Yeah, nobody in the NFL is going to touch that because they don't spend every waking moment focused on pure speed. They have far more diverse goals. And like others have said; NFL players are running on turf with pads and a helmet as well.

In game speed is so much different than 40 yard dash speed. Being that you're running after somebody or from somebody adrenaline definitely kicks in.

There are factors like if you have to give a stiff arm or hurdle someone then obviously you’ll have a much slower speed then a straight sprint

Chris Johnson is faster than all of them if that's the case because you actually see him accelerate and keep accerlating while running.

Michael Vick held that spot on sports science for a while with nearly 22mph. These guys got insane speed with full gear on

Looks like, after a quick google search, Usain Bolt’s fastest speed was 27.33 during his world record 100m sprint. Given the different gear and circumstances, they’re honestly not that far off.

Umm...No he isn't. His 100m best is 10.06 Jeff Demps and Jacoby Ford ran 10.01 Trindon Holliday ran 10.00 twice. Jim Hines ran 10.03 and 9.95. No one has run faster than Hines. Also Hayes never had the 220yd or 200m record.
