@@clintonwashington8609 They did, but the 90s were generally the most varied decade for popular music. Popular music and the way we consumed back then is so completely different to now. Of course back then people still had preferred genres and styles of music but pretty much all popular music was centralized through radio and music video stations and these songs were kind of inescapable in a way that can't really happen anymore. There are still hit songs, but they don't permeate the public consciousness the way they did before the advent of the Internet and social media.

@@simplylethul I don't think that those concepts disappeared; I think they're just not as prominent anymore. That's why music doesn't sound the same now. 20. "Far Behind"-Candlebox. I love Candlebox, and this is my favorite song by them. I also love Mother Love Bone, and never knew this was about Andrew Wood. For that matter, I never knew that Alice In Chains(who I love) were singing about him in "Would". I just always assumed that Kevin Martin was singing about a former girlfriend. 19. "A Girl Like You"-Edwyn Collins. Love Edwyn, and this is my favorite by him. 18. "You Get What You Give"-The New Radicals. Again, love them, and this is my favorite song by them. Sadly, Gregg Alexander had the potential for so much more than this one album. From what I heard, he didn't like having to tour, which is why this remains their sole release. I like Beck, Hanson, Courtney Love(solo, or with Hole) and Marilyn Manson. I heard(or read) that Gregg Alexander did, also, and this was supposed to be a show of love for them, in it's own bizarre way. Around the time this song was popular, I'd seen a featured on some show. During the segment on it, they referenced the "shout outs". They showed a snippet of an MTV interview with Mr. Manson by Kurt Loder. Apparently, Mr. Manson(like me) thought this was a show of negativity, because it was before Gregg revealed his fanship of them, and how it was supposed to be positive. Mr. Manson said something like:"He called me out. If I see him out somewhere, I'm crushing his skull." The look on Kurt Loder's face after that comment was incredible, lol! 17. "Do You Know(What It Takes)"-Robyn. I love Robyn, and this and her follow up single, "Show Me Love", are my favorites by her. 16. "Laid"-James. Love James, favorite by them. 15. "All My Life"-K-Ci And JoJo. Love Jodeci, but never got into K-Ci And JoJo. 14. "Missing(The Todd Terry Remix)"-Everything But The Girl. Love EBTG, and this is my favorite by them. 13. "U.N.I.T.Y."-Queen Latifah. Love the Queen, but my favorite by her is "Ladies First". 12. "Inside Out"-Eve 6. Never got into Eve 6. 11. "Possum Kingdom"-The Toadies. Love The Toadies, favorite by them. 10. "Two Princes"-The Spin Doctors. Love The Spin Doctors, but my favorite by them is "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong". 9. "Breakfast At Tiffany's"- Deep Blue Something. Love DBS, favorite by them. 8. "Bound For The Floor"-Local H.. Love Local H., favorite by them. 7. "Stay(I Missed You)"-Lisa Loeb And Nine Stories. Love LLANS, and this is my favorite by them. Also love Lisa Loeb, solo. 6. "7 Seconds"-Youssou N'Dour And Neneh Cherry. 5. "Ready To Go"-Republica. Love Republica, favorite by them. 4. "How Bizarre"-OMC. Love OMC, favorite by them. 3. "In The Meantime"-Spacehog. Love Spacehog, favorite by them. 2. "Crush"-Jennifer Paige. Love Jennifer, favorite by her. "The Way"-Fastball. Love Fastball, but "Out Of My Head" is my favorite by them.

    20. "Far Behind"-Candlebox. Good song by them but 'You' is their masterpiece :) 19. "A Girl Like You"-Edwyn Collins. I used to hate that song at the time, I thought it was too 60s 18. "You Get What You Give"-The New Radicals. Great song and 'Someday We'll Know' is a good one too 17. "Do You Know(What It Takes)"-Robyn. This one is kinda weak for me, "Show Me Love" is her best effort 16. "Laid"-James. Good one but 'Sit Down' is their classic 15. "All My Life"-K-Ci And JoJo. Always found it too cheesy since the release 14. "Missing(The Todd Terry Remix)"-Everything But The Girl. Love EBTG but I like more of them from the 80s like 'When All's Well' 13. "U.N.I.T.Y."-Queen Latifah. It had no impact on me 12. "Inside Out"-Eve 6. GREAT SONG, A CLASSIC FROM THE NINETIES 11. "Possum Kingdom"- Interesting but mainly a US thing 10. "Two Princes"-The Spin Doctors. Love The Spin Doctors, "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" is good too 9. "Breakfast At Tiffany's"- Deep Blue Something. ANOTHER ONE HIT WONDER CLASSIC 8. "Bound For The Floor"-Local H.. This song sounds like Nirvana in almost nu metal environment (remember Korn and Faith No More were around already) 7. "Stay(I Missed You)"-Lisa Loeb And Nine Stories. BORING 6. 7 Seconds"-Youssou N'Dour And Neneh Cherry. CLASSIC. 90s pop and world music 5. "Ready To Go"-Republica. CLASSIC 4. "How Bizarre"-OMC. Kinda boring because it was too overplayed 3. "In The Meantime"-Spacehog. CLASSIC 2. "Crush"-Jennifer Paige. Love Jennifer, favorite by her. CLASSIC. This was 90s/00s pop with an ellegance that nobody had at the time! 1- "The Way"-Fastball. CLASSIC!! Unlike 'Girl Like you' from Edwyn Collins its sixtiness didn't bother me! 'Outta my head' was good too.

One track I have always loved from the 1990's is 'Drinking In LA' by Bran Van 3000. Someone in the comments mentioned '6 Underground' by Sneaker Pimps, which was deliciously haunting. Reading the comments of other people's lists, you start to realize how varied the popular music of the 90s was. There were bands like Tool, Cypress Hill, Bloodhound Gang, the Pixies, Mazzy Star, all the grunge bands, all the alternative bands, tons of euro bands, the Skatman, house/electronica, British new wave, new songs from Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones, the frickin' Macarena....all were topping the charts. Compare that to today. Within each genre, the songs sound...basically the same.
