Nice video. Personally, I feel Whitewater’s 28 and Conch 27 should also be mentioned in this. Both are more narrow, but tremendous all around boats purpose built for offshore fishing. Far more storage than anything you mentioned. Price points more reasonable as well. If price wasn’t a factor, I’d say SeaVee 290 all the way

If more safe fishing is the target. Buy a Grady. You will learn that you can fish on days in a Grady when in other boats you learn to stay home. It is not as fast, You cant get a different color except for the hull. But it will want to go play when others dont. and it will always bring you home.

And I have been out in things that I've had no business being in. The whaler outrage is awesome. That's what I would like to get eventually. I have the robalo 242 right now. I have grown up offshore, I live right on the water and Freeport Texas, and I have ran a lot of guided trips out of here. I have lived here 30 years, since I was 17, fishing at almost every weekend and I know every bump on the ground out there. My favorite trip is 69 miles out to stetson Rock. The tequila rigs are 80 MI but they are loaded with tuna and wahoo as well as some huge grouper. Anyway I get talking fishing and I cannot shut up. I just saw that you have my dream boat.

@@rogrambo I actually saw my R260 and got the Outrage. The r260 was a nice boat I can't complain it was easier to clean than the whaler. So many fishboxes now. But it was a 2003 and I had a lot of issues with yamaha's 225 four strokes I think it was the first year they made them that size. The Robo alo was great but a few times I went over a big wave going very fast and it almost threw me over kind of unpredicted.

Two engines are safer. Unless there are two separate fuel tanks and electrical systems your safety margin is greatly reduced. You are left with a engine failure that is not caused by the fuel or an electrical problem. The engines have to be totally isolated from each other. Also, never fuel up both tanks from the same source. Otherwise you will have both tanks with bad gas.

Can’t believe I see this comment, way to go! Been around boating for 50 years. Back in the 80’s at Sailfish Marina, North Palm Beach FL, if their ever was an old sea dog crabby ass man it was their fuel doc. guy. The tanker guys hated him as much as they respected him. Soon as the tanker pulled in he was out there testing the #2 diesel for water & contaminates. Same for gasoline. Miss those old school fully mechanical turbo diesels. Those Cats & 2 stroke Detroits were every gear heads symphony come to life! Great video!

Interesting comment and a smart one though sometimes filling gas from two different sources is impractical. I have twin outboards with a single fuel tank and I filled the fuel tank 150 gal, then didn’t run the boat much for an extended period of time, developed some fuel varnish and requiring some serious expenses related to fuel filters and injectors and the emptying and replacing of a lot of fuel. Now I try to use my boat more often and don’t fill up with more fuel than half a tank unless I really plan a long trip.

Cape Horn, Grady and Regulator, Boston Whaler, Yellowfin, World Cat, Edgewater, Everglades, Blackfin, Cobia and Scout are also good choices under 30’. Scout has tiny fish boxes in the back though built like tanks. Cape Horn has the thickest hull I’ve ever seen and their consumers swear by them just like Grady’s. Cape Horn’s have huge fish boxes as well. If going used check out the 33’ Hydra Sports Vector. Built like a tank with Kevlar and their tournament style layout is the best I’ve ever seen IMO. You won’t care about fuel burn when the waves get rough 100 miles offshore. Go heavy and get home. There’s no substitute for quality out on the water.

Foam filled does not automatically translate to unsinkable like most people think. Unsinkable, means some portion of the boat must remain above the water. In many cases all that is, is the tip of the Bow of the boat. There is only one manufacture that has an unsinkable guarantee in writing. Whaler. They are also the only manufacturer that list the swamped capacity of each model in writing too.

For me personally- I need a ration of 3.5 to1 on the length to beam ratio for offshore- The ride is much softer on offshore trips- Plus you need around 300 gallons for canyon fishing in the North east, unless you carry a Fuel bladder.

LOA with pulpit is 32' 1" with a beam of 10' 7". Great boat, just fished it yesterday like I do weekly but it's weak in terms of wave penetration. Since it has no flare all of the water that gets broken up by the chines get sprayed all over the windshield not out to the sides, 4 foot waves out there and she weighs 10,500 lbs +/- fully loaded

Grady's are bit too wide and heavy for my liking, I just don't like losing top end speed. I'm into performance.

Seavee is definitely a amazing boat definitely should be top on this list. I love and will own that seahunter Floridian. Best do it all boat you can have. But It’s definitely more of a hybrid!! But the Grady ??? Over price poor preforming and I could keep going. I mean so many better boats with cult followings. 30st contender ! 27 conch ! Hell 301 Cobia for more of budget option ! Or if you wanted a more northern brand for variety a 28 regulator. Just anything over a Grady white !!!!!

Lol sounds like your too poor to afford a Grady white. They handle big waves the best they are the most solidly built and they have good customer service. It is a real offshore boat. Not a 9 foot beam or hybrid.

@@loganmartin8613 LOL a grady is less than most of the boats I named!!! And its over price because its a pig that is laid up with a chop gun! So its anything but solid. If you want a boat that can barely get on plane, sucks gas and can't get out of its own way get a grady. Any of the boats I name will out ride a grady. Plus have fun with that jacked up wiring. 5- 6 years down the road with that birds nest of a generic wiring harness they use will start getting shorts everywhere lol. No one fishes grady in tournaments in south florida. Ask your self why that is. Hell I bet you have a grady side counsel lol !
