    Thank you so much! I began working as a receptionist in a Medical centre very recently and sometimes I struggle to help answer patients' queries regarding their prescribed medications so this really helped!!

    Cannot stop abruptly. Instead, a lower dose is given for a period of time while the body adjusts to not having the full dose of the medication anymore. The dose may be tapered several times to lower doses before the medication is stopped completely. This is also called "weaning".
