I think the downtime makes the system less appealing. Many designers are realizing that 3 actions over three turns is more captivating, and creates less downtime, than 10 actions over one turn.

@@thwilee yes, I wondered how would it play if there was just one action allowed per turn and make the round finish when all the players would complete their all actions or pass... and only discard cards after the round is complete... remains the question hanging as my friends would not even approach the table with TTA on it as we played one game in 3 x over 3h sittings... so even though I have a cardboard copy I only play it solo on my phone.

Mike is 100% right about A Feast for Odin. It LOOKS way more intimidating than it actually is. I agree with him that emphasizing how many action spaces there are may do a disservice to the game and scare people off prematurely.

Totally agreed. I also am always amused that the photos taken always splay the island tiles all over the table to make the game look gigantic. You can just stack them to the side; I have games in smaller boxes that take up more room than Feast does. It makes it look more overwhelming than it is.

Tom, you got my vote for this "10". many games I like, and nothing I dislike: Though the Ages, Raiders of the North Sea, Pulsar 2849, Starcadia (Arcadia), Empire-Age of Discovery, Century (I prefer the look of Golem)... Mike, you are always very close, but there's always a game or too that I don't like... :-) The people as well were very close. Dwellings and Robinson Crusoe are both in my top 100! :-)

100% Agree with Mike on Feast. Amazing game! Actions seem intimidating, but once you understand the action they're mostly variations on a select number. Not saying it's easy, but easier than the idea of learning 60+ actions. Try Norwegians, more variations than added rules.

Decided this year to track the games you all mention according to 1. Games I want to play (w) 2. Games I’ve played (p) 3. Games I own (o) Crossover in this stretch: Mike: (1) #67 (o) Tom: (1) #67 (p) Zee: (2) #66, 63 (2p) People: (6) #70, 67-64, 61 (p, o, w, 2p, w, o) Totals (this stretch): Own = 2 Played = 6 Want to play = 1 Totals (overall, trying not to count repeats): Own = 12 Played = 17 Want to play = 12 Notes: 1. Want to play can mean I want to own it, I just haven’t played it or outright bought it before playing it. 2. Stopping counting crossovers because if I don’t want to play the game, don’t own it, or haven’t played it I won’t write it down and may miss to count it like what happened with Dixit. Sorry to Dixit. I’ll play it, just not seeking it out. 3. I love Zee but [edit] two matches with Zee this set of ten, a new record!! I still don’t own a game on Zee’s list. 4. Mike & Tom are opposites so far with me. I own, played, want to play 3, 4, 6 games respectively so far of Mike’s list and flip those numbers 6, 4, 2 own, played, want to play games from Tom’s list. Ha. 5. The People have tied with Tom at (6) matches in a given listing of ten; Tom’s (6) was back in 90-81. 6. The highest crossover is games played at (8) with the People; games owned (6) and want to play (6) match with Tom and Mike respectively as the next highest crossover.

I can't figure out how to get Deception Murder in Hong Kong to work. It is impossible for the murderer to win in my group because the clue giver convinces everyone that it is one of the players.
