I think Homelander is slightly more redeemable in the Amazon series than in the comics. Yeah, in the comics, when he finds out that Black Noir did all the assault and cannibalism, he feels instant regret. But Homelander was still a flat antagonist prior to the Black Noir twist. I think in the Amazon series, Eric Kripke's choice to flesh out Homelander's backstory throughout the current 4 seasons to display that there's a messed-up reason for all of Homelander's actions was a good move. It makes Homelander more nuanced than anything else.

In the comic books, most of the really horrific shit was actually done by black Noir. Since that’s not going to be the twist in the show, they want to show that he wasn’t born to be an irredeemable sociopathic villain. He was made a monster by the corporation that has since lost their control over him.

Episode four of the 4th season shows what you're talking about. His actions in that episode while extremely twisted are 100% justified. Homelander is one of the best written villains in modern media.

I think when MM told butcher "you're a motherfucker with a heart" is an indication that the show won't end the same way the comics did with butcher killing all supes along with his team before Hughie kills him

1. I like the grounded version because they're proper villains. 2. I really want Luther Strode to be made into something similar.
Homelander in show is not smart, but he knows he needs to cover his weaknesses with "smarter" people. He knows nothing of politics or corporate. He went back to the lab to remind himself of his inhumane treatment in order to dismiss his rising humanity. nor is he racist everything he does is still driven for the need of approval. though this is compromised into fear will do if adoration not available. He is still very much a child in a supremely powerful avatar. Think of all those online games you play and the childish comments from excellent players.

Um...not sure with the racism if he takes non sups as lesser beings...that's like definition of racism...
Just for one instance, there's a guy called "Splinter" who basically has the same powers as Marvel's Multiple Man on the show, yet Kripke thinks a genetic clone would be too unrealistic. 🤣

Yeah that’s kinda silly but I saw the showrunner say they try to keep all the “fake” stuff to just the supe powers and try to ground everything else around it as much as possible
The Show HL in this panel is scarier. No anger just pure look of joy bathing in human blood facial. Show HL face is the happy face of a cute kid or puppy!

Exactly, if I wanted to see a shot for shot adaptation of a show or movie taken from a book or graphic novel, then I would simply stick with reading the book or graphic novel.

How was Homelander unaware of who Black Noir is in the comics. In the show he says he can see his expressions he could see his face... then again who cares.

I think Black Noir's suit is made of zinc in the comics, so Vought probably made Noir's suit out of zinc in the comics
I feel like the time he killed Black Noir he actually had a bit of emotion compared to most when it’s just seen as inferior beings to him it’s like he lost his 2nd in command he’s the only one that he held after killing them (in terms who can actually get things done properly that’s left )
How homelander couldn't see hugie to his x-ray vision

The vent was made of zinc. Homelander can't see through zinc
Thank you ☺️
suspect the clone could! be still in there ,small chance of it,as the soup that is playing the part of fake Black Noir, having manipulated Homelander and been placed there by Vought.
More questions about the Boys season 4 : How come Homelander couldn't see Hughie when he was hiding in the vents, because i highly doubt they were made of zinc Why didn't Newman just pop the heads of the V'd up animals, she clearly can because she does it with the chicken but for some reason they're stuck in the barn.

I have a question ..... how did Homelander weld the door from the inside ? lol. Look closely at the door. 1:56
Barbara said in episode 4 sezon 4 said how Homelander was worn and it was really similar in the comics
If homelander has X-ray vision in the comics wouldn’t he know black noir is his clone?
Media is the plural of medium.
The series is head and shoulders above the comics, there is no comparison that degrades to comics. unless your into ultra mindless violence.
@Omni-clef
Ай бұрын
It's not mindless violence, it's just a different interpretation of telling the same story through a different medium of artistic expression. I find benefits and drawbacks to both iterations, I do however, as a matter of personal taste, find the TV show to be slightly better in a net positive sense. Let's not forget though, that if it wasn't for the creative genius of Garth Ennis and his team of writers and illustrators, there would be no show.
Homelander is unstable um have you seen captain hero lol
Sounds like mike mataai
"The Boys" is one of the few examples of a live action series being better than its source material. Everything about the Homelander character is better than what was presented in the comics. It's nonsensical Antony Starr hasn't been nominated for awards for his portrayal of the character.
Becca and homelander was consensual
