Doesn't Matter if it's possible, I'd flat out refuse to drive those roads in mine.

Agree! As a bus driver I would not risk it all goin on these roads with an ADL Enviro Darts (about 8 meters long)
That’s what I have had to encounter for the last 8 years as a HGV Class 2 Driver. I can imagine how of an impossible task is for HGV Class 1 Drivers. All the respect in the world for making it possible ✅👏🍻
I hope your company appreciates your driving skills!! Whoever plans the journey must do better!

@@colinrunciman5166 no we are not in the same. It's not their license in jeopardy, plus it's the driver getting stuck and not only getting penalised for traffic violations but also any damage done to 3rd party properties. Then there is the hours regulations. Getting stuck can only ruin the best plans ever. Then again it's the driver's name on the taco. IMHO being a hero does not pay off. I'd look up on Google Earth before just to get an idea of what to expect. Narrow like that, I'd call it in and refuse to deliver. There are plenty of jobs out there, but my license is unique to me.
Mate you get sent to some wild places! Good driving as always 💪
That truck should never been sent on delivery like that'' the people in the office need to find a new job.
i don't even know how you did get around these bends really impressive well done ooooof
Must be always a worry when the narrow road gets even narrower and with grass growing up the middle ! ... great video.
Full respect hes driving without shoes!!! Well done!! Thats a true professional. Not like most who jump inside with dirty shoes.
Respect to you, I've done them sort of roads in an 18t class 2 that was bad enough having to worry about a trailer must be much more stressful.

That will be a sat nav for a car he's probably got 😮
Kudos to all you HGV1 drivers that tackle roads like that! My dad had his HGV1 and PSV from the army without taking tests in the old days 😂 and drove everything and anything - I remember going with him as a child and saying I want to do that when I get old enough! Never did mind!!! No comparison between our UK lorry drivers and European drivers - you are EXCELLENT!!!😊😊😊

Thank-you very much, at least you, have reception, rgds Scotland
Good work mate👍🏻 I deal with this sort of stuff in a 26t rigid and thats bad enough i cant imagine how more intense it is for an artic
Done that in deepest, darkest Kent when I was loading Apples to go to Ireland. These narrow roads are an absolute nightmare!! Especially when you have to turn sharp right into a narrow yard, only just wide enough for a jacknife turn around!!
Been down roads so narrow that both sides the mirrors folded in and the wheels were up the verges on both sides, prayed I’d get out the other end and luckily I did. Had a bent front wheel doughnut where it had obviously been the nearest part of the wheel to the ground (or tree root) and was missing 3 cup wheel nut indicators. Went to DAF Witham and bought replacement doughnut and nut indicators. Doing sweeping for road surface dressing can get you into totally unsuitable roads because even tiny roads with all sorts of permanent restrictions need resurfacing so weight limits, width limits etc are still resurfaced obviously there are exceptions such as weak bridges and low bridges we do up to each side then by shovel and barrow on the exception. If it’s physically possible to drive there without destroying infrastructure then it gets resurfaced.
That lorry driver at the beginning reserving like that. A true true legend. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 He’s a true legend for doing that, reserving to a place. To let lorry driver through. True legend he is

If you put a snooker ball down, you should be able to "screw " the middle axle around the ball , ie, articulate, round any obstacles, then your half way there, the rest is experience and memory.

