Satori Haddad Some of the older mmo's are actually pretty amazing in their depth and quality is you can stomach the terrible and (sometimes) hilarious graphics. Less polygons than a ps1 game in some cases, lol. For example, check out a game called Asheron's Call. But yeah, a lot of the modern mmo's are kind of terrible.

Agreed. The Romine brothers' actions against Jim Sterling ultimately killed their company. Their games are delisted from Steam because of their constant harassment towards Sterling, creating sockpuppet accounts to praise their garbage, stolen assets and threatened lawsuits. Digital Suicide seems like a fitting title, cuz they're now D.E.A.D. after they gained controversy for flooding Steam and incapibility of handling criticism so they'd sue rather than improve.

Thank god the public didn't pressure Joe into putting simply over-hyped games on this list that a lot of people hated, (Destiny, Watch_Dogs, AC Unity(Which ran really terribly at launch but gameplay was great and lots was fixed)) and went for legitimate terrible games.

I remember seeing this list for the first time. I was amazed by how bad the games actually were, and Joe still hadn't reached number 1. I thought to myself, "What could this possibly be? Duck Dynasty?", and then there it was, on my screen. Duck Dynasty. I was trying so hard not to die of laughter.

what? no, not at all, it was just a common or garden average year . look, we've had two good years on the trot in 2012 and 2013- Especially on PC, so an average year is going to seem worse than normal, but thats going too Far! if you want a really bad year? 2006! that saw the DEATH of 2 entire game Genres at AAA level, and their replacements with utterly inferior mass market garbage! Every Average year is marked by crushing Disappointments (Far Cry 4), utter rip offs (Destiny), a glut of overpriced add on pack "sequels" (I am sad to say that included Far Cry this year, hence it being a Crushing Disappointment despite it also being a fantastic game when judged on its own merits :( ) at least one Major Technical Disaster! (and this years was so bad even its Publisher admits it is a Major Technical Disaster and is giving away free games to anyone who made the mistake of buying it, I don't think I need mention the Title!) a couple of cynical AAA reboots of old franchises (Theif) that completely mess up everything that made the old games great and replace it with mainstream COD/HALO/Nolan Batman Clone garbage in an attempt to make the new title appeal to Casual gamers, which it fails to do because it’s not COD, HALO, or Battlefield, yet also Alienates the entire original Fan base killing the Franchise off for good until the Indies come along in 10 years time and give it the sort of Reboot it SHOULD have had, one that is Completely true to the originals while also being very modern, and aimed purely at the original Fan base. And a tonne of abject Shovelware (Rambo, Duck Dynasty, etc) . It is just they have not been as predominant the past couple of years as they have been this year, so this year, especially when compounded by political and social events that have made Gamers absolute Pariahs once again, feels a lot worse than it actually has been . 2014 saw a much loved FPS Franchise return to Full Health (Wolfenstein) and resurrect the traditional FPS gameplay mechanics to AAA gaming along with the legendary name! Saw the much needed resurgence of the PC platform continue at full Steam (no pun intended). Despite a tonne of Shovelware hitting Steam as it continues to FAIL to do any Quality assurance, we also saw multiple games have their best Versions on PC (to the point the consoles versions have been so poor compared one wonders why the game wasn't just made a PC exclusive) and some truly Genre Re-defining games from the better Indie Devs, mainly those under the wing of the Incredible Devolver Digital, launched Exclusively on the PC . We saw an Adored but recently off colour Developer Return to its former glory in triumphant Style with Monolith's Shadow of Mordor, (Now, Monolith, Listening? "NOLF 3: The Return Of Cate Archer", set in '69, with the Same Story Depth, Humour, and Gameplay mechanics as NOLF 1, but with NOLF 2's Stealth system and of course Modern top notch Sound and Graphics, with Full NVidia PhysX and GameWorks Effects integration on the PC, which has to be prime development platform, preferably with the game as a PC exclusive if possible. DO IT! ..) and it’s great to see them back at full speed again. We got the first truly Awesome Alien game based purely around "Alien" and not "Aliens Vs Predator", due to its extreme attention to detial in its texturing and level design, superb atmosphere, classic Survival Horror mechanics, a Xeno that is actually SCARY thanks to its incredible Procedurally generated AI, and one with a plotline so good its now officially been made Canonical!. And we saw the first game to ever do South Park some actual Justice! We saw THREE previously thought dead genres Return to AAA, The Traditional FPS, The Turn based side scrolling RPG, and Survival Horror. Nintendo hit back HARD , making up for Wii-u's disastrous launch with multiple Game Of The Year contenders, The XboxOne also hit back hard in the final 2 months of the year with two Brilliantly made and wonderfully fun exclusives that KNEW they were videogames, and just set out to entertain, making them feel both very 90s, and very modern, at the same time, in Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive. It has only really been a very bad year for Playstation 4 owners, what with Drive Club turning out Average at best, yet another PS4 Killer app that has failed to be Killer, and PSN going down for FOUR DAYS! Over Christmas (Xboxlive was down for 3 hours!, Steam…didn’t go down at all)..i am now starting to feel sorry for anyone who owns one, as the only good games on it are multiplatform games that are often 500X better on PC and about half the price of the PS4 copies on PC on top! However, PS4 looks like it is really going to hit back hard in 2015! so I wish Sony luck! As, if Uncharted 4 turns out to be even half as phenomenal as its looking so far, I WILL be buying myself a PS4 for it! A Lot of Good things Happened in 2014, its just all the negative feeling that has been generated by gamergate dragging the name of Gamers into the mud, making us the social outcast, pariah’s and, in the eyes of our elders, potential public threats, we used to be in the early 1990s, the court case against violent games in the US that threatened to Sink multiple Genres!, the Cyber-Attacks on Xboxlive and PSN on Christmas day spoiling a lot of Children’s Christmases, and the fact so many Killer App titles have turned out to be either rip offs (Destiny) or just plain average (Drive Club), have made us forget all the good things that have happened. . 2014 has been an average year, not a Terrible Year, Not when compared with 2006! Simeon Yves You're probably right! Pardon my ignorance though, for I only commented to share my grievance with AngryJoe here. On a more serious note though, the main base for my comment is solely due to the horror of what next-gen promised, as opposed to what it delivered. It literally hoists a flag, and promotes the banner "Welcome to the next generation of gaming, where you will get to replay your favorite games again, and play tons of indies!". It's embarrassing that launch titles of these "next-gen consoles" were "remasters" and "rehashes". And trust me, I understand completely that launch titles are usually not comparable to the games that will release further on, but this year was just a disaster in comparison to previous years for that very reason. I thought that rushing a game was bad, but this year clearly proves that both industries rushed their consoles! I honestly believe that the PS3 & X360 still had a few good years left in them, before they move on to release the next generation of gaming. The consoles had too many flaws to be marketed, and you and I both are well aware of that. 2014 has completely entrenched DLC & micro-transactions into the roots of the gaming industry as the "norm". For example, I'm a huge Assassin's Creed fan, and I purchased the Collector's Edition for $150+, and after that fact, the game still had the expectation, the audacity! To ask me to purchase a pack for $99.99! The inclusion of micro-transactions and devices such as companion apps completely detach me from my game, and frustrate and annoy the overall experience, making games of today unplayable, only because you don't have access to the app, or the app doesn't work, or because you have to purchase something else. The developers should be encouraging ways that make me play the game more, not leave it, and start playing on my phone! I apologize for that, but I just wanted to show you what's happening here. It's because a lot of people don't want change. Look at Hardline: an interesting take on Battlefield's gameplay set in the war against cops and crooks. Yet fans of the series are hating on it. Though, in this case, these games are so shitty that they'll say anything to get people's attention. I wouldn't be surprised if they just spouted random stuff such as: Dynamic gameplay!, Unique Experience!, Console Quality graphics (or High End)!, etc., as people will still buy this shit regardless.

