Worst: When I first started selling I sold a very large statue to a guy in Mexico. I was green as hell and had no idea about international shipping fees. So he got a great deal! And I spent all of the profit on getting this guy my statue! It was an expensive lesson, but at least I received a sparkling review for the sale. No surprise there.

I see Mrs. X often saves you in such situations. Very good team work!

Best: Very recently actually! I was on facebook marketplace and found a seller on minutes away from my place of employment was selling a statue that not only have I wanted for years, but at 50% of retail! Aaaand, it was custom painted to fix all of the issues that prevented me from buying it directly from SS! Aaaaand!!!! It had a ton of custom accessory pieces that he had purchased to accent the statue in a way that elevated its status to one of my favorite pieces ever! My amazing wife said “go get it, it’s your Father’s Day present”. Man, Pretty incredible day!

My worst experience was buying the P1 jungle hunter predator. I won’t name drop but I bought it from a “reputable” retailer. I waited 2 and a half years for it to ship with very little to no updates. Guy was kinda an ass to deal with to. When it finally came it came with many paint flaws. When I pointed this out to the retailer all he said was there wasn’t anything he could do. No replacement or partial refund which is total BS since weeks later he said he had more on the way if anyone was interested. So he told me that I should try to touch it up myself. When you spend over 3K on something and it comes in with many flaws you should be taken care of. This whole experience killed what little joy I had left for the hobby so I pretty much ended up selling off my collection and being done with it

My worst experience was Sideshow Wolverine on sentinal hand. I bought it along with the x -23 from a store in bangkok, it was on display and so the guy had to pack it for me to take home. So, I left the store to give him time to pack the statues and look around at some other stuff. Eventually, when I picked up the boxes, he accepted payment and didn't say anything to me. I got home unpacked both statues and realised he snapped the peg while trying to take Wolverine out of the hand. He didn't say anything and allowed me to take this statue home broken. It took multiple trips to get the statue sorted, and to this day, Wolverine leans. Every time I see yours behind you in your video, I am impressed how good it looks in its original state.

Wow! Those are some horrible transactions. And the reason why I haven’t ordered custom statues or figures overseas! UPS do suck. I got a display case online for my collectibles and when UPS delivered the glass was shattered. When the box was bought into the house you could hear the tiny pieces inside rattling! And the box had a footprint! It was replaced by the store and they shipped the new one via FedEx!

I knew when I got into the hobby 7-8 years ago that I was overbuying and it was getting crazy big. Then when I started the channel 4 years ago it was almost a catalyst to keep it going.

Customs sound like horror stories 😮

I just had my own recent bad experience with a seller on Ebay, not for statue but for comic books. Bought from the guy, Michael, he happens to live in Canada, but had excellent feedback. Unfortunately, Michael never communicated with me, I wait days for tracking on my comics. Sent him a message asking for tracking, no response. I decide to request a return since I figured they were never shipped out. Only then does Michael get back to me claiming he shipped the comics on May 29, and that I was trying to defraud him, lol. Still no tracking on Ebay or an e-mail for a tracking number. Eventually I do get the comics over 1 week later, but these raw books have bad corner damage. I cancel the return and took the loss, didn't trust the guy to refund me. Now I have a reader set, not sure if I'll keep them or sell them, if I did sell I would flat out tell people that these are not grading comic. Seller had the listed VF to NM which these clearly aren't even without corner damage they were scuffed up

Luckily haven’t had any buying/selling horror stories. Few breaks here and there on some statues bought, but all easily fixed and unnoticeable

Worse experience was getting scammed as a buyer paid 500 for a 1/3 scale iron studios hawkman. I should have known it was too good of a deal. That's why I don't buy from overseas.

Leaving out the comic scam story. I think probably it was the Iron Studios 1/10 Psylocke. Awkward design making her hard to attach to the base/wall. I was super super careful trying to dismantle it, but there was wet paint in the keyhole. I managed to shatter her foot despite being careful... just felt like it wasn't my fault at all. On the other hand, I bought a Mirana statue which came shattered and I glued it together and it looks great. I also bought an IS Mike Deodato Jr Spidey statue and the key wasn't good and I lightly chipped the paint trying to get it in, plus it was superglued somewhere with someone's fingerprint in the superglue. Actually #2 is probably the HMO Felicia with the wonky eyes. They actually changed the production piece so the eyes weren't as good either. I got a replacement but I felt bad for the company who I see still have it in stock and are trying to sell it.

Sorry I’ve been busy at work and some of your worst experiences buying and selling. One of my bad ones was two pairs of new Doc Marten shoes UPS was supposed to deliver. The delivery guy dropped them off at a depot farther away with a pile of packages from the nearest to my place. Called UPS x times over the shoes I ordered. No reply back. So called Doc Marten CS. They cancelled one pair I had to reorder while UPS got the other pair delivered.

My worst buying experience was when I was fairly new to the collecting game. I went through EBay to get a SS Thanos on Throne Exclusive. Only when it arrived I noticed that it was the Collectors Edition. I was going to let that slide. But when I unboxed, the leg on the statue was damaged. I notified the seller and he accused me of breaking it, on top of swearing it was the exclusive version he sold me. 🙄 Come to realize when I looked deeper into his profile on EBay, he doesn’t really sell statues, and the pictures he used to sell were from another sellers! Luckily my bank ended up getting me my money back when I returned the item. Never bought a statue on EBay since.

My worst was I bought one statue "new" and it showed up in non-original packaging. Statue was wrapped in a single layer of thin bubble wrap and had been bouncing around the box. So some parts of it were broken down to literal powder. I ended up doing an at home repair with some of my own sculpting and painting which mostly salvaged the piece, at least enough to display it.

