Mike’s comedic timing really compliments Zee’s already fabulous sense of humor. Really enjoying these lists!

I frankly will not stand for it.
Tom: The action point mechanism is not done nowadays, because it's clunky and bogs the game down with AP. Also Tom: So my number 70 is Through the Ages.

Somebody give Tom some water, because that was a severe burn. ;-)

I think the downtime makes the system less appealing. Many designers are realizing that 3 actions over three turns is more captivating, and creates less downtime, than 10 actions over one turn.

@@thwilee yes, I wondered how would it play if there was just one action allowed per turn and make the round finish when all the players would complete their all actions or pass... and only discard cards after the round is complete... remains the question hanging as my friends would not even approach the table with TTA on it as we played one game in 3 x over 3h sittings... so even though I have a cardboard copy I only play it solo on my phone.
"17 action points per turn, that's what Tom wants" Perfection.
Mike is 100% right about A Feast for Odin. It LOOKS way more intimidating than it actually is. I agree with him that emphasizing how many action spaces there are may do a disservice to the game and scare people off prematurely.

Totally agreed. I also am always amused that the photos taken always splay the island tiles all over the table to make the game look gigantic. You can just stack them to the side; I have games in smaller boxes that take up more room than Feast does. It makes it look more overwhelming than it is.
Ah this point, I watch it more for the good chemistry between you guys than for your games list. Zee is so funny, you're the best, man 😂
Good I love these - Mike has been such a wonderful asset to the DT.
I really like at 1:07:40 Tom gets annoyed that Mike and Chris are interrupting Z. It was raw and awesome. You can feel the whip crack in the room.

It was super calm though at the same time - Tom has the respect of the room
Glenmore II is incredible, I highly recommend it!
Glen More II definitely can have modules mixed. A few of them have cards/tiles specifically meant to be played with more than one of the modules.

I agree, I have played with up to 3 and think it’s a great way to add replay-ability. I also recommend adding the Dragon Boat module no matter what else you are playing with because it gives you something better to do with your movement points.
Loving the banter! This is a fun top 100, Thank you guys.
Zee is such a great champion of the good little game!
Hadn't mentioned it before, but really like this new placement where we can now see the TV. Thanks!
I think it's great you're taking a little break! You guys were struggling a little bit to stay on topic lol...though I appreciate some of that it did go tangent a bit! Great content...good selections and healthy discussions about it all. Thanks all!
Been watching for years, always entertaining, the tangents are half the fun and point of it all.
I have to say that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Mike DiLisio's theme music to the point I'm singing it or purposely starting the video over just to listen it.
Now Citadels is in my top 25. That game is REALLY good.
When Tikal came up I had to pause for 90m to accurately reflect gameplay
Great video. And it's ED-in-buh-ruh. :)
This keeps getting better and better. Tom, you got my vote for this "10". many games I like, and nothing I dislike: Though the Ages, Raiders of the North Sea, Pulsar 2849, Starcadia (Arcadia), Empire-Age of Discovery, Century (I prefer the look of Golem)... Mike, you are always very close, but there's always a game or too that I don't like... :-) The people as well were very close. Dwellings and Robinson Crusoe are both in my top 100! :-)
100% Agree with Mike on Feast. Amazing game! Actions seem intimidating, but once you understand the action they're mostly variations on a select number. Not saying it's easy, but easier than the idea of learning 60+ actions. Try Norwegians, more variations than added rules.
Watched till the end and Tom reminded me about thumbing up the video! Thank you cuz I always forget 🙌🏽
''Can you both listen to Zee'' - Tom letting everyone know who's the boss. Love it!!!

Focus HERE! :)
Funny Moments: 7:32 Chris Yi: I'm not saying a pun... It didn't make a "splash". Zee and Tom: *struggling to contain a full blown laugh. 1:11:50 Mike: Once you know what your doing and you play with someone of equal caliber you can just knockout games in 15 minutes. Zee: How do you find someone like that Mike? To play against to. Mike: Well I don't honestly. Note: This is a running gag about how smart Mike is... According to Mike himself.
Mike: "I like the purity of race (for the galaxy)," phrasing Mike lol
AP system is used all the time, it's usually disguised as money.
Zee actually has two Cathala games in this ten: Conspiracy Abyss and Kingdomino Origins. And Tom - I care. I watch because I care. Thank you for the fun!
I already want the next ten! 8)
Always loving these top 10 segments of the top 100. No crossovers for me this time: #70 - Chronicles of Crime #69 - Sagrada #68 - Dead of Winter #67 - Clank! In! Space!: A Deck-Building Adventure #66 - The 7th Continent #65 - Pandemic Legacy: Season 2 #64 - Trick Shot #63 - Merchants Cove #62 - Reavers of Midgard #61 - Betrayal Legacy
A Feast for Odin in the most expensive game I own, but I am so very glad I invested in it. It's definitely one of my favourites, despite the fact that my table is not quite big enough for it lol
I love arcadia quest! My wife and I have been playing it a lot
at 1:07 Tom yells at Mike and Chris for singing while Zee is trying to talk...very needed
Glad to see that Port Royal finally made Tom’s list!

