thanks for the random shoutout during the Chants of Senaar segment! I am a huge linguistics nerd and Chants of Senaar was everything I could ask for as a linguistics based puzzled game. The world building was super mysterious and I just couldn't put it down until it was finished. It was really refreshing!

What a fantastic game! Just played through it in two days. Totally immersed. My biggest linguistic achievement is doing the cryptic crossword regularly, but I was hooked on the feeling of exploring new languages, like the words are objects in a point-and-click adventure. And the ending even managed to totally surprise me. Great game!

Clement, I just want to congratulate you on your never-ending dedication to the channel. I don't comment much anymore, opting to read others comments more now that you have such a large audience, but I still greatly appreciate your insights and exposure you provide to such a wide array of games. Over the years you've become one of the pillars of the indie creator scene, success well-earned. I hope you're enjoying being a dad and that everyone in the family is happy and healthy. All the very best in 2024!

This year was absolutely crazy. You could easily triple this list and still leave many great games out. This is why I find it so baffling when I read someone saying that no good games are being released anymore, when the truth is that the problem is them, and that's fine, gaming fatigue is a common occurrence but the issue is that they don't realize that.

Gravity Circuit #1 for me, as an old school gamer that grew up on Mega Man and Castlevania it feels like a modern evolution of 2D action playformers

Chants of Sennaar is actually so good. I didn’t really know what to expect, but the depth is amazing. I was enthralled until the very end, which was also very surprising and clever. It feels like point-and-click but the objects are words that you don’t know yet. So inspired. Must play for anyone with even the slightest interest in wordplay and adventure games!

Just learned about Gravity Circuit last week and was able to grab it on sale. I was super interested in Laika and it was good, but the touchy controls really made it an exercise in frustration. I've never played a game before that seemed so obviously designed with a keyboard and mouse in mind.

As a horror-adventure fan, I can confirm Stasis: Bone Totem is great for the fans of the genre, wholly recommended. For some reason Turbo Overkill slipped into my 'backlog'; I need to rectify that ASAP. For both it and Ultrakill I was waiting for the full release. Oh dear, I need to figure out how to make my laptop double as a gaming rig one of these days.

I have played and fully finished Robotquest, playing the EA since one of the earliest builds. Besides having changed its core mechanics three times during development, I must say that the end-product is one of the best Roguelike Shooters out there. Unlike with contemporaries like Gunfire Reborn speed and precision is key here, but not too much to get completely "lost" in even as a casual player. Best of all, though, is the absolute KILLER Soundtrack from Noisecream: The tracks really feel like they belong to the areas they play in and the mixing of the quiet parts when in safe-areas, to then explode with the blaring beats during combat...it's just elevating the whole experience. Puts you in a trance and before you know it you glide through the areas! They got a youtube account, so look them up and take a listen! Listen to "Modify Me" and you'll know what time awaits you in Roboquest! EDIT: Also thanks for reminding me of You will die here tonight, I thought I was getting mad, not finding that "Resident Evil but with Combat in First Person" game I saw a trailer of a while ago!

Bread & Fred - Apart from the charming and cute graphics of the Penguin duo, it reminds me of some scenes in the old comedy "See No Evil, Hear No Evil" with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor - with both characters handcuffed to each other! Very comedy coop game! Great choice.

That's a fun analogy, haven't thought of that but yeah, I can see that. I wonder of I'll hear Wilder's and Pryor's voices in my head for Bread and Fred next time I play 😅

I really liked Chants of Sennar: didn't find it difficult but really enjoyed it nonetheless, plus soundtrack is amazing! I also saw Sun Haven everywhere as I'm a farming sim junkie but the pixel art style really grates on my nerves, looks too busy for me, so had to pass on it.

Sailing Era most successful? Nah, the devs are so inempt they cant even do simple things like proper typesetting, let alone fix bugs that they create themselves while supposedly fixing other bugs that they dont fix as well. Not to mention several times creating a bug with one of their patches that was corrupting your save file. Not to mention even after free update and paid DLC there are still game mechanics not added into the game even when some of the characters skills clearly hint to those mechanics.
