It's weird I avoided this game because at the time I heard all the negativity around quiet and the story so I just kind of forgot about it. I'm playing it now though and it's amazing the amount of freedom you have and the feeling you get infiltrating bases is peak metal Gear. I love this game

@@anonony9081 Yeah. Frankly I don't care that the story sucks. It's one of the best games gameplay wise EVER MADE. Every Metal Gear game was amazing for it's own reasons, Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 for being ahead of their time, MGS3 For... Everything. Metal Gear Solid 4 for tieing up loose ends, Ground Zeroes to hype the game back up, and MGSV for it's AMAZING gameplay. I've never seen such a great game in all of my life. Absolutely Incredible, I'm gonna S rank all the Missions.

Same borrowed it from a friend cuz his copy was collecting dust Jan 2021 and so fucking glad I did. Play it every day and luckily PSnow has MGS 4 and the HD collection MGS 3 Snakeeater is on the same level of depth, fun and time consumption. Just scooped up the apparently terrible hunk of shit MGS Survive for $4 cuz I now love this franchise. Yes I'm aware way to late as Konami pretty much plugged the plug...idiots

I need to re-download this game. I just got a notification for a comment I left here over a year ago, and damn this game is good. By the time I stopped playing and went to Warzone, I think I'd notched up around 300 hours on this game. 🤣 Fully upgraded bases, nuclear warhead, pretty much everything unlocked. I think it's worth another look.

You taught me some stuff, and I'm an Army veteran.. I've been playing MGSV: PHANTOM PAIN since release....on PS3, PS4 and now looking fabulous AF on PS5....When I transfered from PS4 to PS5....It kept the years of materials but NOT the save info, this is the only game i don't mind starting over....BUT this time I have 3 or 4 systems of GMP about 40 million to be exact...and plenty of materials 💪🏾❤

Thank you for 1,000 subscribers! This video was two weeks of just editing (45+ hours), not including 60 hours of playtime on PS4 for the footage. Lots of detail, over 110 retakes total to record audio segments and bits in order to get the strategies and the timing of what's happening on the footage. Some humor is thrown in, but not too much. And I really believe this has a level of polish that looks good, has some nice graphics (though basic), and everything moves along rather fast, without wasting your time with stuff you dont need to know. Share it with friends that struggle with this game, then I'll see you all in the comments with what i messed up on:)

i will try this again when i get a chance. Its been a long time since i tried it, and i remember thinking the same thing once, but I believe extracting by heli "ends" the mission. Any farming method seems to require you to get containers, get the autosave, and then abort mission. This is what ive seen ALL other videos do (best of my knowledge). With the decreased container values now, I dont see how it would work. This new method i do requires us to abort into freeroam for it to work -- extracting with container goes directly back to chopper. This should remove the containers from the map, requiring you to complete 5 story missions to reset. Good idea, but i do remember testing this back in the day.

If anyone is here in 2024 you should play all the recordings you get. It's a pain but you will get challenge rewards for it and you don't need to listen to the whole thing. Just click through them all real quick for free stuff

Update Version 1.19 is out, both consoles will show version 1.15 on main menu. Any farming methods in this video still work (as of Dec 15, 2019). Additional Correction: You need to complete FIVE missions to get missing containers to respawn in the world.

yes. if you grabbed them in freeroam or during a mission that you complete. I heard side ops work too, but i haven't tried it in a long time, but i know story missions will work.

2022 and it’s time to fully beat this game. Played it a little bit when it was free on PS4, but never finished it. Coming back too it because there is nothing like it. Great game, and great video.

Purchased the game a couple days ago (along with the tux dlc skin😂😂) and this vid is an absolute life saver and will make farming so much easier for me . Great vid btw 💯

Did every farming method mentioned here. Mission 8 - Occupation Forces, Farm Materials on Mission 18 - Blood Runs Deep (both short and long version) and Mission 21 - The War Economy. All working fine in PC. I recommend using Stealth Camo PP on Mission 21 tho it lessens the hassle. I actually needed the 3 burst cause I can't get my timing right but it makes it very easy bypassing the gunship. Cheers! Edit: after a few practice runs. I only ever needed one or nothing at all lol

Once you get a good run going, you can bypass most guards on 21. Now, Mission 30, thats when the Stealth PP comes in handy since there are just too many to get around without them slowing you way down. My follow-up video shows doing that, "Top 20 Advanced Tips."

your welcome, I did try to design this video with people playing the game for the first time. Most "tip" videos out there were made 3 years ago, or basically as they were playing thru it themselves. I made this after looking back at everything in the game and then putting it in order of importance but limiting myself to just getting to mission 22. Im glad so many are finding this video and game for the first time. enjoy.

