She didn't say you could not but it should not be your top 3. I agree. So far I like what I've been seeing in the KZread videos. And I don't ask for price until I'm absolutely certain that I'm ready to buy from that breeder. There are lots of questions and research I do prefer asking for price. And that's really for any item I purchase

I agree how much shouldn't be the first question but it's top 5 having a look at the breeders facility is also a must do

I was just researching how to choose a good breeder , there were six questions to ask the the breeder and your top 4 was on the list , I Google my question. They said if a breeder gets defensive and tries to have you feel your over stepping, do not use that breeder, a good breeder will welcome these questions and even offer the information as part of there confidence in there breeding practice !! Thank you for helping maintain the integrity of the breed!!

My thing is when it comes to Tweleve Titans Kennels you do such a great job educating people like with your videos with the way you interact with your dogs you answer all the questions without me having to ask. To be honest I viewed your website viewed your videos and I feel like I already know what you are all about. Kim Jong-un you clearly are not familiar with the Cane Corso breed, hence cant tell an excellent specimen from a bad one.Preacher is a particularly awesome example of a Male Cane Corso, has sired some amazing pups too.♥️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

Just wanted to tell you that your dogs are gorgeous & your website is too notch! It's immediately apparent that you spend a lot of time ensuring visitors are well informed on the parents & the puppies (I LOVE all of the information/photos of each puppy from each litter - even the litter themes with historical figures!) So often, breeders will link a photo or two of puppies.. you provide every detail. Amazing work! 👍

Squeeze in not another question but ask "show me" the parents, the living grounds, (sleep & play), the certificates of health back 2 generations if possible. And show me the ability of the parents to display the temperament u desire. Sometimes questions just can't answer what u need to see first hand.

Lol foreal. Like how do people get a 130+ pound cane corso confused for a 45-65lb pit 😂. That’s like getting a bulldog confused for a Saint Bernard lol.

Very informative So then how often to you breed one female. How do you choose which dogs to breed with and what outcomes are you looking for in the pups? Because this is a relationship between the breeder the pup and the potential new family what is your process in getting to know the potential family before the deposit is made?

1 question I want to ask any “mastiff” breeder is how old is your oldest dog. My Boerboel was a rescue. I loved her with every fiber of my being. But she passed away way too young even thou we only feed her good quality food and had regular visit to the vet. They are the most amazing dogs and I cannot recommend a mastiff breed enough. It’s a completely different experience from other dogs. Next one will be another Boerboel as well (cane Corso would be my 2nd choice, no offense) but I will go to a breeder this time.

Very informative video. I’d ask all those questions. But I’ll also ask the breeder about which lines ( American or Italian) is in the lineage of the dogs. It’s not about which lines I prefer. IMO, a breeder should know the history behind the two differing lines and be knowledgeable about it. Another question I would have is the availability of a breeder to provide assistance (emails, text messages, over the phone, etc) to future owner. I would ask this to know what I’m feeding my dog or if the weight, etc is the best results for the breed.

Bravo! Well said. I couldn't agree with you more! If a breeder isn't knowledgeable and/or aware of the differences in the lines then I'd certainly think he/she isn't truly a subject matter expert. To your other point, a breeder who demonstrates active engagement, demonstrates due care and concern for the pup and the prospective family. Moreover, the relationship between the breeder and prospective family should not end once the sale is complete - its should be the beginning.

TwelveTitans Kennels thanx for replying. If/when I do decide to get a Cane Corso. I know I’ll be paying a premium price and having an active relationship with the breeder is key, IMO. Spending all that money, I’d want the best possible life for my dog. As well for myself. I’m no expert and never will do having breeders like yourself who can provide expert advice and steer me to what a Cane Corso needs ensures my investment long-term.

I would ask about proof of working ability, anything from CGC to temperament evaluations to protection sports to hog catching. I would ask about temperament and energy level. I would ask did you temperament test the pups at 7 weeks? I would ask did you do any type of puppy imprinting, from early neurological stimulation, to obedience, to crate training to housebreaking. I would ask at what age do you release the pups. I would ask are we talking American or Italian bloodlines. For me, I'm not interested in the bandogs that Sotille claimed were cc. I would ask about structure. I would want to see videos of the pups. I'm not interested in splayed front legs/paws, nor stifled/ straight hocks. That should do it.

I like to tour their setup so I ask when can I visit. That gives me a chance to see living conditions. I may be able to meet 1 or both parents. I can check for other dogs on the property,etc...

