I feel like Legends Luke was the Mary Soo of Legends writers

I believe that most high council jedi members are rather bad teachers. They were too into politics and did not followed the will of the force. This led to to fall of the jedi because of their dogmatic ideology and beliefs. But Qui-gon and plo koon are pretty cool.

Some are quite good like plo koon but as you have already mentioned they were to focused on politics which led to their downfall

I think that Darth Plagueis would be a really good teacher since he knew A LOT about midichlorians and was literally called "Darth Plagueis the WISE" because he was the WISEST SITH. He was even able to use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life. So at one point , he even made himself immortal using his knowledge about influencing midichlorians , and could bring back the people that he cared about

Rey would be a terrible teacher! She'd just be like "Wait, you're not automatically perfect? I'm out!" 😂

Another credit to Dooku is Rael Averross, his first apprentice. He was very well respected and quite powerful. Dooku's Padawans not only learned the basics of being a Jedi, and were very advanced in their combat skills, but they learned about the importance of the Living Force, and of the esoteric, mystical side of the Force. Rael did not pursue this side of the Force as much, but Qui-Gon did. Dooku had already learned much about the Dark Side before ever meeting the Sith and it is likely that at the time of Plagueis' death, Dooku was the second or third most knowledgeable person when it came to the Dark Side (depending on how much Yoda had learned over the years). By the time Dooku had been Darth Tyranus for five years, he was truly the most generally knowledgeable Force user in the galaxy. Dooku was truly an ultimate package.

Dooku also mastered lightning when he was a padawan, and then held it back almost all his life - he is incredibly strong.

One thing I think your forgetting with dooku is he’s not exactly forgiving in failure So you’d better get used to force lightning real quick

Maul came back in the clone wars stronger than before due to spending twelve years surviving purely off his anger and hate towards Kenobi. This fueled his dark side strength since that’s what the dark side is made of. Ontop of that he got strengthened by the night sister magic when Mother Talzin rebuilt his legs and regained his sanity

Maul didn’t really teach Savage and Maul was not taught a whole lot himself. He was basically a weapon for Sidious and he was trained as such. He therefore lacks for knowledge of the mystical side of the force. One thing is certain, though: He really did care for Savage, which is interesting, coming from a dark side wielder. Though I think Ezra was mostly a means to an end for him, as he used him to reach Obi-Wan.

Nah maul did teach savage quite a lot in-between s4 and s5 of the clone wars, we just didn't see it

One more thing to add to Qui-Gon Jin, George Lucas said that Qui-Gon would have been able to stop Anakin from turning to the dark side

I disagree on maul being a bad mentor mainly because although we didn’t see him train savage on screen we can infer that maul trained him a little bit considering he does refer to him as his apprentice, also the fact that savage did get stronger the longer he was with maul. Another good part about maul being a teacher is that he will actually care about you and will literally fight the strongest being in the universe to protect you. Maul is also just as strong as dooku is in both dueling and the force so I think being his apprentice would actually be really good.

I always wanted to become a Jedi as kid, But if i have to choose someone to be my Jedi Teacher, I would choose: For Wisdom, Knowledge, Dedication, Self-Awareness, Responsibility and Tolerance: Qui-Gon Jinn. For Lightsaber Skills and Swordsmanship: Cin Dralling. For Meditation, Patience, Acrobatics and Force Mastering: Yoda. For Focus, Strength, Talents, Skills, Independence, Improvisation, Overcoming, Bravery and Expert Piloting: Anakin Skywalker. And For Mindfulness, Guidance, Civilized and Democracy: Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Honestly I think Plo-Koon should be on this list as well, the man is one of the only Jedi that can do a different form of Force Ligtning, he's one of the strongest lightsaber duelist on the Galaxy and the most important of all, He is not afraid of the dark side like many other Jedi and is generally a chill dude.

7:07 even canon luke is an excellent teacher, the way the handled him in the rise of kylo ren comics (there's a flashback of him teaching his students and it's amazing)... but in the sequels it was non other than jake... shame on you for using jake to downplay luke >:(

Mace windu is very talented as is Plo, but I think that Windu would be way too strict to the jedi code, if he had more of an open mind he would be a much better teacher

George lucas said himself that he didnt want a 7, 8, or 9th movie, so technically the sequels aren't canon meaning luke shouldnt be on the list.

Here is the thing though. Luke was a really good teacher in the legends books. So kinda a low blow. But that just shows how Disney sucks at making good movies

Two thing I don’t agree on: the teachings of Luke skywalker aren’t that bad when you watch mandelorlain. Sidious liked Anakin and was even gonna let him kill him to be the emperor but when he lost to obi wan the first time he completely disliked him and considered him a letdown.

The fact you took Disney Luke as canon just disqualifies this video.

Qui gon is not a bad duelist. In fact, he was one of the order's best. He didn't die due to Darth maul, he died due to age. Qui gon Jinn was considered on par with mace windu and trained the legendary jedi Obi Wan Kenobi. He was also trained by the best lightsaber duelist in the jedi order, Count Dooku.

You know that Jango trained Cad Bane, who is probably one of if on THE best bounty hunter in the galaxy

You talk about Kenobi as if he's just competent with a lightsaber. He trained Anakin, and was an incredible swordsman. Basically indestructible and untouchable from blaster fire. Defeated Anakin on Mustafar, General Grievous (the "man" that killed more force users than any other canon character.), Maul (Several Times),and Darth Vader on Tatooine.

So you avoid "Legends" content until the very end. There is NO canon proof of Darth Vader's suit being susceptible to force lightning.
