Windows 10 is a public beta all over again like Windows 8.0, which was like Vista. Many were pressuring them to release it, they gave into the pressure, and now those who were patient are paying the price for the impatient noise makers. I'm in no rush to upgrade my Surface Pro 2 to Windows 10. There's still lots of bugs that need ironing out, key features are still missing, and the upgrade experience wasn't so seamless for a relative on their Surface Pro 2: - Start Screen organization gets discarded when you upgrade to Windows 10; tile groups, custom shortcuts, etc, are gone and have to be redone. - Organizing the start-screen is very tedious compared to Windows 8.1.1; can't select multiple tiles with touch nor with ctrl + click, and when you drag a tile to some upper location on the start-screen, some bug in Windows 10 'cause the start-screen to crash and show the Desktop. - In tablet mode, can't view the desktop, can't auto-hide the taskbar and enjoy the immersive experience of full-screen apps, etc. It's a worse tablet experience than Windows 8.1.1. - The new taskbar is tiny thin at 1600x900 resolution on the Surface Pro 2 at 100% scaling. I require this configuration 'cause I don't want to use Windows Scaling (due to devs being too lazy to make their applications compatible), I'm still able to read content on my Surface Pro 2's screen at an arm's length away without straining my eyes, and I actually gain more space for my Start Screen tiles than at 1920x1080 resolution with 125% scaling. - Although I personally don't use OneDrive (I built my ownCloud), OneDrive's smart placeholders from Windows 8.1.1 are gone; relative can't access their OneDrive files in File Explorer without it taking space on their Surface Pro 2, and there's no intuitive and straight-forward way bring this back. - Currently no built-in methodology for controlling Windows Updates. Windows 10 Pro currently forces me to either become ignoramus of what Microsoft installs on my PC (screw that), or go through a lot of steps to control it. Windows 8.1.1 made this simple and straight forward. - Edge currently doesn't support extensions (glad it's coming in this November update) Those are problems I quickly noticed after taking a moment to try and re-configure the relative's Surface Pro 2, not to talk of all the recent privacy-invading headlines Windows 10 has been making...not desperate to experience the same shit on mine.

It can so play MP4. I render almost all my videos in MP4 and it plays them just fine! Also I never had half of these problems on the 5 devices I installed Windows 10 on. I think this is mostly user error.

Strange, i haven't had any issues with my win10? Honeslty it's been very good for an os only few weeks old as well as one 5 years old.

Windows 8 wi-fi is buged on the computer i had to use at work (not BYOD, sorry) so i hadve to use my phone or tablet with thering to get wi-fi working

I am sorry you have had such a tough time. Personally it took less than an hour to download and upgrade my windows 7 Dell machine, and everything works better than it did when it was new. Privacy fixes aside, I have really been enjoying the new start menu - one click and gone! -Larry

I found that Windows 10 was a very buggy upgrade from Windows 7. In the early days I was losing USB facilities, due to driver errors, and the bugs only changed in nature with updates. The platform never felt solid, with the occasional crash. Given my personal usage profile, Windows 10 was actually an unnecessary upgrade, and I have returned this computer to Windows 7 operation. However, the new Skylake-based computer I've built had a straight install of Windows 10 from a thumb drive, and it works perfectly. The lesson here is that upgrading to Windows 10 from an earlier platform is liable to cause unnecessary problems, doubtless due to conflicts.

The reason they did not release it as Windows 9 is due to the upgrade model. Any software looking for updates on Windows 9x may get confusing results as Windows 95 and 98 were also referred to as Windows 9x. It was easier to skip Windows 9 altogether.

Well, I think the problem is your Lenovo T500. You should be doing "Top 500 Epic Failures" for that. No. 9 was really funny though.

Have a like for the Windows 9 joke. lol. To resolve point 7, you could probably assign an IP address in the router's DHCP tables, and set Windows to receive it "automatically". The less tasks we give Windows, the less we get hurt when it fails.

Wi-Fi works just fine. My tablet never gets disconnected, except maybe once in a blue moon.

there isnt a windows 9 because the developers tag windows 9x (not me) as "win 9" and windows 9 got the same tag and when they test develop they do a windows 9 program only compatible for windows 95/98 thats why there isnt a windows 9

I have W10 on 7 PC's so far. All ranges from P4 Single Core, Intel Dual core laptops, up to an i7 Rig. Only one machine gave me 30 minutes of trouble not findig the bluetooth driver. I cannot agree to any of your problems on any of my machines, dektops or laptops. Must me just your version of Windows.

This was made in July. By November, it would have more fixed bugs.

Edge works very well on my laptop. I can play all the videos I want. I don't have any of your problems in my pc at the moment. I think that the problem is your laptop. Try to do a clean install.

