Howard was a pig until he met Bernadette and married her. She set him straight with only occasional lapses into his pre marriage view of women...he was a creep😅

Penny needed the guys. But the guys needed Penny even more. They teached eachother during the shows run. Later with Amy and Bernadette the balance was complete. Great show!

*taught not teached. Not a dig, just a correction as the rest of the sentence was quite cogent. I have to disagree though, te show is very problematic in its take on geek culture for like 5 seasons til it finally eased off the stereotypes a bit and allowed the characters to grow. It became a great show, but it didn't start out that way.

@@TheMsLourdes Yeah…no. The show was funnier in its first seven and SOME of season eight. The show became GARBAGE in seasons nine-twelve. Penny was my fav character and she was RUINED. Leonard too. I liked him, then the writer decided to make him pathetic. They’re on their way to becoming Leonard’s parents (it all makes sense. I hate it, but it makes sense. Why do you think Penny was trying to get along with Beverly? Because she wants to BECOME HER. “so how can I make Leonard suffer the same way your husband did?”. If Penny actually cared, then, like Leonard said “We don’t like her”, they wouldn’t have made any effort with her AT ALL). Leonard was also given a terrible resolution in the end regarding all his personal problems. He of all the guys deserved to be a father the most to show his mother how WRONG she was to do to him what she did (his childhood and labeling him a public “disappointment”, by book publishing), and is CURRENTLY doing ti him. He should have told his mother to leave, and NEVER come back. Then to save what LITTLE dignity his marriage has, have Penny come back out and have HER GIVE HIM A FUCKING HUG, signifying that she’s the only woman to TRULY love him. Instead he got a wife that doesn’t love him, disrespects him, and lacks evidence that says so otherwise (she became the promiscuous slut from season two when she ignored what Leonard said, pretended to be into something she’s not into (science and D&D), and WORST OF ALL with a married man…again! Remember, the season two Christmas episode with that David Underhill? She did the exact same thing only with a married celebrity, and worse, she dragged Bernadette and Amy down to her level. Stupid writers. Can I recommend something to you, where there’s less toxic relationships? The relationships were super toxic and negative in the last four seasons, and I hated that. Penny and Leonard were my fav characters, and the writers ruined it: “What could have been”, by son-goku5.

Gotta give credit to the writers. They really knew what they were doing for the show. Penny was executed extremely well both by actress and writing.

@@heatherstephenson3559 Can I recommend something where she does put up with Sheldon, but once Amy dates Sheldon, Penny is smart and tries to get Sheldon to rely on her instead of Leonard because Penny wants Leonard for herself? She also swears to get revenge on Howard for the teddy bear (they actually show the scene where Penny finds it), and she also threatens him with calling Bernadette to tell her what inappropriate remark he just made. She also gets revenge on Raj for the Spa incident. And finally Penny’s actually gets revenge on Sheldon for the chocolate training (Leonard tells her), and she gets the best revenge EVER. Care to guess how?

Penny defending Sheldon over Glen the Ostrich and his collectible to the big bully showed the big sister/little brother dynamic they had. I loved how their relationship grew over the seasons.

Before stomping the puzzle box she checked if it was expensive or sentimental :-)

I also really loved when Sheldon was doing his driving lesson on the computer and the gang were all around him, he pretended to put on his seat belt and wanted to know if he got into an accident how would he know if the airbag got deployed and Penny said don't worry you will know. then he crashed the car and a few moments went by and she picked up a pillow and hit him in the face with it. That was one of her best. IMPO

The thing I love most about Penny is how sweet and affectionate she is with the boys almost from the start. With that in mind, it's hard to take in the fact that she was what coming-of age movies and tv-shows classifies as a "Mean girl" in highschool.

I think the BEST part she screwed with Sheldon was when they were fighting and he complained to her boss that she wouldn't serve him in the restaurant she worked. She then gave him his burger and said: "Go ahead, Sheldon, eat it. I DARE you!"

That ball kick was felt by every man on the planet. It was like a million voices suddenly cried out in terror.

Penny may not be the brightest in academics, but she was honest most times and helped the guys to get out of there shells and face the world while not losing the core of who they are 😊😊

Penny's evolution from snarky neighbor to snarky good friend.. is one of the many great aspects of this show. At the beginning, I doubt anyone would have thought Penny and Sheldon would become good friends (least of all Penny and Sheldon)... but they do. LOVE every interaction.