I have worked in Northern Ireland for about 2 years.... its a lot of this.... I am a class 2 driver..... today I past my test and now I am a class 1 driver.... so am looking forward to all of this... I like problem solving 🎉
That was tight. 5:30 you’re an awesome driver you are. 👍👍
I did North Devon in a left hooker which was quite the day out. You’re sat in the trees and everything that comes around the bend, including homicidal tipper drivers, is an absolute surprise to you. Same truck, same trip I ended up in the middle of Antwerp with bikes, trams everywhere. Gave up driving after 30 years but still miss the challenges sometimes.
Does that geezer know the air intake on his wagon is about 4ft above his head 😂
I live in a place like that & even on the more major roads here the number of times we've had big trucks stuck at certain choke points around this area I've lost count of. I suppose it's about to get worse though with the new larger sizes about to be dropped on us. There's one double bend around here that's tight for two medium sized cars on opposite sides of the road to negotiate & a big truck a while back got the front jammed up on one bend with the back jammed up on the other & it took over a day for it all to be sorted out, it was not helped by the driver being Polish & hopeless at understanding English. So even bigger trucks being allowed with continental drivers is going to be a right load of fun & games.
Thank you and well done 😊
Total respect to you we encounter journeys like this often as HGV drivers some people don’t realise how challenging the job is but we are also treated like rubbish from the public and other car drivers most of the time but what they don’t realise is we deliver Food drinks fuel postal service health products building materials the list goes on! Please all you road users have a little more respect for the work we do to keep the economy running.
Great driving pal
not one but three!!,,, well done mate
My hands were sweating just watching this I could only imagine what you was going through 😮
It’s loads like this that are breaking up country lanes that are never designed to carry the heavy loads over them.
i dont know how much longer u need for drive in this condition but i know that i was watching real truck master at the work💪💪
Respect Monsieur.
Legendary skills. I hate these roads in a car, so dread to think how they are in an artic. That said, im currently training for class2 so no doubt I'll encounter these roads at some stage.
Moja przygoda ze Szkocji. 2 godzimy jazdy taką drogą na rozładunek ziemniaków z Polski do uk ❤ Powodzenia
You done well through them tight roads
Never will I go for a job with H & M lol
Living in north devon, i can confirm that most roads are like that
Some of the B roads I got to go down would be lucky if a push bike would get down them
Std roads on the bulkers doing farm deliveries
Awesome buddy
Love the internal mirros cool i wish my old daf had them
This is where wagons need to have rear assisted steer and be tag axel , would give you 2m more swing in spots like that .
I think the company you work for should have Shorter Trailers for the more awkward jobs that are usually in Rural areas, and the your Planners should do better! Is that DAF you are in, the XF or the bigger XG Cab? I understand that the driver’s Resting bed is wider in the XG.
I have class 2 license and I been driving 26t truck on roads like these and a truck is super long, almost 13m long and over 4 m tall. Been in many sticky situations on roads like these. Also after two weeks will be doing class 1. So, I’m ready for more action.
Respect guys/girls, I don't know how you do this job, it seems to me that it's a nightmare that you cant wake up from.
It's no Good blaming the traffic planners it's the company that takes on the work the planners are only doing what they are told to do