cloud154532 I don't think you know what innovation is. Battlefield Hardline is just Battlefield but with a skin on it. That's not innovation. Innovation is a grossly misused term, especially given how EA uses it. Innovation is supposed to be a progressive step or advance in technology or mechanics or something. There are small innovations and large innovations. Etc. But Hardline isn't innovative, from what I've seen. Granted, I haven't seen much of it outside of the Beta which was literally just reskinned Battlefield.

Why is Duck Dynasty so high? Let's get serious here, whenever or not you like or dislike the TV show, was ANYONE actually expecting anything from this game? Its just another obvious cash-in on a license that doesn't seem to fitting for a video game anyway. Nothing too special. I mean are you REALLY telling me that Duck Dynasty is worse then that abomination that was made out of store assets, crashes after three levels and has a developer that apparently made out of crybabies. At least the cheap, uninspired cash in doesn't try to pretend its anything else, and is actually FUNCTIONAL!

That's a pretty good point, but that's picking at fine details IMO. Duck dynasty is most certainly top 10 worst game material regardless, and it's not like that other game wasn't left alone too. I think Joe feels DD is "worse" because he really hates the whole corporate cash-in practice, and that weighs DD to be worse...I mean it's not like it's not a terrible game otherwise, it still is mindlessly dull tasks and QTEs

I would've put The Slaughtering Grounds at #1 instead of Duck Dynasty. For the developer to do such cowardly and underhanded tactics that they used against anyone and everyone that criticized their crap game is inexcusable. At least Duck Dynasty works; The Slaughtering Grounds simply doesn't because of its illegal use of multiple image sources without due credit.