It was on one of the old ones too. I forget which one.
Tikal is great! I agree we don’t want that action point mechanism in all games, but it is great in this one. Glad people are talking about it and may draw new players to try it. The Abyss card game is fantastic too!
Am I the only one who *likes* complexity for complexity's sake? Bring it on Vladimir! Loving Praga.
I agree with Chris about the rules variant. Zee should really try this out. Adds a nice new element to it
I love hearing Mike heartbeat 😄
So glad Port Royal is here, hopefully top 10 like mine next time :)
Airlines Europe is a great game. I am totally with you Tom. This also would make my Top 100.
Some love for Feld on the wall. Well deserved.
24:49 - Zee yiu had me cracking up sir 👏👏👏😂🤣
How have we evolved based action point mechanisms? I'm pretty sure Arydia (maker of Xia) has one and that comes out "later this year". I love the mechanic.
Talking about availability, what's up with Burke's Gambit? It looks like a great game, but I've never seen it on a shelf. A used copy goes for 10 times what it probably cost.
Chris to chat: you can't ban me, I'm in person. Tom, under his breath: well I can... GG right there
I lost it at "Me no like game!"🤣🤣🤣
1:29:55 Wow Teffaforming Mars sounds cool. Can't wait to teffaform stuff.
Sometimes I feel like its hard, maybe unfair to compare those small games to big games. But I know, we all want a top 100!
@Mike and Zee GlenMoreII can be played with mixed modules. In fact you could put in every module. But that would be a lengthy game then.

Yeah, I should have specified that I only choose to play one Chronicle at a time. I don’t want to keep track of all of the extra stuff in one game.
Yay for Istanbul, Port Royal, and Parks! But I won't do a 5p Parks, doesn't scale well for my slow friends!
Airlines Europe is an terrific game that is highly underrated, in my opinion. I like Moon’s Ticket to Ride very much but this is the better game. Love Nidavellir too, brilliant game.
I love how Mike fires out "Eddin-burg" and Zee, realising that a correction IS required, offers "Eddin-burrow". I literally inclined my head and said "Ah, not quite"! To clear it up, it's pronounced "Eddin-bu-ruh" 😁
IMHO if "Last Will" was a little more (or just more) streamlined it'd be a splash like Calico/Parks etc.
I have never been able to find Rescue Polar Bears to buy it, so sad as it looks so nice
As for loans being time travel, that is the best way to teach business math. Money has a different value depending on where it sits on the timeline.
Tikal is my 2nd favorite game of all time. Good pick Mike. For a long time is was my #1. I got the BGG Geekbits for it
Apparently there is going to be a new version of Asante coming this year.
"Move the Moose" should be the name of a game.
So I went and watched a review to see what Tom was criticising. Yeah, I can see how that could cause AP. But I LOVE the look of the mechanism and think it would be quite enjoyable in a SOLOable game.
Mike and Zee are the Best! 🍻 From Frankfurt Germany 🖖
Its Zee's mic that's making noise. He taps his leg or something and mic literally moves in sync with noise.
You can mix modules in Glen More 2.
@adamfrench1914