Stop fearing change. Windows 10 is fantastic. They finally got it right. Yes, there have been some small bugs and teething problems but every new OS has these. One of my biggest complains appears to have been fixed already and I'm slowly finding less and less to complain about. Win 10 is the release that has finally brought me back to Windows.

Epic fail number 68: Microsift Windows 9.

I am a Computer Technician who also does Cell Phone Software for fun. ALL of the "FAILS" are your issues and yours alone. Except the User interface, which I think is fine. The Start Menu and the Notification Area I think are an improvement. And, being a Computer Tech, why would I recommend an OS that is so "BAD" as you say, if I like it, use it and think it is ideal for new users or users that have a hard time with the PC? Plus, you screwed up the install if you have ANY issues with Edge or IE. Plain and simple. I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro 64GB model that took LESS than 3 hours to FULLY install 10 without issues. My desktop took less than an hour to upgrade. You probably DON'T have a valid Windows Key, either. That would explain the "MISSING" background... I could probably fix your PC in a few hours, but maybe you should learn how to do it yourself and stop posting useless, completely wrong, and ID10T Error Videos... ID10T and PICNIC Errors are USER Errors, for the less enlightened. I say this video should go down. PERMANENTLY.

My "Not Ready for Primetime 10" installed clear to 37%. It was happy there I guess. While waiting I & friend went out & bought a sexy microphone for Cortanna. Got back...still 37%. An OS with a fetish for the digits 7 & 3. Unusual. I don't see how ANYBODY could design ANY software & expect it to work on 1.5 billion systems....all with thousands of files of their own. Should have known... People who got it to work & have hardware like more than 2 cores or graphic card(s) find most programs (esp. browsers) crashing & having to get OLDER w-fi dongles, etc. Circus man Barnham had right about 1 born every second. Just glad when I "cold" booted mine (after 5 hours of lovely dark blue & big white 37) I was luckier than many & got 8.1 back. STAY AWAY FROM W-10 unless you want your very own MYSTERY.....!

I did not have all this problem you have. but I don't find it good.You can't use vuze for example, you can't choose your avast, you have to take their windows ,but it is not the final windows 10.We are all testing. That is why we can't change things.After one month, you can because it is considering you will stay with windows10. Because the old windows is here, I could take ans install back ccleaner, avast (in repearing) . To much things are there to follow all you are doing. They register all. But on line.that why you normaly can't use ccleaner and other software very usefull to be not followed. I thing if I try tor, i will have problems. Actuelly,i try to install vuze

This is just stupid. I don't know anyone who's had even one of these problems, laptop or stationary, and I work with computers daily (support/repair). Minor issues, yes, but most of them were either easy to fix or the users own fault for not understanding something or thinking it would be exactly as in Win7/8...

Dude windows 10 is not bad. I have it on my laptop, and so far I haven't gotten any errors. (Errors like the ones YOU experienced are only when it just releases, and is buggy.

I installed Windows 10 on a laptop and a PC, apart from a graphics card issue on the PC, everything worked just fine. Edge has the advantage over IE in that its more stable. Piece of cake really, a stroll in the park. Chrome is a good browser, but it doesn't do surround sound.