Her most savage is when she shoots Howard down when he thinks he is flirting with her.

“Well, your Ken can kiss my Barbie” that is my favorite one 😂

@msmojo There's another one that I thought should be mentioned. Beverly told Leonard that his father cheated on her with a waitress. She told Penny no offense dear and Penny replied, "No... That sounded like a compliment." It happened so fast a lot of people didn't catch it but that's my other favorite line from Penny!

Regardless, of what Leonard said in the episode about Amy’s parents, they are in their way to becoming his and even AMY’S parents. The stupid joke about how he FUCKING FLINCHES from Penny made me want to PUNCH the writers. WTF 🤬. That joke was SHIT in screen. The writers clearly forgot how comfortable and gentle they were when they hugged or cuddled after a discussion or dialogue that had meaning between them. Like the episode about Alex asking Leonard out, or the Bath item Christmas episode? The writers OBVIOUSLY have amnesia. The fact that she wants Beverly to like her, is a red flag. Can I recommend something to you where she doesn’t become a terrible person? “What could have been”, by son-goku5. It like 95% from Penny’s POV, and both her and Leonard have WAY better development. She’s more genuinely in love with him. And believe it or not, he does something AWESOME, that make her love him even more. A recurring gag is that when Howard or Sheldon screw up as either a boyfriend/husband, she turns to Leonard and says “Okay, what went wrong?” It’s actually really funny. 😂

Since she was from Nebraska I'm surprised she didn't clock Howard (can't have that kind of violence I suppose. Although she was very effective when it came to getting the items back from the hacker). Forgot, she did once ('slipped' in the bathtub, yeh).

It's especially more enjoyable knowing she's the same voice as Brady on brandy and mr whiskers. One had to deal with an annoying stupid person and the other had to deal with an annoying smart person. I love the ironic similarities.

Agree on Penny and her importance to TBBT. My favorite scene was her thoughtfulness when Leonard Nemoy was at the CheeseCake Factory and she got him to sign his napkin for Sheldon. We got to see Sheldon's first hug.

@@Boom_Bianca being “number one” in tv and movies is meaningless and moot. It’s completely biased, and not true. Just like how rotten tomatoes is not a good evaluation of movies. The only reason TBBT went on after seasons eight was due to ratings (that’s one of the worst reasons to drag out a show; it slowly kills the thing that made it popular. The last four seasons were absolute GARBAGE. Penny and Leonard were my favorite characters, and they were RUINED). Just because lots of people watch a show, doesn’t mean that they should ignore the story itself. Instead they said, “How can we drag this out?”. Amateurs. Watch FRIENDS instead.

Penny's masterful use of sarcasm basically turned the guys from introverted into somewhat socially people

I understood why people hated Penny to a degree, she was very hypocritical when it came to her even using the guys to her own benefits but gets mad at the other lady for doing the same for years (especially when she says she could’ve dated Raj just to use him to pay off her debts), “torturing” Leonard from time to time with his feelings, even in marriage she says she married for “love” but says it in a way of regretful, and almost hooks up with half of the guys in the group (Leonard, Raj, Stewart)

She’s a great reflection of Sheldon’s relationship with Missy

The last one... She gave him new orbitals.

The only thing that could've made the last one better is if Penny said "You better cough up his stuff with that vomit!"

I was glad their #1 was the same as mine.

Penny must have been related to Sophia Potrillo with how much shade she threw, not just at the guys but everyone in the show

HA L! Yeah right! She became a HORRIBLE person in the end. The last four seasons, Penny had negative vibes coming from her. She disrespects Leonard and his personality, she constantly glared at him, and told him to shut up, and do what she said. The camera quality as well as Kaley’s drop in likability ruined Penny: I used to like her, but she became the worst. She became Bernadette both financially and how they treat their respective spouses. Also, I don’t care what anyone says: she’s DUMB, in the last four seasons. The one line that made me hate both the writers and the actress is what she said about physic: “…is hard but isn’t that what makes it boring?” Can I recommend something to you, where Penny doesn’t become an unlikable shrew that will one day become Beverly?

I agree that when Penny kicks that guy in the balls has to be her most savage moment, and one of her best moments.
