Seth's growths make sense to me because he was wounded very early on in the game, so his levels are him just regaining his strength. He was the best knight in the realm and he's still in his prime. He wasn't permanently crippled and he isn't some old soldier trying to keep up with the younger generation. He was really done right.

Something I don't think (or at least don't see) people do often is point out how nice your calmness is. So many people focus on hype, especially on "Top 5/10/15/etc" lists. It's nice to hear a list like this but the person isn't acting all excited about stuff like "this ability is RIDICULOUS" and stuff like that. So not only your voice, but also your word choice. It's super nice in general, but also refreshing on youtube.

Seth is perfect. He is capable of slim lancing his way alone through the entire game on any difficulty regardless of growths. Even when carrying the lord.

Yes, Seth is perfect in his game, but perfect in FE4 means killing the boss and seizing within a few turns, while perfect in FE13 is solo boss-killing or solo routing (with almost any weapon, skill, or class in the game) for the map clear. I think Mekkah determined the metrics for relative perfection rather well in his summation.

For good reason too. More experience to make a unit usable is always worse than less. So, even if the trainee units can become amazing, they're objectively worse than a unit already good. That's just how it goes. Nothing about FE8 is hard, and no one needs Max stats on any character to be good in any part of that game. That's why KZreadrs like Mekkah don't like units like Amelia being given such high praise by people who turtle so hard, they'd lose a race to a turtle. I'm on that thought process as well. I've used the trainees and they're fun, and I wouldn't deride anyone who finds them fun. Folks can have their opinions and there's nothing wrong with that... If their opinions don't ignore facts. Which most people do.

Matthis I think is worse. At least Amelia can become good. Matthis has bad bases, bad growths, comes at a time where you have 3 better mounted units and will get 3 better ones shortly after, and will be outclassed by literally every other cavalier even if you 20/20 them. It's actively encouraged to just kill him off to speed up the game, and to avoid hurting your tactics ranking. Worse than Fiona imo

To be fair, these are the "Oifey" archetype - not Jeigan, as in they are expected to be able to keep up well into the midgame if not later with their growths. To be harsh, the OG Jeigan is actually pretty great because stat boosters in FE1 are busted and he can slam most enemies with basic weapons for quite a while, and when he starts to fail at doubling you get a +6 speed speedring, or bust out the silver lance which he pretty much has exclusive access to in the early game, or just finish them off with Marth who draws aggro in FE1 and needs training anyways for the Medeus fight. He needs less investment than the other cavs in terms of time if you're going for that and can do surprisingly well for himself. FE6 Marcus, another "Jeigan" archetype, being now 20 years older than his FE7 appearance, is statwise pretty terrible, but his mere existence makes the hard mode earlygame go from borderline impossible to reliable. Zealot, another early game paladin you recruit a bit later, is slightly better, but barely and in a stage of the game where you don't really need the crutch that is Marcus anymore, to say less of another one. Sure, Percival owns them in stats, but Percival isn't there for half the game so he's not really relevant aside from also being better than either of your starting cavs even when you leveled them up in hard mode, which means that using Marcus over said cavs in the earlygame isn't even all that punishing.

Putting Haar on this list is probably the most accurate thing I have ever seen. My Sister, Brother, and I all started FE10 at the same time, a week or so later we was all talking about the way the units are so much more powerful in FE10 compared to FE9, and we all brought up Haar as this immortal killing machine lol.

Before watching, I’m guessing Marcus, Sigurd and Titania are on the list

This was a pretty good list but I disagree that Radd Quetz wasn’t on the list. Because I have an opinion that’s different from yours I have no choice but to give this video my lowest rating yet, 9/5 stars, it was Very Seth. I feel that because of warps range being to bad in echoes, silque is basically there to be a ring for a physic spamming feye. I kind of feel that she is the worst cleric in echoes.

I find that at most silque gets warps alm into nuibaba' range so he can try to kill her but even then faye's physic is way more important. One of silques problems is she has a hard time getting close due to the gargoyle spam. Also, this is just one chapter. Doesn't make up for all of the other chapters from before

@@gameboyn64 Okay, first of all, Silque and Faye, with Delthea were able to get Nuibaba killed quick, so the gargoyle spam did not hamper Silque as she did not need to be near the gargoyles for more than a turn. Also, having Tobin as a mage allows you to be creative with Faye's rescue as Tobin learns physic when he promotes to Sage. Also, the worst cleric is Tatiana, since she's barely with you and takes a while to get her good skills at a point of the game where you're almost done. You have Silque with you for a good majority of Alm's route, her warp range, even if nerfed, allows your units to expedite the lengthy maps present in Alm's route. She is not the worst cleric. Warp utility is that good.

Dorcas not in top 5? Silly Mekkkah, Next you're gonna tell me Lyn isn't the best Lord!

I'm very happy to see staff utility make it onto the list. I think healers are quite underrated in most of the games (except Radiant Dawn because of how amazing the healing items are)

Her Fire Affinity to Support other characters, and 2 Fire Supports XD, the damage that she can deal is worth the price (A or B supports with Dart and Lowen, and a few not RNG Fucked stats). I would like her more if she could promote to Nomad Trooper or something different than the fucking Sniper (for some reason, I finished hating they)

Top Cut was an amazing PTCG channel. I have rewatched those videos so much. Pretty sad Pooka stopped making videos but seeing him move on to commentate worlds is still pretty insane!

Congrats on getting so many subscribers! I just subscribed today. I don't get to watch playthroughs too often, but I've enjoyed your appearances on Mangs' channel. You two are a lot of fun. I mostly pick my favorite characters based off of their story and/or personality, but their viability is important too.

