That we let Seiko still get away with that hardlex nonsense given how common and affordable sapphire is these days is beyond me. Some people really do buy into it being more shatter resistant. So I get making a few watches with it, but they insist on making so damn many of their watches with that nonsense. (Mineral crystals might be less prone to shattering in terms of their structure, but that's basically flexibility vs hardness, on a watch face it's too thick and small in diameter for flex to come into play on a hard impact. Could come into play for something like a phone screen though.)

So I was going to say I love you and hate you Jodi for temptation but it's more accurate to say I love you and my wife tolerates the consequences of that affection. Great list this year!

Baltany is the best. I have the 1926 homage and it's gorgeous. I hate "homage" watches, where you pretend to be something that you are not and then have the watch which every time you look at reminds you of the sad fact. But this little gem..... nobody knows what it is. Buy the one with gold accents and be blown away.

I adore my 1970 Steeldive.

Ohhh I got the Pagani GMT, Didn't realise when I got it that it had the NH34 movement :).. awesome video today! Don't usually like GMT's, but wanted a watch with the world time zones on the bezel for a while, and being as black and red and blue are my favourite colours and they do this in a variety of colours I had to go for the black n red, and it happens to be the one you covered too!

I've used the transformer to work but I work in a Toy store so it is very apropiate. 😂

I still use my Cadisen C1032 as a dress watch (put a leather strap on it). I ended up getting a Blue Tissot Gentlemen to "replace" it, though I still find good use for it when I want a silver dial. Still the best bang for buck watch I ever bought, especially after I regulated it to keep much better time. If you haven't pick one up, I highly recommend it.

Brilliant Video Dr J, one of the best I have seen. I am going to watch it again tomorrow. I love the Chronos (Rolex Look alike ) ........side note I have this watch buzzing around in my head from our good friend Dave from Japan and it's the latest Vario. It's 700 US and about $800 US on the bracelet. Cheers.

It's a good feeling to have those "homages" from big brands sponsored by pagani on ur wrist but we all know what happens to them after a few months 😅😂🤣..u should include the pagani "longines spirit" look alike!😃

I'd give an honorable mention to the Heimdallr Monster line. Excellent watches that are frankly better than the originals. And at around $150-$170 USD. Some of the colorways are also unique and complement the originals nicely.

I got the Guanqin in 2-tone and replaced the hands with dauphine hands. Totally elevates the look! An easy upgrade for under $10. Pair it with a nice brown leather strap for $20 and it ends up looking like a $200 watch.

This watches are unbelievable affordable. I ask myself how they can do that. Thank you for showing.

I learnt more from this video than watching others for 3 months. Thank you for your work! 😊

Hruodland have a nice chronograph version of that one called the Flyback. The reason I prefer it to the Thorn is the shorter lugs, Thorn's 50mm rather flat lug to lug just doesn't look good on my 7 1/4 inch wrist. It is a bit more expensive though at around €190.

My favorite watch right now is " Sugess Day Date " ( I love any good Rolex day date homage) . Just classic. Pagani Design have a Day date as well.

I must say I've gotthat Sugess Revival, its a beauty.

The “sugges revival” has disappeared, and the link leads to a similar watch from the same brand, but with another round case, not a square one. I have searched for it without success on Aliexpress. a shame.

Good job! Although I already bought 16 watches this year and swore not to buy any more this year, I'll go have a look. I love that teal pilot's watch by SM.

The Sanda Tank is also a must buy. Was able to cop one, with a hugely discounted price at only 3£

18:43 - 20:50 I will 100% vouch for the baltany chrono and the San Martin pilot-style. Both truly fantastic watches at the $150 price point. I'd also recommend the San Martin dual bezel GMT. Great dimensions, original design, and if you can find the old design with the timing outer bezel, it's a true GADA watch.

I have the pagani 'Phillipe' and its absolutely incredible. It looks amazing on wrist and I"ve had a bunch of people ask after it while I've been wearing it. For the price its easily the best value watch I have.

The Cronos is a definite keeper. I bought one and an equivalent San Martin about a year ago. The San Martin went lame after about 5 months. The Cronos is still going strong and it is both comfortable and it's solid as a rock. Cronos is quickly becoming my favorite Chinese watch brand. I can't wait to put it head-to-head with the Erebus when it gets here.

I have that one on a blue ostrich leg strap, it works really well and sets off that long blued second hand beautifully. I think Baltany's take on the old bubble back cases is excellent, I have two of them and want to get two more in the sale.

Really fun episode. I really need to get me one of the Steeldive Willards, put a nice tropic on it, and wear it all summer. The Lobini was really interesting, they did a great job catching the design and vibe of an old-school German deck watch. Thinking of the Dekla. And that powder blue Doxa homage, oh my…nice.

I took advantage of the 11/11 sale and ordered Steeldive 1970 and the PD moonwatch. They both arrived today and very sad that PD sent me the wrong watch. The Steeldive is very nice for the money though. Wish I had received the correct PD.

An idea for a future video: "good crystal vs bad crystal". We can all look up exactly what is the difference between the variants, pros & cons; having it explained with examples of what we're looking at, is priceless.

I came up with 4 watches to buy yesterday, the 11th, adding the last one partly to take advantage of the highest level discount coupon. Glad I pulled the trigger yesterday because today (the 12th) the big coupon is no longer available to me. So something I don't recall hearing from any KZread watch types is that the real good sale is only for one day. Now things don't look nearly so attractive. Like your channel BTW.

Be sure to investigate the reviews on that one, multiple reports that on some of these the "jump" doesn't take place at the correct time, but can happen several minutes before or after the minute hand crosses 60. Whether that's a big deal is kinda up to the customer, but I would personally find it annoying. "Let's see... watch says ~10:58, but it jumps 4 minutes early, so really it's ~9:58..." I'm sure you'd get used to it, but no thanks. Manufacturer is aware of the issue and does not consider these watches to be defective or outside specifications, it's just normal tolerances for the movement design. (So no warranty repair/replace if your copy is jumping 5 minutes early/late.)
