Escudo PPV in Gran Turismo 2 is so OP even against Toyota Tacoma PPV.

Fun fact: the STP Taisan Viper was actually a V8 powered Viper due to BTCC rules back when it raced in those events. Officials didn't like how it dominated the series including the Godzilla R32's and Porsche GT2 RTR's, so the official's forced a displacement change to hinder performance but that still failed 😁

The Vauxhall Tigra Ice Race Car (specifying because the Opel might perform differently looking at the Calibra) got me through the latter half of the game, not the fastest car maybe but quick enough, accelerates stupid fast and turns SO well with its 4WD! I also just love the livery it holds.

I think Opel Tigra Ice Race Car can be also right car to use in GT WORLD LEAGUE with proper tuning.

Possibly the best driving game ever made. The ingame second hand market was huge. My first car was a Mazda 323 and I got my moneys worth out of it😁

@@purwantiallan5089 Yeah, that Supra rocks for the price point. So much HP right out of the gate. Sure, it weighs a ton, but you can focus on other things like tires and transmission before getting into the more expensive engine/turbo upgrades.

With how disappointed i am with GT7, ive been doing nothing but playing GT3 and 4 on my emulator and watching GT2 vids. Thanks to that, the algorithm has blessed me with this vid. Awesome stuff man! Getting duckstation installed tonight and reliving my early childhood

If I can give one word about the Toyota GT-One, you have one more option to obtain one. The 1998 spec car can be acquired by winning the GT World Championship. Only trouble being it’s one of 4 prize cars. Still, if you can’t gold the S license, and you want the race version, it’ll do just fine.

I love the STP Taisan Viper GT so much, to the point where I've recreated it in GT7 as closely as I could possibly make it, utilizing the '02 Viper GTS as a basis. It's easily become one of my favoured American cars and my only regret is not driving it more... but that does require you to get lucky with the prize for the GT500 Championship.

5:15 Bonkers how a race car was in arcade mode. I also feel lucky to have seen one irl, actually going across the British Channel on the same ferry as my family when we went on holiday a couple years ago.

Nice list, I had finished this game numerous time and yet despite that I know I probably didn't get my hand on all cars available... My personal favorite will forever be the HKS Drag 180SX, for its ridiculous horse power and acceleration, with that golden Renault S Class monospace coming close second although it's hard to drive

This made for an easy watch, keep it up!

Good list. Sadly some cars somehow lost their character they had in GT2 (Nissan Pulsar GTi R, Eclipse), still there is plenty of good cars. I love Nissan March Super Turbo and Starlet 87 :D

Looks like more and more people are finding this 2 year old video. Kinda wish the vid on the first game got a similar treatment as I vastly prefer that one but it's still cool to see progress on this one. I said in the description that I'll make a top 10 Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec cars at 500 subscribers. We are getting very close to that and I'm bumping it to a top 12, but I'll admit it's getting really hard to script these. I'm more of a circuit guy overall when it comes to racing games and finding stuff to say about the cars I like feels rather limiting whenever I'm only truly passionate about a few cars. I'm still gonna stick to my promise however and I'll make sure that countdown gets made in time!

I always love Dodge Viper. How many Viper did we have there? GTS, RT/10, GTS-R (non Oreca), GTS-R Team Oreca, SRT Taisan Viper GT. Five. Copperhead is not included since it is Viper's concept model. I love Viper since I saw the film Viper Defender. But let's not forget the Escudo Pikes Peak. It's a monster.

Yoshiko Tsushima's STP TAISAN VIPER GT500 is a very underrated car in Gran Turismo 2 alongside the 1998 GT-ONE ROAD CAR.

My favourite car in GT2 I found recently is the TVR Chimaera 4.5. Some crazy Brit decided to throw a Rover V8 in a car that is just slightly heavier than a Miata, it makes 290HP, making it really viable on 295HP limit races, sounds like a truck and it´s quite cheap at 50K Cr... oh, and It can even keep up in 390HP limit races.

