There was that easily forgettable singing competition that was actually looking for the worst singer, but the contestants were told the winner would get a record deal. I could only stomach the first episode so I don’t know how the competition was run, but I saw a short clip when the “winner” was revealed. They told her in order to get the record deal she would need voice lessons and asked her if she was prepared to put in the necessary work. The whole premise was cruel.

Any show that airs pageants,ESPECIALLY children’s pageants! It seems to be a North American thing (although I’m sure there’s many North Americans who are repulsed by them too) In Ireland and that country across the Irish Sea we haven’t broadcast a pageant since the early 80’s and we’ve never had the vile,creepy children’s pageants. Who the hell watches children who are overly sexualised competing in a ‘beauty’ competition,it’s sick,it’s vile and it’s DISGUSTING 🤬🤬

Toddlers in Tiaras is clearly the mom living out her own dream in becoming the prom queen that she never was through her daughter.

Some extra notes about The Swan. Most of the contestants who went on have basically had their lives ruined as a result. See, they kept the contestants in the dark about how they looked until the very end, this is a horrible idea when you're getting plastic surgery, especially on the scale they got. It caused intense body dismorphia and mental trauma, led to their marriages falling apart, and in some the inability for them to even go outside.

​@@rileyfuckingrifle I think it was a family member of one of the contestants actually...the family/friends film stuff talking about the contestants flaws while the contestant is listening but producers canceled one person's interview or something but the contestant still heard all of that and the family member felt so bad that yeah, they ended it

It was the swan for me. I was 20 with a 21 month old and was feeling down about the way my body looked. That show made me feel even more insecure. What a time to be alive, lol.

I Want a Famous Face, Are You Hot, Toddlers and Tiaras and The Swan are the shows that leave me baffled on how they were able to allow these ideas to leave past the brainstorming process.

There was a reality TV show I once learnt about that was similar to 'Are You Hot?'. I forgot what its name was, but it followed the same premise. One of the people on stage was openly bullied and harassed by the judges. If she didn't receive the help she needed back then, she would've taken her own life, as she was suffering from forced body idealism, as well as a traumatic childhood involving how her body looked.

No bachelor or bachelorette. Also surprised the show “my husbands not gay” wasn’t on here.

As someone who lives in the UK, I am glad that Toddlers and Tiaras isn't a thing, yet.

I can't stand Reality TV.

It really boggles the mind that there are people in higher up positions that actually APPROVE these types of shows and made it on air….

While I would agree that having your every flaw pointed out publicly is awkward at best, I'm not really sympathetic to the people who were on "Are You Hot?" or whatever Number 10 was. That's because these are people who already think pretty highly of themselves and won't go away crushed if they get knocked down a peg or two. If these were "normal" folks getting critiqued this way, it's way worse.

Objectively speaking, the three judges were harsh- based on the clips here and in other similar KZread videos.

This is a reason why you should pay your writers and actors well. Or else, we'll have a whole slew of shows like these again.

When it comes to Toddlers & Tiaras, you can point the finger of blame at a whole lot of adults behind this reality TV show. Especially the parents who allowed their children to be on it.

Seeing children and toddlers dressed and made up as adult women trying to be physically attractive and sexy for the judges and for an audience is beyond nauseating. It hurts my mind and heart.

The Swan is interesting because you would assume that the owners and producers of the concept were fully aware that they were probably walking a very thin line of breaking a few laws regarding incitement to self harm.

Reality TV has fallen off since the late 00s

I expected “A Shot At Love with Tila Tequila” to be somewhere on this list. It was a show where typical MTV bros and some lesbians were trying to court internet has been (her 15 minutes were almost up at this point in time) Tila, who is an open bisexual. The exploitation of the lesbian women was particularly cringey, despite public opinion.

It's really not that dufferent from other reality dating shows. Some of the women also were bisexual. At the end of the second season, the person Tila chose was a woman who claimed to be bisexual, but had never actually been with another woman. So she had second thoughts and rejected Tila. Tila was initially sad, but VERY angry with her at the reunion special, and the woman she picked fought back, a lot of bleeps.

The swan led to a,suicide. A woman went in and talked about her sister being ugly. The Shane if it caused her to commit suicide.

TODDLERS AND TIARAS IS/WAS VILE🤢🤬 I find it bewildering that America still broadcasts pageant shows! In Ireland and that other country across the Irish Sea stopped broadcasting pageants in the early 80’s,why? It’s simple,the viewers on mass rejected the degrading and sexist spectacle of women being treated like lumps of meat. As for the phenomenon of kids pageants,I don’t think they even exist in Ireland,they’ve certainly never been broadcast. Children’s pageants are WRONG on every level conceivable,parading kids around (girls) overtly sexualising them is horrific and is so so wrong!!!🤬

Another dishonourable mention is Terrace House, where the production staff was guilty of staging a minor interaction involving a pro wrestler that led to her self-deletion after endless barrage of cyberbullying and death threats.

The Swan, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, The Kardashians, Jersey Shore, MILF Manor, I Am Jazz, those shows are morally bankrupt! They’re the Cuties equivalent of reality shows! I feel sorry that those kids are being exploited by creepy Netflix producers!

"Keeping up With the Kardashians" should not be a dishonorable mention. I'd put it near the Top 3 like someone else already said. Plus, where's "Dance Moms" and "Jersey Shore"???

I would have put Milf Manor. Middle aged women trying to connect with the sons of the other woman is creepy, disgusting, and abuse (doesn’t matter if the boy is over 18)

Why is married at first sight off this list? It is a horrible premise. Two strangers MARRYING after being blindly set up and they see how they get along with each other before they might split up. They say you shouldn’t rush into marriage, but these people agree to marry at first sight. It’s a mockery of the entire institution.

Fox takes the cake for worst reality, game, and sitcom series. And not let's not forget that alien autopsy bs.😂😂😂

The country vs. county vs. continent debate on that one episode of _Love Island_ is so embarrassing to watch.

All reality shows suck. Even the home renovation shows on DYI and so forth are nothing special either. But shows about worshiping beautiful people simply because they're pretty is god-awful. This is why these punks become forgotten about quickly. Goes to show how toxic hollywood can be.

If they made another season of Kid Nation today, the kids won't survive a single hour. They won't be able to cook, clean, work together and live without a cellphone or games. Plus are so entitled they'll probably end up fighting.

Not all of them are pointless. Look at competition shows like MasterChef, for instance. I think that renovation shows would also count as reality shows like Bar Rescue and Restaurant: Impossible. Those shows focus on fixing up food and drinking establishments that are in danger of closing down due to financial problems. That's hardly a pointless thing.

When it comes to #10, the title of the show should've been called, "Body Shaming"

Momoent of Truth was no doubt the best & infamous for a lot of reasons. It shows how people would do any thing for money & teaches it's mush better being single.

One woman in the Columbian version confessed to a murder and one woman got strangled by her husband after going on the Peruvian version. She put all their business out there and wouldn't give him a dime.

Almost all reality tv is offensive to both the eyes and sensibilities.

There was one similar to the Bachelor and it was around the same time when it started...like 2002 I think. It was called Joe Millionaire. The guy portrayed himself as a millionaire then at the end he revealed he was a working class Joe. It was gross watching all the gold diggers trying to get with him.

How in the world did you guys miss "MILF Manor"? That should have been #1 running away.