The planners decide which vehicle to send depending on the load. A Mercedes LWB van can carry around 1,000kg, an artic over 30,000kg. Plus, they'll tell you, "John got down there alright last week". I was sent to Harrods which have a hight restriction, my lorry was too high. I phoned the office and they told me John doesn't have that problem. Mate the f**King lorry is too high, it won't fit through the gap, do you understand?
Do you ring these farms before going down these lanes? Cos the farmers will usually tell you the best way in.
Try & get a phone no for delivery address from office & get an idea from someone on site first. Dont always have the answer right enough but it’s worth a try esp down country lanes…
wow you must have a great planning department... makes me sick as you damage the truck they will soon be on your back.. reminds me of palletways deliveries to all ridiculous locations......who needs that sort of stress. you must be getting a great wage to put up with that shit !!!
The planners should get bollock in for sending You in to this hell mate but as always the haven't got a coocoo Nice skilss mate ☝️🙌 Not a chance I can get my 16' one up there 😩
Planning department need a paycut and a ride out in one of the trucks.
I’m ca coach driver and some of these so called business that operate don’t even have proper access and really shouldn’t be operating 😮😮😮😮
Avoid Nenptnett Trubwell when you are in Somerset
Should try some of the roads in Scotland
Welcome to UK roads... designed for a horse and cart. “What do you mean it’s a bit tight for an artic?..”!?...😳. 38 years of this shit, feeling your pain mate.
this video was pure hell to watch lol
i would refuse to go down lanes like this
Use an actual map book and do not rely on satnav HGV spec or not!!! Well done all the best and take care.
Reminds me about the days I was doing multidrop, I had an urban trailer with rear stear axle though but still fucking stressful going down lanes, low trees, tiny yards etc
i have to say i could never do that i dont even have the confidence for that i even somehow manage it to get an anxiety attack reversing my car if there are many cars around 🤣
I can,t find the rules but in my past when the tree axle trailers came out the law said that you can,t go on unclassified roads so is there an A or B on that road.
I have done a few of this...
That's just normal trucking in Ireland for us..
Leaves a city can't drive in country side, makes drivers look bad.
The company should replace their satnavs with newer ones if they're sending you to places like that.
Great driving but don't always do what the voice on your windscreen says! A little bit of common goes a long way. Research is key👍
But many drive these roads everyday doing 44tonne multi-drops.
Simple thing is , just don’t even bother with roads like that
B road is bad enough, a country lane should be avoided at all costs.
My favourite was Smug Oak Lane off Detling Hill in Kent; miles and miles of VERY single track carriageway. As always, the first time was worse because you're not sure what you're going to meet.
Fair play, but they are normal roads for farm deliveries.
9:08 - Which cheapskate ordered a fleet of brand new XGs for UK, and prefered fixed midlift to a steerable taglift*? Of all the mandatorry things they force us to have, this one would really help cornering. (because it pushes saddle outwards, without losing the grip)
UK roads ate barely designed for normal passenger cars. The roundabouts are literally insane
Do these sort of roads every day collecting milk from farms !!!😂😂😂 Talk about make a meal out of it !!!😂

seriously over the top..on these type of roads regularly with animal feed and fertiliser and dont do 10% of the crap this lad goes over...gonna give himself a heart attack the way hes goin on
Dairy and chicken farms that’s the norm. Devon Somerset Cornwall and most of Wales.
You deffo need rear steer on those crazy roads
How much is the salary for that huge amount of stress 😮? Because even if you enjoy in the motorway get there is a nightmare
Buy a Truckers’ Atlas. It’s what the big boys use.
What’s the music at the beginning of the video please?
Welcome to Yorkshire 😂. We have some interesting roads up here. This was a daily occurrence when I was tipping feed. Keep up the good work drive.
Well done 👏 boys nightmare
Never drive in to Port Issac - you will never get out again!
Watching that headcam video made me dizzy ! I hope those camera/mirrors are better than the rest of DAF electronics.
Drivers need to have a good talk to there selves 😮
Maybe look to achieve, why not, rather than no way! Every challenge completed adds to achievements rather than a can't do type driver?
Try it in a car transporter, way more stressful!!
Seen two of your videos now both about hard roads, come work on animal delivery for a week have to do them roads 15 times a week 😂

Or milk tankers 🤣🤣
Is it really worth it for £14ph?
Ich hoffe es kommt nie zum Begegnungsverkehr. Gibt es in GB keine Tonnenbeschränkung für enge Straßen ?
According to the UK government, the larger trucks are involved in less accidents.?
You could get a tank pass them roads
is there such roads in ETC2?
Do these roads daily in a artic tanker, this video makes it look harder than they are. As for the puddle (flood) she said she got through in her car, it’s nothing mate
Laura is that so I shouldn’t be travelling those roads need smaller vehicles
It is unacceptable to assign such delivery routes to a heavy-duty truck. This should be reported to the authorities so they can take measures to prohibit assigning such routes. Only small trucks should be sent.
Get the right sat nav and put it on lorry mod NOT car then it wouldn't take you down lanes like that Your the driver you plan your route ..
Turned this off as soon as that tool was on first drama queen
Thanks guys in the office? Really? You are the pillock who decided he knew better than the sat nav
Not artic friendly. One little day you’ll end up with 1000s of pounds damage. Bless you…
