Such a huge YuYu Hakusho fan so I’m glad to see Yusuke Urameshi make the list. To see his journey from just brute strength to the spirit gun to becoming a Mazoku was something to watch and his fights in the dark tournament were epic especially Toguro then his last fight with Sensui was top notch!

I sometimes forget that the nickname originated from Black Lagoon 😅 Since I was a big fan of the show in my teens, I took to calling my wife "Revy" because her name is Rebekah, and yeah, it stuck like crazy, so now it's a daily thing I say hahaha.

Guts. Why do we even ask? He is the chairman of the round table of badasses with black air force energy.

Revy, Vash, Spike Spiegel and Alucard are my personal favorite anime protagonists because of how awesome the gunfights they participate in are. Nothing like a badass gunfight to start the day.

All shonen jump main protagonists are badasses

Heavily centred around classic anime, this list. Don't get me wrong, all these series are incredible. But if we're talking specifically about "badass" protags, some of the recent titles have given us a few MCs that are far more "badass" than some of the MCs of these classic anime. Just talking about badass MCs in isolation, without taking how good the series is in consideration.

That would be cool, I think Zoro from One Piece should be on that list.

Guts is so influential, you can see the shadow of him in every souls-ring game, including the bestest boy in Elden Ring.

Not a bad list, but could’ve used at least one more female protagonist besides Revy. My choice would be Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

When it comes to this list of badass characters these are definitely the characters that you want fighting alongside rather than against. Especially with characters like Kenshiro & Guts

I think Vash is conditionally badass. Sometimes he's really silly and goofy, but when put in a corner, he really shows his skill.

As I opened this video I said to myself “the #1 spot is gonna be jotaro kenshiro or guts”

My favourite badass anime protagonist is Mikazuki Augus from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans. He may seem cold & emotionless on the outside but on the inside he cares for his allies & friends & family. Just don’t be an enemy of him, tekkadan or any others of his allies or else he’ll beat you to a brutal pulp with his Gundam Barbatos, Gundam Barbatos Lupus or Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex! I also like Orga Itsuka from the same series & Mikazuki & the rest of Tekkadan wouldn’t be who they are without Orga being with them throughout their time together both on & off the battlefield. I really miss everyone in the Tekkadan organization. They didn’t deserve the tragic end of their organization or the deaths of their members that died in the series. Rest in peace Tekkadan. 😭

Perhaps you'd already know, but Chad Stahelski was inspired by Cowboy Bebop when creating John Wick. Chad is also currently doing fight choreography for a new anime called "Lazarus," that happens to be from Cowboy Bebop's creator.

Dark Schneider is one of the coolest and most badass anime protagonist IV been seen. You know how refreshing it is to have a harem protagonist that actually wants to and does hit it.

Maaan Drifters had such a cool concept and was such a badass show too bad we probably will never get a season 2 😥

Idk, man wouldn't call them badasses, only one with a slight claim is Tanjiro as he can actually fight, but he doesn't give off badass energy if you get what I mean. Eren is just an average fighter and only reason he has such a massive kill count is because he basically just pressed the big red extinction button... Light is literally just about manipulation and brains, he could hardly beat a 6th grader in an actual fight and in the end he even got outsmarted by a child so...

Glad to see Guts at number one. How do you even compare some of the epic one liners during the series. Guts: My sword has gotten very dull. However, it's three times as thick and does three times the damage of a normal sword. You'd better pray you die quickly, or this could be painful. Guts: Huh? What’s that you say? So there are still 50 of you left standing? At this rate, it’ll be dawn before I can crack open all of your skulls. "Grins menacingly." I mean damn, thats in one battle and not only does he say it he proceeds to do it. 🤘

Im glad that Gene Starwind at least got some admiration for Outlaw Star. Also were is Anos Voldigoad? He should have been in the top 5 at least

I am shocked that Gene Starwind made this list Outlaw Star do not get much love, but there is so many more that could of been added on this list such as Hajmi from Arifureta, Naruto who kicked Ichigo's butt in a deathbattle, Maou from The Devil is a Part timmer just to name a few.

Dark Schneider, Revy, Kenshiro, and Alucard are here nice Dark Schneider is badass and underrated waiting for Bastard!! seasons 2. Same with revy needs a season 4 of Black Lagoon, her and Dark Schneider 2 of them didn't end their series yet unlike Alucard and Kenshiro are already finished.

Forgot one thing about Guts that wasn't said. But if you read the manga you'd know. He was raped as a child. Sold to a pedo soldier in the group by his own father figure because he was jealous of Guts's talent and wanted to break him. And yes, he also just flat out ganked the guy in battle as soon as he could. I think it was actually the straw that broke the camel's back for the band leader father figure who flat out tried killed him himself but got killed by Guts and everyone thought Guts was a betrayer. Man all of Berzerk is just one giant fuck you to Guts. Poor guy :/

How could you omit Balsa, the badass spear wielder from Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit? She's as tough a yojimbo as ever existed in media. And the anime is excellently written and animated.

Holy shit... how did I not think of #1 that's literally my fave anime/manga lol. I guess I've just subsectioned it off to a manga only story at this point since I don't think we'll ever get a good adaptation.

A few names that should’ve been on the list: Luffy and Zoro from One Piece; Sanzo, Goku,Gojyo and Hakkai from Gensoumaden Saiyuki; Kyoya Hibari from Katekyo Hitman Reborn; Sasuke from Naruto; Goku and Vegeta from Dragonball; Killua from Hunter X Hunter; Seiya from Saint Seiya….and these are the first that came to my mind - and yes, I know some of them are not protagonists….but neither are Revy or Simon.

I'm surprised Cobra, the man with the Psychogun didn't make the list, but for the most part i agree.
