Every year I always watch over a dozen documentaries over a couple days to honor those people who died and no matter how many times I watch those planes crashing or those buildings collapsing I can NEVER resist reacting as if I’m watching it for the first time ever. I can remember 9/11 vividly. I was 11 years old and I stayed home sick that day from school. I was turning on the TV to watch cartoons and saw the CNN Special Report. My papaw was there with me, and that man sobbed like he had lost his best friend. That was the first time I ever saw him cry. Later that day, we head the sonic boom of military planes flying over our house, as we lived close to Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. The silence that followed that evening and over night was eerie and uncomfortable.

The main event I remember is Hurricane Katrina that was a really sad year. Honestly, I really shocked about what happened to the people in New Orleans. I wonder what they are doing now thankfully I wasn’t there when that happened but I still feel bad about what happened at the time and honestly I can’t stop thinking about it. also the 9/11 is one of the other memories I remember honestly it was a sad year. I can’t turn away on that one too. Honestly I wish the World Trade Center was still open then I would’ve gone inside it. I knew somebody that went inside it, and they said that it was really amazing.

The thumbnail shows Oceangate which definitely did not leave us speechless, so many mocking memes before and after showed how average people don't view the rich as fellow humans. Before their fates were even known, so many on social media and elsewhere were rooting for their demise.

You forgot so much more- Arab Spring, 2003 Iraq invasion that decimated the Middle East, Syrian civil war, rise of ISIS, Covid 19, 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, fall of Afghanistan to Taliban, and so much more! These may not be important for the American people, but they are significant for the rest of the world..

If the list is limited to this centuary I'd include the attempted insurrection in USA, maybe the rescue of the boys in Thailand, The hanging of Saddam Hussein Last century, you'd have to include the assassination of Martin Luther King, the release of Nelson Mandela, the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, the demolition of the Berlin wall

9/11 ruined history forever and never deserved to happen. The mistakes we made in our response to the tragedy led to America becoming a polarized mess. And I will stick by that statement for the rest of my life. If a time machine does get invented one day, I will make no hesitation to steal it to prevent that horrible event from taking place. It may sound like grand larceny, but when people realize it was me who used that time machine to saved 2,977 innocent civilians by ensuring that the September 11th plot had no chance of being carried out, and by extension, prevented most of the other bad events from taking place in the following years? I will go down as an American hero.