He has only reviewed two out of the ten games here. He has likely not played some of the games mentioned here as well. I doubt he has actually played F.E.A.R. Online or that Slaughter game, only just took someone else's videos to tell you how bad they are instead of himself telling you because he hasn't played them. And that's another thing, he is basically just using other people's content to tell you how bad a game is because he hasn't played them! Literally a majority of that slaughter footage wasn't even his! He will just randomly pop in and say "yeah, Jim Sterling is right! It sucks!" and the rest of that time was just Sterling's video! I used to look forward to Joe's videos, but this is just lazy at this point.

well maybe did you think he was helping Jim sterling by raising awareness of the game and the developer and what happened to him and yes he would go on about the id system because it would make it extremely hard to make new reviews if the system is going to take them off you tube anyway, and although he may not of played some of these games would you want to? would you go out and spend money on a game you know is going to be awful ? you wouldn't especially if its your money.

Good lord why is everyone trying to say that Destiny should be on worst games list? Do the mechanics work? Does the world look good? Does the music sound good? Is the cryptarch the guardians worst enemy? Yes now does that mean it's great? No it means it's a sound and stable foundation that hopefully gets fleshed out with story content or at least a codex as there is some rather interesting bits in the grimoire cards. So it's a disappointment because of the overhype but really I wouldn't swap it in for anything here.

It probably has something to do with the fact that destiny under delivered on what bungie promised it would be, doesn't mean its necessarily bad, the same happened with watch dogs although I played that. I didn't buy destiny the moment I found out it was going to be an online only game. the same hate bandwagon scenario I'm sure is going to happen with the division when it comes out later this year

However, said foundation for a stable game existed prior to Destiny(MMOFPS). All they had to do was refine it and add their unique flair to it. And to be honest, that's what it sounds like they wanted to do. Then Activision happened and it all went the way of the dodo birds.

Sam Rami's Spider-Man 2 game adaptation is arguably the best licensed movie game ever made. The saddest thing about it is that ACTIVISION PUBLISHED IT. Did they not see the amazing reception that it got?! I just don't fucking get it.

They did. Then of course Activision being Activision, they took advantage of that good reception and started pumping out crap to the blind masses. It's exactly why Transformers Rise Of The Dark Spark is a thing and is why Call Of Duty continues to come out on a yearly basis.

Well technically, nothing 'new' of Halo came out this year. It was a remake through and through. That's like saying Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire should be on the list because of #TooMuchWater.

I don't understand why Duck Dynasty is first on this list. It's a friggin' TV video game! What do you expect!? It's kind of a cheap choice since there was basically no way the game would have been good. I think Joe should have had something else as the number 1 choice.

Duck Dynasty was released as a full fledged game, and it costs 40 dollars. Slaughtering Grounds is a public access game that I think costs aroundish 10 dollars. It's a fucking travesty, but it doesn't claim to be a competitor in the games market. Simply put, a really crappy 40 dollar game is a lot worse than a totally useless 10 dollar one.

MASTERmw100 Well, the personal endeavours of the developer himself doesn't really make a game handle any less well. It's just an interesting footnote to bring up when talking about the grand scale of the game's failure instead of just the game sucking. I would agree with Angry joe on Duck dynasty. The very bare minimum you can say about Slaughtering ground is that you're playing it in a style that's vaguely simular to how one would preferably play a video game. An arena of dudes to shoot around. The issue is that it's done so painfully wrong that it absolutely destroys anything that could resemble fun. Duck dynasty on the other hand is soulless from it's very conseption. It's core foundation is lifeless with nothing to redeem. A good way to seperate the worst of the worst to any kind of order is to look at what they could've been. They're at a level where they are so unenjoyable that it doesn't matter which is "worse", because they hurt equally to play, but which one had the potential to be something? Slaughtering ground at it's fulllest potential could've just been a Left 4 dead clone. Duck dynasty at it's fullest potential would've been about as bad as it already is. There's nothing that could be done to it that would give it any merrit. That's how I see it anyway.

That CCO for Eutechnix makes me cringe into my ribcage. He looks *so* proud about telling that reporter about launch day DLC like thats somehow a good thing.....

Angry Joe. Bringing people together through torture, one emotional trauma at a time.

If it keeps going like this 2015, you could easily make a new of top 10 worst devs/publishers. It hilarious to find out about these shitty devs and their practises.

There's one game I played that was absolute hell on Earth Joe. It just boggles my mind anyone could've created this. The game is called...Gender Bender DNA Twister Extreme....fuck...my...life... store.steampowered.com/app/321060/ This game is astonishingly cringy. Basically, two gender swap fetishists from Deviantart wanted to make a fetish visual novel game and put it on Steam, and they were suscessful. The game is on Steam Early Access for $23.99! What do you get for that price? 5 hours of ugly artwork, freaky fetishes for fuck all, bugs, a story that makes no fucking sense, no gameplay whatsoever outside of three choices that change the ending, bad grammar, unlikable characters, and when much much more. The shocking thing is during it's crowd funding project had a backer reward where for $2,500, you would be a main character in the game, and that reward sold out. Now those five people that paid the $2,500 are being shills attacking anyone who criticizes the game. Not only that, but the devs are also censoring any criticism of the game. You have to see Jim Sterling's playthrough, or play the game's demo to understand how bad this fetish trash is.