Oh yea. There's definitely more risks when buying custom made statues over licensed sculpts. It not because of the sculptor it's because of the commissioners. Just like everything else. You get people trying to make a fast buck who doesn't care about anything else than their pockets and you have those who really care about their relationship with the customer. All that can be said is buyers be aware.

I don’t know how people sell things all the time, it’s something I’d never do, it’s so much bother.

I love these stories despite how annoying it must be lol. If it helps I only have one statue from years ago, but there's a "more common" version that's coloured that I've been looking for, for literally four years. One day it comes up "slight damage to the weapon otherwise perfect condition" which is a miracle. The reason these statues don't come up for sale basically ever, is that they are infamously fragile. I reached out to the guy and he asked if I wanted pictures. I said "that would be great but you don't need to open everything because I know how fragile it is". He comes back to me "I messed up big time" he'd accidentally smashed the tail and one of the character's heads completely off "I forgot how fragile it is" lmao. It was such a shame, because I knew full well, and he didn't mean to, but one of these insanely rare statues comes up for sale and ends up broken yet again, so I wish I'd have made it clear just how fragile it is, it's intricate cold-cast resin lol. He did his best to repair it, and I still bought it but for a cheaper price, and I'm happy it's finally on the way, but I'm a bit disheartened that it's gonna need work before I can even display it lol.

I bought a trunks statue it came with a broken sword but luckily it had a swap out that I preferred over it, so I didn’t bother making the seller cover the difference since it was shipped nicely just somehow broke 😅

So I paid a lot for the piece, paid a lot for shipping, and now you want me to pay again to send it back to you and then pay to have it shipped to me again? Um...No

The ones I've sold, I always reimburse them in full and pay for return shipping.

I had a issue with a omnibus i got from ebay. Where the track didn't update for 2 weeks. So I reached out to him for a refund if the tracking doesn't update in 3 days. He went off on saying legally he doesn't have to anything. Even though ebay refund policy covers package that don't arrive. Eventually got ebay involved and left a review. So he started to harras me about my review because i explained how he communicate with me and took down the review. I happened to see a nutruel review having the same experience as with this seller. That other buyer probably had same experience but didn't know he hid the negative review.

If I would go into detail it would be too long (could make a whole video about it) - short version is: I bought one statue from the seller and everything was good. Then I placed 3 more orders after the first successful order. The next two orders arrived broken and he just ignored my messages about the broken statues (but he answered all questions about new statues I had...)! The 3rd statue he did not want to send it for months, until I told him I would charge back my money, when he finally shipped it. When the 3rd statue arrived, I noticed that it was not as advertised - statue was not new, original package was cut down to make the box smaller, minor breaks, etc. ... So I contacted Paypal to get a partial refund. He did not want to pay the partial refund and counter-offered me half of what I asked for - kind of admitting that he did something wrong. I did not accept his insulting counter-offer (remember he ignored my two previous broken statues) and Paypal had to decide. As all of you probably guessed right, Paypal decided for the Scammer and I didn't get anything, not even the amount he offered...

@@TheXtremeChannelMrX The first statue (no issues) and the two broken statues where unlicensed statues from different studios. The last statue (refered to 3rd statue in comment above) was a licensed statue.

Fair play was just watching a older video and you've lost loads of weight I'm new to your channel and collecting but noticed the massive weight loss not that you were big😂 but you look more healthy now.

At one point I had gotten a bunch of xbox 360 games and was selling them online for $5 each.this guy msgs me wants like 30 games. I got them all ready and buddy shows up to buy them.then he starts whining about how I was apparently further away than he expected and had to pay extra for a bus. He then asked if I'd drop the price to 3.30 each.i told him no because they were already dirt cheap.he then started complaining about the bus crap again like that was my fault.i told him no for about 5 minutes then eventually had to tell him to get TF off my property and didn't make a cent. Well from him.

Only the base and it was on the back, you also mentioned in your video that you did not expect a full refund.. seller also contacted you about cutting the boxes in smaller sizes becaue it was too big to ship out. You agreed to this. In this video you make it seem like the seller has made the packaging smaller to save on shipping costs..

Do you have a hard on for this guy? it was a bad experience for me. If You’re trying to argue it wasn’t, it didn’t happen to you. And there was a lot more wrong than the base.

So when you pay for stuff like this and never receive it how do you get your money back? I know it takes a while before you even see a final product shot so seems like PayPal would be long over for protection. Also how do you usually pay for statues what do you use?? Some third party company like PayPal or just straight up? You should do a video walking us through the whole process I know it won’t be the most hype video but people need to know how to buy statues and what to look for.

Worst experience is getting the customs import tax bill because the government deserves to get their cut for doing F@×k All for it. Then to find the swap out don't fit well. No incentive to buy abroad or new so just wait for pieces on the 2nd hand market.

What’s crazy to me is when I can’t sell on the channel I put on eBay for markup and get a lot more offers. People offer me more than what I sell on my channel but I’ll make less money due to the fee

They should stop putting what's in the box on the outside because shipping people see it's a statue and know it's in polystyrene and they throw them around because of that ! I've had them turn up with boot prints on the box where they have been stood on or jumped on? I know these people do this because they are supposedly unbreakable in these box's with polystyrene inside so they treat them like shit and throw them around because of this ! It's a case of What they don't know won't hurt them !

Not as bad of an experience as your stories, but I bought a Sideshow Supergirl on eBay, and paid a few EXTRA hundred for the special edition that comes with Streaky the cat, only to NOT receive the fucking CAT! It was the damn standard meteor piece instead. The WHOLE point I spent the extra money, and the seller's account was deleted when I went to go try to do something about it. MY fucking luck... 😑
