleansers and noticed a huge difference. Also after a yr of bha...bpo take the metal.

am a beginner. I have oily skin and i choose simple face wash, plum green tea alchahol free toner, plum vitamin c serum and ponds light weight moisturizer, and fixderma Or aqualogica pink sunscreen. And i came to know that some ingredients should not be used together. Like plum toner has glycolic acid and it should not be used with c serum. Can somebody who knows about this please reply? You can use them together but need to keep your skin moisturized because both of them will easily dry up your skin. Or not you can use it alternatively.

The dermatologist at Singapore General Hospital recommend me to double wash using Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser twice at night because i reapply sunscreen like 3 to 4 times a day. Also don't leave the cleanser on face for more than 30 seconds. I have dry sensitive skin from retin-A usage but i have really bad hormonal ance at my jawline because of my gyne health problems. I got adenomyosis and blood disorder so need to take hormones pills to prevent period. My pimple are blind type that cannot be pop and take months to heal.

Cerave SA cleanser for night and a gentle cerave or cetaphil cleanser for day. Singapore not so convenient to get cerave SA cleanser. At least the hospital i visit don't have so i use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser in the morning (once) and night (double cleanse using same cleanser).

if the cleanser used is already have salicylic acid, then avoid using moisturizer that also have that ingredient. find moisturizer which can compliment that such hyaluronic acid to moisturize your skin back. ceramide and niacinamide also great. for toner, also the same, dont use exfoliating toner anymore but the hydrating one. for me personally, I limit the use of product with salicylic acid to only one product in my routine so that it doesn’t dry up my skin or over exfoliate it. my skin is combination btw. if yours is oily and acne prone skin, might be able use stronger salicylic acid.

From what I've researched, they do not go well together. However you can use your salicylic acid in the daytime and your retinol at night.

I think this is whata happening with my face right now um using the cosrx gentle cleanser and it feels dry😞

You can treat acnes with antibiotics cream. Oily skin can use salicylic cleanser. For large pores and blackheads can use chemical exfoliants in those areas.

A normal cleanser

i have oily/combo skin. in the winter i was using CeraVe salysilic cleanser + a mosturizer but now in summer i noticed that the mosturizer gives me whiteheads. so I switched to a light serum( caudalie) but the bumps come out again. I stopped mosturizing and just wash my face with the same cleanser+ SPF every morning. is that ok? some bumps are going away but with the sunscreen I'm afraid they'll never go away...

You can use at day and night but if you using retinol serum after using salicylic acid cleanser wait for 30 mins before applying retional. Many doesn't recommend using salicylic with retional though as it is harsh on skin.

Cerave and Cetaphil are ok. In Singapore General Hospital dermatology, my doctor prescribed me Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser. I actually prefer Cerave cleanser because it feels nicer on my skin but there are lots of counterfeit cerave online and Singapore not so accessible to cerave. At least i cannot buy them from those hospital i go to regularly. I just stick to the cetaphil because it's cheaper and i know 100% authentic as its Brough from hospital pharmacy.

@@zulfikri107 there are too many counterfeit for cerave. Some small businesses n shop even selling counterfeit without realising it because their suppliers lied to them. Mostly China suppliers. I recommend Cetaphil oily skin cleanser instead. In October 2023 my sis use a faked cerave n burn her face and it stings n peel for more than 2 weeks. Pretty serious chemical burn on her face. Till now still cannot use most skincare as barrier skin is ruin badly. I dare not recommend cerave now. My sis never leave cleanser on face for more than 30 seconds while washing. Imagine someone with oily skin leave n massage on face for 1 minute before rinse off. Her face will be ruined.

I use Avène gel moussant in the night, and I like it. In the morning I use avène tolerance lotion, a much much lighter cleanser.

Before period will cause acne because your estrogen and progesterone levels drop. Use salicylic cleanser only at night, morning can use gentle cleanser.

I have acne prone skin too and I use COSRX Low PH Goodmorning cleanser every morning.. it works for me and some says it’s best to choose a product with low PH.. I haven’t tried COSRX Salicylic Acid Cleanser because I still have lots of stock of cleanser products 😂 (I’m alternating somebymi bye bye blemish and Nacific super clean cleanser at night.. depends on my mood 😂).. But to get Salicylic acid in my skincare routine (bec it’s a recommended ingredient to acne prone skin), I use Nacific Salicylic spot corrector whenever a pimple pops out or when I go out with pimples, I use COSRX pimple patch 😂

Oily skin is a blessing we should try to keep not eliminate!

Cerave salicylic cleanser

Over cleansing is as worse as not cleansing at all. Salicylic acid is great ingredients, but don't go overboard. Use actives sporadically and liatne😢 to your skin. Know when to stop and bring back ingredients into your regime. May everyone have glowy and radiant skin, take care folks.

It's different for everyone..I have very oily skin so I use a gentle cleanser everyday in the night time routine. Every other day i totally skip cleanser. To remove the excess oil you can use a toner only..there are a lot of great Korean toners out there.. again this is how I managed my skin might not work for you..but you can give it a shot

Your skin will define overuse. I can tolerate it daily, on my night routine. In my case, overuse should be twice a day. For another person, maybe every other day is enough. As long as your skin is not irritated, reddish, feeling tight, itchy, flaky or burning, it' s ok. Think about active ingredients as if they were 🌶️🌶️🌶️. How much is super spicy? It depends on every individual😉.