One thing I wish i knew starting off. Keep track of your waitingroom when you start fultoning ppl. I dont know how many soldiers were dismissed before i realized my base was full :(

i love this game so far. 60 hours, mission 14. i played mgs (1998) then nothing until 2017 when i got mgsv on sale. I'm not very good at any stealth game. i sucked at sniper elite 4 for example. so i dunno why i thought I'd be better at the peak stealth game lol. but it's great and the lore is impressive af

Nicely made video, with some good tips...I've been playing for a year so I watched to see if there was anything I didn't already know. But just to save some GMP when resource farming: instead of calling a supply drop for a tank or other vehicle, you can deploy with one from the prep screen (where you select your guns/equipment/buddy). Then when you select the mission from free roam, get in the vehicle and drive it over the mission start beacon (if you just walk to the beacon, the vehicle will usually get fultoned away automatically and won't be added to your inventory). From there you can follow the steps laid out in the video.

Great video, just getting back into mgs v put in 147 hours 3 years back but starting over again as have forgotten everything this guide helps a lot!!

Tried to farm mission 8 but I had not done it yet and accidentally completed it. DOH! Excellent tips that have been helping my game play immensely. I keep watching this video to help but also because you are hilarious!

no. in fact, i was using them all as i was making the squeal video, Top 20 Advanced Tips, comes out Friday. so you got the game at a good time:) there hasnt been an update for the game in over a year now, so you're safe.

This is like Joseph Anderson levels of comprehensive. Very nice!

Subbed, great video. Just starting MGSV been on my HD for awhile and I’m in between games.

Caveat re "Always start on freeroam": Don't start mission 30 on freeroam if you're taking Quiet. You'll chopper in anyway but there's a bug where she'll start outside the mission area and be unable to scout OKB Zero. (D-Dog is a better buddy for that mission anyway, but if you take her, this bug can make her useless.)

sorry, i spent an hour and i forgot to clarify it. It gives you an additional tank to sell for $100K for free. It was an old technique that most players knew about back then, but I forgot to explain it for new players. It doesnt seem like much, but early in the game, if you repeat the mission 7 times, then that gives you an extra $700,000 which is nice when you're just starting out.

yeah, just completing the missions is a small percent by itself. They divide the overall percentage between completing all missions, beating them with s-rank, doing ALL objectives, completing all side missions, finding all animals, and then a few more things. So it boils down to each one of these items each being a fraction of 1% point. I remember doing like 8 or 10 objectives in missions just to get 1% added to my total!

@@CalvinMagnusMusic good job! I think I got about 240+ hours by the time I did and saw everything I wanted too. At that point all you can do is grind for the gold-tier items, but most of them aren't needed for anything. Most MGS games you beat in about 16 hours and you never need to come back to it - thats why i love this game!

Ive had a couple people mention that on my videos... thats pretty cool. I assume that they got authentic people to speak it, because ive never heard any complaints about the ones that speak it in the game.

@@StrykerOfEnyo well, honestly, it's pretty obvious that a majority of actors are not native to the language, because many of them have pretty heavy accent and mess up the intonation pretty often. What I mean is they can voice a quote, that should be pretty grounded and calm with an excited or angry intonation. But some of em are clearly russian or just know the language very well, like the russian interpretor. The actor for him is clearly native russian.

sorry, that was a well-know method of dropping a tank and picking it up repeatedly back in the day (you can get an extra one added to base every time you do it, then sell it). It was know in the community, but i forgot to explain it better in the video (i believe i say u can sell it, but its not as obvious). I was editing and cutting out anything that didnt need to be said the best i could, so i must've trimmed down the reason why in the final edit:)

I made timecodes for everything in the description so you can travel to wear you want. There's a reason why i covered what i did -- i watched a lot of mgsv videos and the 5 min i take is not bad. If you dont like those first few minutes, then just scrub forward a minute at a time until you get to want you want.

I know im REALLY late to this party, but I've had this game for awhile and have not played it until now. I'm now over 16 hours into it, and just started to realize how much materials and GMP you need for later items. Do these methods still work? And thank you for the videos thus far, this one helped me some.

i liked making a double-barrel shotgun with as much stuff on it as i could:) Then i forgot about it for awhile and when i was making this video, i found it again -- so i put it in the video.

This video has some really useful info thank you very much. It has so much more important early advice compared to most other videos out there. I was writing down some of the tips but instead I'm saving this vid onto my tutorial playlist and I appreciate the timestamps for each tip. Again very very useful/helpful video thank you very much. I have had this game on ps4 for a long time but never got around to playing it but I recently bought the definitive experience on my series x and I'm only just starting the 2nd mission so thank you very much mate. 😊👍

@@danielcalabrese5769 When you upgrade you can hold more, yes. You CAN do it with four but you need real good timing to keep that tank occupied long enough by having more decoys pop up. I think I only use 4 in the video but I've done it many times. Be sure to space them out like i do in the video.

you still get reduced values even when starting mission in freeroam and hitting the checkpoint for materials to arrive to base, if you choose abort you dont get any of the materials you extracted even if you hit the checkpoint for them to arrive, you guide is outdated and patched by konami

thanks, i pretty proud of it. It moves fast, i take the time to explain stuff, but i feel its all important (theres really no content that i could cut without losing something), and that song in the beginning just sucks me into watching the first 5 min every time. thanks for the kind words:)

its been so cheap when it goes on sale. I usually see the base game on sale for $5 US, or the definitive version for $6 (at least, at the cheapest price so far). There's no reason to not try a game of this quality when its so cheap, even if you dont normally like the series.