Yep, you can include any that you want to play together. And with the new expansion - highland games - you can even play multiple of them together solo, though the AI will most likely kick your butt.
LOL at the "me no likee" part
1:29:45 Mike's 70 and 69 are Tikal and Glen More II, not Glen More II and Dawn of Peacemakers.
The outro list for Mike looks a bit off? Dawn of the Peacemakers instead of Tikal.
I like how Tom is wearing the same hat as his avatar behind him on the screen
I got the Steam version of Race for the Galaxy to help me learn to play it. I can't figure out how to play the Steam version. I'll stick with Jump Drive and check out Roll for the Galaxy at the public library. Race for the Galaxy just looks impossible until someone teaches me how to play it.
I believe I'm the only person that prefers the original Ticket to Ride over Europe although I don't play that much anymore either.
I need more
Who’s heart do I hear beating throughout the entire clip?!
I recently saw, that the big box Edition of Port Royal will be 20€, so it probably won‘t have a very big box
To me this group looks like the Dwellings of “Elder”-Vale !
woah there buddy Mike. TIkal seems so bad at 2P. But Mexica and Cuzco on the other hand.... super premo. Cuzco is my second favorite game of all time and Mexica probably sits between 20 and 30 of my top 100. But hey, thanks for giving these some love. Oh, you gotta get the deluxe version with the upgraded bits.
Puerto Rico and TTR Europe are in my Top 10.
There is a new Dized tutorial and rules for Robinson Crusoe that I think helps a lot.
I want to see a top 10 one way street games list.
I'm 1/3 of the way through and I'm afraid Mike and Tom are gonna start throwing punches.
Mike, Tom and Lizzy taught me Skull at Moonshot with Marky Mark Chubby Chub. Dang good filler game
Why are those games behind you guys grounded? What have they done? 😱
Decided this year to track the games you all mention according to 1. Games I want to play (w) 2. Games I’ve played (p) 3. Games I own (o) Crossover in this stretch: Mike: (1) #67 (o) Tom: (1) #67 (p) Zee: (2) #66, 63 (2p) People: (6) #70, 67-64, 61 (p, o, w, 2p, w, o) Totals (this stretch): Own = 2 Played = 6 Want to play = 1 Totals (overall, trying not to count repeats): Own = 12 Played = 17 Want to play = 12 Notes: 1. Want to play can mean I want to own it, I just haven’t played it or outright bought it before playing it. 2. Stopping counting crossovers because if I don’t want to play the game, don’t own it, or haven’t played it I won’t write it down and may miss to count it like what happened with Dixit. Sorry to Dixit. I’ll play it, just not seeking it out. 3. I love Zee but [edit] two matches with Zee this set of ten, a new record!! I still don’t own a game on Zee’s list. 4. Mike & Tom are opposites so far with me. I own, played, want to play 3, 4, 6 games respectively so far of Mike’s list and flip those numbers 6, 4, 2 own, played, want to play games from Tom’s list. Ha. 5. The People have tied with Tom at (6) matches in a given listing of ten; Tom’s (6) was back in 90-81. 6. The highest crossover is games played at (8) with the People; games owned (6) and want to play (6) match with Tom and Mike respectively as the next highest crossover.

I’m doing something similar but with the categories “enjoyed”, “want to play” and “did not enjoy” so far I have the most overlap with Mike and the people
I need to play Tikal now!
“thats how numbers work.” lol
Glen Less? The fast version TTR NY
Pulsar is an underrated gem!!

I was listening to this at work and someone walked in right at this point... needless to say that person was a little confused 😅
I can't figure out how to get Deception Murder in Hong Kong to work. It is impossible for the murderer to win in my group because the clue giver convinces everyone that it is one of the players. They give clues that refer to a player's pool of cards rather than to specific cards. Then everyone around the table brute forces all the combinations of evidence and murder weapons on the player they know is guilty. Am I playing it wrong?
@hanseathl
2 жыл бұрын
I would argue that the murderer (and in bigger groups the accomplice) is not making enough effort to deflect suspicion and to accuse others in a convincing way if I goes down too easily. However I see what you mean and it can happen in certain situations.
@markbowser3978
2 жыл бұрын
@@hanseathl what happened to us is that the clue giver would hint at whatever cards were unmistakeable in front of someone. It didn't matter that the cards weren't correct. Just that they were in front of the right person and that the clues couldn't be mistaken. Still not convinced we had the rules right. Maybe our accomplices did suck. :) Gotta play it with a different group some time
@hanseathl

@@markbowser3978 yes, this can happen- but rather rarely in my experience. It is a fun game and most plays I had have been really fun.
Love Chris
12:24 Really nice of Tom to allow Chris to go to the toilet there. An Australian wouldn't have asked permission...
Conspiracy is a great game that can be played on Board Game Arena
The first time I ever played Citadels it was terrible! I was targeted by either the thief or assassin the first 6 rounds! Brutal
"A Beast For Odin" FTW
1:29:45 - I think there is a small mistake in the Mike's summary . Place 70 should be Tikal (not Glen More 2), Place 69 should be Glen More 2 (not the Dawn of the Peacemakers - which is on 79)
Tom interrupts everyone constantly

Conspiracy is a good one.
Smaller version should be called Glenless 😂