Windows 10 is a disaster. I say this as I type on this new Mac I just bought. Never used Mac before and never had the actual need to. But… I tested the Tech Previews through every build and watched as they ignored issue after issue, covered up giant mistakes and other "issues" (Privacy anyone?) straight out lied about others, and generally just ran the "dog and pony show" the entire time. And in the final cut..just bought a MAC and have done serious research on Linux (not quite yet though). I think they have had this “Windows 10 RTM Version" since the beginning. Many of the preview builds were superior to this P.O.S they released. I've had to reinstall already more than 3 times and all the old Windows problems are back with a vengence. Do you like cryptic and (too often) totally incorrect or missing error codes? Enjoy random and (destructive) new BSOD's and some of it's old pals? Do you want to waste hours upon hours trying to fix something that you took for granted before because it used to actually work? (What the hell does startup repair or God forbid the system recovery option to Refresh or Reset actually do? Besides RAW out otherwise perfectly good drives and partitions). Do you like buying a new hard-drive on a monthly basis? I think that is their new area of profit, investing in hardware that they can essentially destroy, then convince you that it's "your fault" then proceed to try and sell you the exact same junk again? if you answered yes to any of those you won't be dissapointed. Are you planning to listen to music? Watch Tv and movies? You may have to look elsewhere for that..because it don't work folks..they took Windows 8 and 8.1 and then made it worse..then for good measure took a couple of things from Windows 7 that people liked ...(looking at you Backup and Restore, Start Menu..) ..and just for good measure they then F*&&*d them up too. Safemode? Windows: yeah sorry you really need to boot into windows to then boot into safemode. I know you can try to run some commands to change that but ..nah don't worry..we'll just forget about every change you try to make after a little bit that you'll be just so surprised when (or if ever) we reboot. and you probably won't ever be able to again. Like ever.Like Automatic updates you can't turn off (and may just crash the system ..wink wink Nvidia graphics driver you cranky wee little bastard). …yes please, can we push them on a random and non published schedule and send them out at 3 AM?. Your wishes have all come true! .Did you enjoy being able to close or minimize open programs..nah we just will freeze here right in the middle of the screen and don't you even think about hitting that control alt delete thing you kiddos are so into..we'll just sit here and ignore that furious tapping on the keys. And they we'll just give you a message about how we may have heard the commands you are trying to send but we just don't want to anymore. Like we don't want to work anymore and ..yeah we're just going to sleep now..maybe even hibernate..and we may never wake up again. Why? Why are you asking so many questions.? Did you really not like Internet Explorer? .great..then you're going to love the new "Edge" browser also. Why? no one knows. But you do, especially when finally you do boot into safemode (yeah.. you just keep hitting F8…it’s kind of cute..you know you look good when you’re frustrated..yeah keep hitting it.babe…like really hard...oh wait..nevermind..what was F8 in the “other Windows version whose name shall not be spoken) . And that one (and only time ) do get into “safemode” you'll be so grateful when you see that (the freaking default browser that won't turn off or go away.).just also happens to not work in safemode" . You know that silly little issue..yeah just that little thing. Why? Well because Edge don't work for no admin accounts..you better get your ass to one of them restricted user accounts because we (The EDGE) don't listen no one who can "write" or "read data" or who is "literate" and "can think logically". Don't even think about going to KZread..but don't worry we'll just reroute you to the Microsoft website anyway where for only the low price of free we can tell you that you “got a bad ISO files”, “your hard drive has failed ..again..like just after you threw away the box”. or that “Microsoft support does not provide technical support on any issue that is actually technical or requires more support than poorly written knowledge base articles and broken hyperlinks”.. ”Thanks you for callings us at Microsofts..My name is Paaannjeeffff Allahhhhahllaha….I meant Jim .I’m sorry but you'll need to purchase a "premium support package" for the low low price of only $99 (per operating system, per troubleshooting issue, per license, per instance, per person (all standard of course). Because we just love you and only want to “Service the Account”. Did you Like having the old ISO thing with your system files...yeah you have make that yourself now.. If you know how to decrypt the files I may or may not have already corrupted on that last (failed) automatic update. So in the end.. Why all this? .. because Microsoft loves you so much that it gave its only begotten browser (Rest in Peace Internet Explorer) that whomsoever would ever need to use it can go rest in everlasting peace (em pieces).....Amen." . Because.....Windows loves it when you have to reinstall the entire OS. Loves it so much that they made it almost a guarantee that sooner rather than later (again ..really, really, sooner) you'll have to do a "clean" "repair" or "upgrade" installation/reinstallation. It may or may not work, (READ :NOT WORK). System restore and System recovery...yeah those are worse than ever....the system is a memory hog to be kind and oh yeah ..they still never fixed that whole issue where due to the mystery of “defragmentation" the paging file will just up and decide that it doesn’t give 2 s*^#s anymore and will decide to fragment to the point that it panics and just expells your precious data to the place where files go to die and never to be seen (in any useable) state again. And for some reason the first files it decides to let loose, like it just had bad curry after drinking a gallon of Jagermeister, is those useless pesky system restore points and file history data. Because..after all.. When do you ever need those? .........."Hello this is Microsoft support...thank you for holding (for the average wait time of only 455 minutes today)...so have you tried to unplug your computer and run system restore?” Ok then let me assist you in erasing all your data and doing a nice clean reinstall of Windows” Ok lets get started….” click Dial tone…………… Wash Rinse Repeat x5 Kill Yourself Damn I never thought of trying that……System Restore..What a great idea …so glad I called.

RedGeoBlaze they have released big updates once every 4-5 months and small updates almost every week since the initial launch of Windows 10.

The Window Update error has nothing to do with the version bit, as I got the same error on my Asus with Windows 7 64bit. You shouldn't have two browsers; Microsoft Edge is supposed to go into Internet Explorer's place - the second getting uninstalled. Intel Dual Core and Lenovo is one of the worst computer combinations ever: Dual Core processors are even slower than Intel Celeron and Pentium; Lenovo computers are just plain sh**ty machines, who come with lots of bloated useless pre-installed software...and sh**tier hardware - they're even worse than Acer, who is known to be more on the cheap than the quality side.