I love your videos and they are informative enough, plus I’ve watched almost all of them… this doesn’t mean I’m being disrespectful. But because the prices of puppies have gone up so much, you have to ask, because i am a single income home that really want a dog as a emotional support pet and protection. Because it’s just me. I would have to put money to the side to invest in a cane Corso. I have spoken to many breeders, and because I love your videos I would like it to be you guys. I even offered to volunteer for you. Just to learn more about the breed. I left a message on instagram… I am hoping to be a part of this family soon.

Hip displasia, eye issues such as cherry eye & entropion etc, epilepsy... ailments for many large breeds. We health test and attempt to breed only those that don't appear to carry these traits.

I’m in a situation right now we’re as I didn’t ask about how they were breeding and stuff. But Once I picked the puppy up I always had my doubts about her weight and so I had the vet do a DNA and she is 87.5 percent cane corso and 12.5 percent Boxer. I’m really upset now because that’s not what I was told I was receiving. The Breeder is giving me all this history on why they were instinct and they had to cross breed. I she thinks I’m stupid. But I’m trying to find an lawyer I can talk to. But please if can is there anything I can do. Please thank you I wished I had been following your page then I would have loved to had a puppy from your kennel

I also came from STCC, your dogs are beautiful. If you had a customer who was looking at one for a pet and had no interest in breeding could they get one without the ears or tail being cropped and docked? I love the breed but I hate the aesthetic mutilations that are done to them from when they were used in dogfighting and protecting livestock from predators.

Absolutely. We reserve with families early so that we can take into account their preferences. This also gives us plenty of time to get to know each other. I believe that building a lasting relationship with our Titan families gives our pups the best chance for a lifetime of happiness. Plus selfishly I get to see them all grow up 😆

I heard Cane corsos can be quite bossy. Is that true?

Hmmm.... they're a large dominant breed and definitely need to be properly socialized and trained. Not sure what you mean by "bossy". They need an Alpha-human. But they're fiercely loyal & protective of their families.

You do the questions that you want in the order that you want.A good and profesional dog breeder should be prepeared to answer ..Period.

What are Breeding Rights? Does that mean if I don't want to breed my dog the previous owner can still claim the ability to breed without my consent?

It just means either you are able to breed the dog or the breeder you get the dog from can breed your dog to one of their dogs. But both you and the breeder would need to come to an agreement in regards to breeding rights.

Do you think he will answers honestly to all these questions...or just tell me what J want to hear ? How will I know the difference ?

If you don't have enough money it kinda negates the rest of the questions

Or the people asking for the biggest dog of the litter or a 120lbs ++ dog

They’re a large dominant breed. They’re not necessarily vicious dogs. But training and establishing yourself as alpha is essential. I got my first two when I my daughter was 3 yrs old.

How much should be the first question. If buyer can't afford the dog, why waste each other's time? That's the bottom line. Disqualify and qualify your prospects.

I would debate that a LOT of folks want a “cheap” or inexpensive dog. In that case, you may very well get what you pay for. If a family has done sufficient research on the breed, then they should already have an idea of the price range. We’ve had folks haggle over the price before asking a single question about the dog itself. You don’t walk into a Mercedes dealership thinking you’re going to get a Hundai price point.

@@TwelveTitansKennels part of the research of prospective buyers is talking to breeders like yourself! How else can they get an idea of the price range? I entered the corso world in 99. I was part of the 2d generation of corso owners in NYC. No one knew about the breed. They were not even part of the AKCs foundation stock back then. I became a breeder around 2004. People loved the dogs but they neded to know if they could afford them. Why should I be offended as a breeder? We saw ourselves as ambassadors of the breed, educating the public. People had to know these were not your grandmas shitzu, and to own one you were going to pay for the quality.

Of course! We’re all about networking and education! It’s about finding the right match between the prospective family and breeder! But just as it is important for the family to do their due diligence, the breeder must do so as well! When we were doing this 10 years ago, it was difficult to get meaningful information about the breed. But that’s not the case now. It is undeniable that there are some folks who are not investing in a lifelong family member but rather something quick (cheap) and disposable. It’s not about a breeder being merely offended because someone asked “how much” - it’s the onus put on a low price above all else.

Question #1. Do Cane Corsco have hip an arthritis problems; #2 can you give me a $range if you want my email I will give it to you, I'm saving as I text, I have an amount in my head starting price, don't be disappointed in me I just need to satisfy my thoughts so I can purchase my boy pup, it's been 7yrs since Duke died, hurt me he was/is my friend. #3 what is the runt of the litter, Duke was the runt of 9 puppies. That's all for now. ❤🐕

Yes all large breeds could be affected by hip issues (due to their weight) if not properly maintained (weight and supplements in their diets). Then I’d challenge you to say you should already have a sense of what the average cost of a well pedigreed Cane Corso is based on the breed standard. If the breeders cost is far below or far above then it should raise more questions.