HP limits are a little broken. You can basically just do all handling tuning, weight reduction and race mods and it becomes pretty broken.

RX7 LM for sure. I'd also include Concept Car LM, Del Sol LM, and Lotus Elise LM....Those were my top picks at end game.

The race modified Elise GT1 is potentially in the top 5 and arguably 3rd behind the Escudo and Speed 12, but damn you really need to tune it properly otherwise it's pretty undriveable.

@@ShiningJudgment666 agreed. Obviously the escudo could brute force about anything. But for the Elise, somehow I had that thing dialed in for red rock valley. I'd set a time and save a ghost to bring to my friends house where 6 or 8 of us would all gather. That was one car/time/track nobody could beat me on. Several tried for hours. It did have to be dead on tuned I remember that.

The Daihatsu Midget better be number one! :P

I been playing gt2 day one i still have my copy unfortunately i lost my 697 days of game play i had every car that you could fit in the garage my number 1 car out of them all was the 526hp silver dodge concept car aka the copper head the big wing wonder destroy everything but you did list alot of great cars 🎉🎉🎉🎉

TVR Speed 12 engine sound might be worth a mention.

One car I wish had returned was the Tommykaira R. The highest horsepower of any stock 4WD, could be tuned to 655 HP, and could even rally a little. It was my favorite car until I got the Silhouette.

Why is it that when you shop for this car its 591HP 14:21 then when you go to get in it in garage its jumped to 593 HP 14:00 You cannot use it them in GT300.

I used that gold S14 sylvia racecar a lot in career mode

It's because I used an Elgato HD capture card I which my setup doesn't result in great quality. Thankfully, I have an HD60 capture card, which yields better results, so future videos won't look this bad. If you want better quality GT2 vids, I recommend TeaKanji.

I can't forget how utterly BROKEN the GT40 LM was. Sub-495 Buff Horses, Lightweight, MR drivetrain, and the kind of car that outrun it's opponents with 200+ HP higher than that.

And the Alfa Romeo 155?? One of the iconic tourims cars in the world...

Lister storm v12 (modified to race car version) is quite underrated :((. One of my favorite cars cuz It's challenging + that 7.0L v12 engine (honestly, it sounds like toyota gt1 without turbo when tuning to racing muffler, sounds Super good on replays)

Definitely really good but also still really heavy. Good tuning makes it pretty respectable to the point you can beat the harder packs of cars.

Escudo is like cheat code for GT2 :D

The Toyota soarer was an hidden gem.

One of my faves was the Lotus Elise GT1.

Surprised Lancer Evo 6 didn't make it into this list. Definitely best car for newbie, easy to handle, fast, and not that heavy. The only downside is the turbo upgrade which is limited to level 3 and 5 speed transmission, makes it underwhelming for Turbo Tuned No.1 race at Test Course.

As with my other videos on this topic, this list is all subjective. I knew that the Evo 5 and 6 were really good cars to use throughout the game, but I'm not necessarily an Evo guy myself, being more of an Impreza fan.

I still don't understand why I struggled overtaking race cars in a championship using a fully tuned and race modified Dodge Viper GTS when I was a child, that Viper has the highest hp of all Vipers, even higher than the Toyota GT-ONE race car's hp.

Power to weight is a thing and a lot of the time, even race modified cars don't truly compete with the proper race cars of the game. Also your tuning. The GT One is very light and has good power but a Viper even with greater power weighs more. Also, the road-going versions of the GT One and both R390s despite having more power than their racing counterparts fall short due to worse handling due to their downforce not being able to be tuned. On straight lines and once fixing their gearing, they'll dominate though.

The Honda logo is the best car in the car I promise you do it up 190 hp keep gears standard 1 speed it awesome

PD should really remake GT2 for PC.. With onlina capabilities and all.. Other than that.. no Cusco 😳? no Amemiya.. 😱 ? Suzuki Escudo.. a.k.a. the barbarian.. It eats everything rolling on a track

I had the FTO LM in my garage for years. I even did a review on it on another channel. I just prefer other cars.
