US visa policy is much stricter than EU and 3 Asian countries visa policy. That will certainly reduce the number of countries willing to give US passport holder the visa free access.

I like how more than half is just EU passports

Ah yes, the benefits of living in an _actual_ free country, not the one that's always shouting about being the only free country in the world.

To date, I've been fortunate enough to travel to 71 countries and that process has been made considerably easier thanks to my British passport 🇬🇧 My wife is Jordanian and her passport is an absolute nightmare; we can't visit many of the world's countries due to the excruciating application processes that are required 🇯🇴 Fortunately, we live in Amsterdam and in a few years she'll be eligible for a Dutch passport 🇳🇱

I'm a South African / British dual-national. I specifically went through a process to get my British passport because my South African one comes with too much baggage.

Totally wrong because a lot of those passports are tied.

Schengen area is also the nice large one in europe where citizens of member states dont even need the passport to visit each other. id card is sufficient :)

There is an proper list of Most Powerful passports where visas are only 1 of 4 different criteria. Switzerland is currently top of the list, with USA tied for 44th (placing it only 7 above the bottom of the list and below ALL European countries.)

The real way to assess which passport is the most powerful is to calculate the net total between the number of countries the passport was allowed visa free access and the number of countries were allowed to visit the country of the passport without visa.

ireland will retain visa free travel to both britain and europe making it most powerful passport

Each country has its; own passport, they are just part of a multinational agreement that allows visa-free travel requiring a sticker on your travel documents or stamp in your passport.

No! Singapore is an independent english speaking country. They also practice government mandated corporal punishment. I know this because i was alive to remember when that teenage son of a wealthy american executive was arrested and caned for tagging cars. Bill Clinton and Janet Reno got his punishment negotiated down to 6 lashes on the bare bum and upper legs. Even as an 11 year old kid i had zero sympathy for him.

I don't know where you got the info but, as of 2023, Italian passport is more powerful than German and France ones -- which I believe are both below Japan passport too. In any case this is "falsified" data as European Union countries' citizens haven't needed passports to go from a EU member country to another (other forms of government-issued identifications like Italian Carta di Identita being enough) since the 1990s.

This passport index is misleading and needs to be looked at with grain of salt. The top 20 countries is mainly EU countries plus 3 Asian countries. The reason is their generous visa policy allowing more countries visiting them visa free. On the contrary, country like US and Canada is much more stricter on the number of countries allowed visa free access. Suppose US and Canada would allow more countries with visa free access, the list of countries their passport can visit will certainly increase.

The passport index takes in to account several factors, not just visas. There are only 3 European "countries" that rank lower than the US: Andorra, San Marino and Vatican City

the ranking may change as soon ETIAS is in action. visa free to schengen will be off the table unless you are citizen of its member states itself, so it is "minus 27" or so for the rest of the world. as USA enforces ESTA europe will enforce ETIAS. visa waiver programs both, but definitely not visa free anymore. ETIAS list is much larger with ~60 countries eligible to apply.

Well, no. The official list (which this video did not use) places the US 7th from the bottom.

Again, Spain is much more than fiesta, beach, and sangria. In Madrid, the average temperature in winter is 7 degrees. WE have beautiful green landscapes in the center and the north of the country. Galicia, Cantabria, the Principality of Asturias and the Basque Country are pure celtic nations with unique cultures, that are fully covered in snow during winter. Please stop talking just about flamenco and sunny beaches, we are much more than that, and most of us (spaniards) we don't feel represented by this stereotypes.
