Fun fact: In one of the deleted scene of Scar's death, simba took the fall instead of Scar after accepting his surrender, but Simba survives, and Scar thinking he's dead, maniacally laughs and is ingulfed in flames on pride rock. They removed and cut that scene from the film, due to it being too dark and terrifying, especially for the mainstream audience.

When I was a kid I was mostly shocked by the deaths of Ursula, Clayton, Tarzan's parents, Dr. Facilier, Maleficent and Frollo. I also wasn't really fazed or terrified by a lot of deaths from Disney, not even as I continued to watch all the countless Disney films in my enormous collection and as I got older. I actually still find myself pretty forlorn by the death of Mufasa, with its dramatic musical score and the scream of agony by Mufasa himself as well as the cry of terror by Simba I can't help but feel utter pain and sadness every time I see it.

Sure, Disney had to tone it down a _tad,_ as in all other versions, Frollo is an Archdeacon (roughly equivalent to a Priest-- but being _Notre Dame's_ Archdeacon, that's like being mayor of _New York City,_ vs mayor of, say; _Albany,_ NY). They should have kept the teeth of showing the hypocrisy of the Church and religion and kept Frollo's title as such, but instead of having to deal with the backlash of revealing a christian leader as the bad people they can be, they made him a judge instead.

"giving her an all-powerful triton..." *Trident,* not triton. Triton is the name of the character. His weapon is a trident. Also, I'm surprised you didn't mention another tragic death in Tarzan - the baby gorilla, killed by the same leopard who kills Tarzan's parents.

We don't even see Elsa and Ana's parents' deaths; Bambi's mom and Mufasa's deaths were more horrific. Shan Yu and Syndro's deaths were more comedic than anything. Clayton's death was definitely the most terrifying. Disney villains falling to their death is a common trope as it's supposed to represent their fall from power.

I think they meant most brutal deaths. Not terrifying. Top actual terrifying deaths. 6. Syndrome, died scrambling in terror 5. Hopper, died screaming facing his worst fear 4. Dr. Facilie, screaming while dragged to hell 3. Scar, mauled and eaten while alive in even if we only see the shadows. 2. Horned king skin and soul ripped from his bones. 1. Doom run over by a steam roller AND melted, both while screaming in agony. These were terrifying because we say them happen. Most of the high rankings are brutal but the actual death is not seen, only implied.

A lot of these deaths were pretty terrifying! For me, personally, Ursula's death scared me most when I was a little girl. That sudden zoom-in on her face when she gets impaled startled the daylights out of me! Then all that lightning flashed, and we saw her skeleton as she started sinking into the sea.... This scene doesn't affect me as much as it used to anymore, but it's still really damn dark!