Ah, Mekkah. I remember the Binding Blade playthrough we had together with a bunch of others on #purelimit. We each played in turn a chapter with no reset allowed if someone died. Desert chapter got the best of us if I remember well and I believe we were all using Wolt just to spite you (or at least I was). :) You made a pretty big thing out of your love for FE now, congrats on your success!

I actually just finished up my first playthrough of New Mystery of the emblem yesterday on hard and OMG Palla is just so good. She's over-leveled and over-statted when you get her and she just gets better.

I'm the farthest from a "hardcore elitist" person. I don't LTC at all, feed xp to weak units like thieves, and I arena abuse. But holy hell, I love your content, Mekkah. I enjoy the Amelia/Nino memes and such. I've learned how important Jagens are and how good mov is as a stat. I decided to actually care about bases and all that. You know, if Mekkah has a religion, I'd like to know how to join it. I probably won't stop being a casual, but now I can laugh even harder at whatever Mangs does

From the FE games I've played I agree with all the inclusions, though I found Jill helping in the dawn brigade to overall be more helpful than haar personally, though that could just be me prejudiced against the dawn brigade part of the game. I probably would have filled in the blanks from the games I havn't played (in no particular order) by including Ephraim, Frederick, Corrin, and Ike. Mostly gathered near the bottom. Honorable mentions for Florina and Kent/Sain (Lyn mode gains, stat boosters to Florina and Knight seal to Sain/Kent, whichever got the better level ups).

Congrats for over 18k subs! Great list as well and I agree on most of the units who got in there. But I would probably place Percival here myself. Yes, he may join halfway of the game nor is he a flier (still, 8 movement isn't bad). However, his Hard Mode bases are so ridiculously high that you have basically won the game when you recruit him. Not to mention that he joins with a Silver Lance and a Silver Sword, he can use the full weapon triangle and he has great weapon ranks as well. But this is just my opinion and like I said, it's a great list and I agree on most of the units.

@@DazeDemon Not really. He is the best of the three lords but he is outclassed by quite a few units in the game.

My top: 1.-gwendollyn Wow, i don't even know where i should start, gwen joins at level 1, meaning she has 19 levels to grow + 20 from her promotion, she has great growths, granting her at least +1 in any stat for level, she has very decent bases for her joining chapters, you should gave her boots, so she can have a massive 6 movement 2.-amelia Amelia has really good potential, you can grind her in the tower, killing every monster, when you are promoting her, you should go for general 3.-arden Arden is one of the best unit from fe4, he has a great defense growth, you can even solo the game with him, sign of how good this unit 4.-camilla She has very big BOOBS base and growth, best fates unit 5.-cath Thiefs are always rated good, cath isn't the exeption, she can open locked dors and chsts, she will dodge everything and cannot be one shoted in any way, practically inmortal 6.-lyn Lyn is a great unit, she has one of the highest skills on the game, she can double and dodge everything, and she is a lord, best unit from fe7 7.-rebecca Rebecca is really good, you should give her every kill and then your first orion's bolt, she will one round every flier in the entire game 8.-merlinus Merlinus is a beast, his high con. Allows him to wield anything without beign doubled, his high skill helps him taking even myrmidons, he doesn't make any further cause he can't attack 9.-gordin Gordin is great because of his abilavilty and bases, being able to one shot every enemy in his recruitment chapter 10.-marty Marty has a very hight strenght, he overkills everything, and even more things like myrmidons and almost every sword users

Congrats Mekkkah, I might be critical of your opinions sometimes and disagree, bit I love your content none the less, I'm so happy you made it to 18k

Seth is #1 to me. great list though. I love how calm you are when you discuss this stuff. good stuff

Number 1 seems about right, Vengeance Vantage was pretty popular for good reasons. I took some time learning this stuff back in the day, but you can easily use Limitbreaker, Armsthrift Vengeance Vantage and Sol for some cancerous tactics. On top of this, we can just throw on a forged brave tome and we've got a tank with good mix phase and a 1-2range Brave weapon that never breaks. If you want to go beyond this you can try the sorcerer class and use Mire(which I believe is what we call a siege tome?). To end off, The logbook can be used to buy other robins, so technically you could make your own Robin, grind to chapter 18 get the books, save to log book and create an army of robins. On top of this, you can mix max bane/boon for certain classes making Him/Her probably the most broken character in all of FE.

So guys, we did it. We've reached a quarter of Mang's sub count. 15,000 subscribers and still growing. The fact that we've reached this number in such a short amount of time is just phenomenal...

I'm just going to start out by saying that this was a great video and that I agree with most of what you said. However, I'm curious as to why you didn't put Sirius on this list. While not having quite as good availability as Seth, his bases are basically on par and his growths are better where they count. He's also at least on par with Palla in FE12 imo as he doesn't require a master seal to increase movement for max utility. Then there's RD Jill who I have seen at her worst (never got strength lvl up). In my recent RD playthrough she was always just short of something required for a kill (much like our old pal Forde). All I can say is that Sirius has amazing bases that will earn you easy wins in the early game if you choose, great growth rates, almost maxed out weapon ranks for both swords and lances, and is recruited in only chapter 4; so I personally believe he deserves to be mentioned whenever talking about "best units". Again, great video and I respect your opinion.

Siruis is not that great as a unit, yes he is a prepromote with good bases and can use lances and swords, but, in Lunatic/Lunatic reverse he is less useful most of the time, his speed growth is very low and your best option to increase that is reclass to swordmaster making less damage, and as a prepromote he doesn't have the bonus for promoting, this is more my personal experience using him in Lunatic reverse.

Nice list Mekkah, I made my own list but didn't order it and I haven't played Gaiden or any 3DS games. Honorable mentions: Asvel and Vanessa because they dominate speedruns and I imagine LTC play as well.
