Top 20 Tourist Attractions in Melbourne | Guide to Australia
If you are looking for the best things to do in Melbourne, I have compiled my list of the top 20 tourist attractions in Melbourne. This guide Melbourne will give you some of the best ideas to see and do. This city is Australia’s 2nd largest and has been voted one of the world’s most liveable cities. Home to many different nationalities which give the city is unique culture and charm.
For discounted prices to some of these tourist spot in Melbourne I have listed some info at the end of the video. I have included general admission prices either on the video or a list to their website.
So for the best guide to Melbourne here is the list - is in no particular order:
1/ Eureka Tower is one of Melbourne’s best tourist attractions with some of best views in the city. It’s located on the 88 level. Prices I have listed on the video or check out their website. Open from 10 am till 10 Pm. If you game, try the edge experience which suspends you from the building in a glass cube. Eureka Skydeck is an awesome thing to do while in Melbourne
2/ The Melbourne Star is a giant Ferris wheel giving you spectacular views of Melbourne and the sounding areas. The ride goes for around 30 minutes in air conditioned cabins. There’s a running commentary to show you all of Melbourne’s best sights and history. For prices watch the video or visit their website directly.
3/ The Melbourne Aquarium (Sea Life) is one of the top things to do in Melbourne. If you love marine love, this is a great place to visit in Melbourne. Full of fun displays and exhibits which will delight the whole family. Don’t forget to check out the awesome penguin exhibit!
4/ The Melbourne Zoo. One of the best in the country and contains more than 300 species of animals from Australia and overseas. From monkeys, to African wildlife, birds and even butterflies! A popular place to take a family. Prices are listed on the video.
5/ The Shrine of Remembrance is a war memorial located in the Kings Domain. I have done a previous video on the free things to at the Shrine. In this video I show the really informative Shrine tour. I really enjoyed the tour and I highly recommend doing this if you visit the Shrine. I also show the Ray of Light ceremony.
6/ Old Melbourne Gaol. One of the more popular things to see in Melbourne, the gaol was made famous for the hanging of the infamous bushranger Ned Kelly. 133 prisoners were hung here. Take one of the tours around the gaol to learn more about its history. They also offer ghost tours of the gaol.
7/ Cook’s Cottage. Located in the Fitzroy Gardens this is another popular tourist attraction in Melbourne.
8/ The Polly Woodside is a dry docked 3 masked tall ship located on the Yarra River. Watch a short video on a voyage or go on board to see how people lived on this boat.

10/ Immigration Museum is an interesting place to learn about migrants to Australia and their individual stories.
11/ Chinese Museum is another fantastic museum in Melbourne. It’s dedicated to the Chinese influence to Australia and its history.
12/ The National Sports Museum at the MCG is a wonderful place to visit in Melbourne if you love your sports. While you’re here don’t forget to do the Melbourne Sports tour of the MCG.

Hosier Lane has the Street art. It's opposite Federation Square. Degraves Street is opposite Flinders Station which is walking distance from each other. The Block Arcade is off Collins St, again you can walk it. I did a video on the Novotel Melbourne on Collins Hotel and I showed the Block Arcade on the map. Hope it helps. Cheers.

No hate but... Sea Life aquariums around the world are phenomenally overpriced and Melbourne is no exception. Not to mention its probably the smallest too comparing to Seoul, Osaka, Tokyo, Bangkok, etc.. The only saving grace is their Merlin (season pass) which is cost effective for locals.

The botanic gardens are very underwhelming and disappointing. Hard to see why they are called botannic gardens when all it amounts to is some poorly maintained grassy areas some ponds and some trees. If you were expecting lush gardens with impressive displays of colorful flowers then you will be disappointed. Not worth the time to visit.
