Batman Arkham series has 4 games in the series and no 3D mario game has a trilogy. They ignored metal gear series, it has total of 6 main entries including peace Walker.

@@lkrocks4386 He didn’t specify 3D Mario. The original Super Mario Bros Games are a trilogy. Arkham origins is by many not considered official part of the Arkham Games by Roxateady. Also watchmojo included multiple franchises (almost all of them) which have more entries than just three so your point is absolutely meaningless in the context of this discussion.

Definitely Mass Effect for me. I just completed my Legendary Edition playthrough and man those final hours of ME3 hit me harder than any game I've ever played. "Controversial" ending be damned.

Even though I'm not really a fan of the original and extended cut endings I will admit Mass effect 3 is still my favorite of the series.

As awesome as MGS is and should be on every list. It's not a trilogy because there's more than 3 games. It would be like calling GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas a trilogy just because they were on the same console.

MGS isn’t a trilogy, since 4 was arguably the final game in the series. Phantom Pain was a spin-off prequel imo. But I agree with you on Crash Bandicoot and certainly deserved a place in this list.

@@wrought-ironheroEMIYA Nothing wrong with 4 at all. For me it's the best Uncharted game, however Uncharted isn't a trilogy anymore due to the fourth game in Nathan Drake's story. Well, I guess it could be a trilogy if you name it like "Uncharted PS3 trilogy"

@@Desekratedd honestly, I don't think I did. I got to play the entire trilogy in a single stretch, with the best performance. All DLC. All updates. I'm also older now, so I'm WAY more appreciative of a damn good story and characters. Young me wouldn't have realised how much I love Garrus, Tali and Wrex. I'm glad I played it like this, and now I don't have to wait too long for the next game

@@volrogue I have to agree, If you only just get to play and experience Mass Effect now, you haven't missed out. I remember after three feeling really dirty with the series but now after playing them all again for like the 10th time each I have a new appreciation for the series as a whole and found myself enjoying ME2 the most now. The story felt much better too, I guess I could understand the key moments and the pressure of the war better and the relations between characters felt way better now as an adult.

I’m still waiting to play The Legendary Trilogy

The “Tomb Raider” Survivor trilogy, the “Assassin’s Creed” Ezio trilogy, the “Dead Space” trilogy, and the “Mass Effect” trilogy are definitely my favorite video game trilogies.

My only complaint is that the original "Ratchet & Clank" trilogy should have at least gotten an honorable mention. It was tons of fun, and was considered one of the best games next to the Jak & Daxter trilogy. Also, how could you forget Batman Arkham series???

Yeah, I love God of War, but if you play the original trilogy and nothing else, you miss a ton of backstory and extra lore that expands on Kratos' motives, otherwise he's just an angry asshole. I consider GoW a series, not a trilogy.

@@birdplane1138 To each their own - I enjoy the God of War trilogy, but I always feel you're missing the entire package if you don't play the other games. When I replay God of War I go through all of them, not just the first three, which is an amazing experience. Halo is good, but not a fan of the first one. I really like Reach though.

Thought for sure the Nintendo SMB trilogy would be #1.

Prince of Persia, Dead Space, Crysis, Gears of War are my favorite. The original Mortal Kombat trilogy was fantastic too

The mass effect trilogy is my favorite all time. Best experience I've had gaming besides rdr2. Gears trilogy was amazing same with halo but mass effect was perfect for a true gamer.

Okay, I can get the likes of the Metro or Borderlands trilogy not making the list, but no Arkham? Or the recent Hitman games? Or The Witcher?

The EarthBound/Mother trilogy honestly should've been in this list. While EarthBound Beginnings/Mother is not as good as EarthBound/Mother 2 and Mother 3, it's still a good game itself despite being an NES game. It's really one of those trilogies where it's flawless, meaning no actual bad game at all.

The Modern warfare trilogy deserves an honorable mention for its action, story, and impact on the FPS genre (Even though MW3 was hated for being to similar to MW2)

I have a feeling that the Ratchet and Clank and Crash Bandicoot Trilogy should've also made this list

I'm really glad you decided to include the Spyro trilogy, especially in the top 10! All the others were great choices as well, although I was surprised you didn't include the Sly trilogy, either of the Ratchet and Clank trilogies, or the Crash bandicoot trilogy, but maybe that's just my inner sony fanboy coming out. I was also a little disappointed in no Paper Mario but I can also understand why.

The opening Seinfeld quote was awesome

I loved Origins, I liked Dragon Age II. I really loved Inquisition. The trilogy are one of the best RPGs of all time in my opinion.

I mean it was based off of the book series and has held true to the story, set up a continuous world and lore theme, didn't stray off the path in terms of gameplay and all three of the games are equally good and now the entire trilogy has been graphically enhanced over the years to be even better. I'd of put it up there with Halo, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Dark Souls as one of the best of all time. Spyro gets a special mention from me because its more of a nostalgia trip then something I find fun to play over and over.

Problem with Metro is much the same with Witcher, first 2 games were not widely played then bam mass industry appeal 3rd game

Simple choice that needed to expand further into a trilogy. Legend of Dragoon. Incredible game and the graphics for the time were remarkable. At the very least, a reboot is needed.

As much as I played GoW trilogy religiously for a time, it doesn't deserve to be #1. Either Bioshock or Halo trilogy. Those games were revolutionary and masterclass in game design. But GoW trilogy is definitely top 5.

Given how big it got, I'd put Mass Effect at number 1. As fun as God of War is, it isn't groundbreaking.

Excuse me but what about the NES Mario trilogy of SMB 1-3? Regardless of which version of Mario 2, That is more of a landmark than any other trilogy here. How could you not put it here????

An honorable mention should have been the Pac-Man World trilogy. I love the second game so much that it is one of my most nostalgic games for me.

Mass Effect is the best trilogy ever, and Mass Effect 2 is the best game ever. Whoever decided Donkey Kong was better needs sacking on grounds of being an idiot.

Yeah. I didnt like the batmobile aspects of Arkham Knight so id take origins in the trilogy over AK 😂

Max Payne, borderlands, cod black ops, cod modern warfare, red dead (revolver, redemption 1 and 2)

Don’t forget the Sly Cooper trilogy guys. Some of the most enjoyable platforming experiences I’ve ever encountered.

Really loved all the Metro games..the horror element in 2033 and redux will keep u on your toes..and the story telling is just astounding.

It was a good rpg but definitely not the best rpg of all time, still really good though but it's just completely subjective on what we view as the best

@@ryancadek they had final fantasy developers make it under Nintendo licensing. A unique and amazing outcome of a game. It was perfect. But yea, subjective to opinion of course. But I saw 0 flaws in that game. And that's hard to say about any game. It was truly perfect.

Damn if it wasn´t for that horrible and patetic end of Mass Effect 3 the trilogy would have been perfect, the first game was awesome, the second was marvellous and the third begin with an amazing note but the ending screw everything

I don't condemn 60+ hours of a trilogy because of a bad ending that, quite frankly, people blew out of proportion anyway.

The Witcher 1 is terrible. It's clunky, filled with boring quests and its visuals have aged as well as a sack of tomatoes exposed to the hot sun for years on end.

Literally from the first second I already knew this was a proper list, acknowledging the king.
