I Couldn’t Stand Robotnik
Actually, in Diddy Kong Racing, the genie occasionally gives tips throughout the game, and one of them is about the letting off the gas booster trick.
Eyedol from Killer Instinct (1994). Here’s what makes him a tough opponent : 1- His defense. Normally in any fighting game, when your character blocks his opponent’s hit. They only defend either their upper body when standing up or their legs when crouching. In which the opponent has to hit the other to make damage. However, Eyedol when blocking his opponent’s attack, he defends his whole body from head to toe. Meaning the only way you can hit him is when he’s off guard. 2- His hits’ damage. If you get yourself off guard, Eyedol launches at you by releasing a fast series of combos. In a blink of an eye, he takes away about 40% of your health bar. 3- Healing. He’s the only character in the game with the ability to heal himself. The issue is that you can’t stop him from doing so because he performs it right after he throws you away after hitting you with his combos where you have no chance to intervene him bumping his feet on the ground to heal himself about 15% of health.
I once saw my cousin play Diddy Kong racing against Wizpig, and I cannot express enough how stressed my cousin was in trying to win his races

@@joshuamohlman@joshuamohlman it was a more personal victory and I was 12. What made me totally rage quit a game was Legend of Legaia. At the end you think you beat the final boss, which was a MFer, then a guy you thought died 10 hours game play prior just shows up and screws everything.

The fight against Seymour on mount gagazet from final fantasy X should have been on this list. I used to rage quit against him so many times.
The genie in Diddy Kong racing does explain to you at some point to let off the gas just before you hit the boost. I believe it's either after beating the triceratops the 2nd time or beating the walrus the 1st time

It was long time before I could beat Biolizard in Sonic Adventure 2. Honestly it's probably still one of the hardest bosses in the series
For me, it was the Fusion Dragon in Golden Sun. It took me YEARS to beat that thing, even with the best stuff in the game. By then, I was easily a teen or even young adult (I can't remember), so I definitely couldn't beat it as a kid.
For me, it was the Hypno Orb in Battletoads. The end battle against him doesn’t seem so bad, but the problem is getting to the fight in the first place requires you to race the orb thru a winding corridor with no checkpoints, and the orb is faster than you on straightaways. To this day, I’ve never made it even halfway through.
I remember beating #6 as a kid. Ahhh such fun times…😌
For me it was monster ock on the Spider-Man ps1 classic. It took my babysitter to beat it for me and my brother because the obstacle seemed impossible for 7 year old me.
Any Jak 2 fight was tough for me but ultimately fair. The hardest villain for me that I can think of was Clock-La in Sly 2: Band of Thieves. It took until I played it as an adult to figure out that shooting the electric rings would disable or reactivate with each new shot.
Xaldin from KH2 should have been on here fr

@CaptainCretaceous91 Me too especially from Kingdom Hearts 2 it took me years of unsuccessful tries to beat him.
For me, when I was a teenager in the 90s, I had difficulty beating M. Bison (Street Fighter II: The World Warrior)
Among the list, King K Rool at DK64 was who I remembered as extremely difficult yeah. K Rool in general has often been real challenging final bosses, but the DKC3 one was also especially difficult. Dr Wily in Mega Man 7 was another brutally tough boss fight who has been brought up a lot. I would also mention the Dark Queen from Battletoads as an extremely brutal boss I couldn't beat as a kid. Omega & Shinryu from the Final Fantasy series were another pair of real brutal superbosses that plagued my childhood.
That fourth entry brought back some memories.
The thumbnail just blended perfectly into the start of the video.
Shao Khan was always just a credit magnet, that fight was so OP, Psycho Mantis wasn't actually all that bad but I know the one boss on here that almost killed a controller was Wizpig, that was so frustrating & I feel set me up perfectly for the Burnout 3 gold medal time trials to follow!
M. Bison from Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior was a pain back then until I saw The General from Kaiser Knuckle. Another one would be Jinpachi Mishima from Tekken 5, or Azazel from Tekken 6.
8:07 as someone who’s never played most the old titles but played Smash bros I love to randomly find these characters in videos lol
Big Boss (I think?) from Snake's Revenge. You had to run between rooms avoiding him, and could only damage him with land mines.
I remember struggling with Tabbu in super smash brothers brawl and even Bowser in super mario galaxy 1 and super mario galaxy 2

Dr. Nefarious in Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal is hard as hell the first time through the game. After you beat him and go into challenge mode, the entire game is super easy because you get to keep all your upgraded weapons, you can just plow through every level nuking everyone to oblivion. But that first run through, when your weapons are all weak and you have to be really smart about ammo, damn that dude is hard.
The whole hoover bike level on Battle toads! Akuma and Bison SF2 was no joke!
Lmao! Diddy Kong Racings final boss was a pain for me growing up! 🥹

Cool video 👏👏
I agree with your pick that they are so hard but sometimes we end up beating them this video is great and I enjoy this like I said I agree with your pick that they are so hard but sometimes we end up beating them My favorite one is Culex
First game that came to my mind is Earthworm Jim. I don't even know who or what the final boss was, because I never even came close to making it that far, that devil game was impossible.
Honestly, Gruntilda from Banjo Kazooie was crazy difficult for a kid's game, as were some of the levels, Rusty Bucket Bay for example. I was a young adult when I finally completed that game, and still rue those levels when replaying it. Aside from that, I don't know about difficult, but Shadows of the Empire had some bosses people hate/fear, IG-88 and his warbling 'voice', and for me the dianaga creeps me out, which stands out to me because I don't have the same fear for other underwater enemies, even in more modern games like Twilight Princess' Morpheel. With the dianaga, I guess it's the featureless tentacles that keep popping up.
I beat metal gear solid, one of my favorite games ever, but I don't remember putting my controlling in port 2 to beat psycho mantis. I don't remember that. I loved the sniper battle though. That was freakin awesome.
Honestly for some reason I struggled more with Mr Sandman than Tyson when I was a kid.

Psycho Mantis will Always be an Legendary Villain and BadAss Boss Fight
Ironhide in Transformers The Game. He's a Pain.
The HAG-1 from Banjo-Tooie is another honorable mention.
I would agree about psycho mantis but I got lucky and played it at a friends house. And he told me about putting the controller into the 2nd player slot. So I had an advantage from the first time playing.
How about top ten most evil lego characters?
I couldn't beat any boss battles as a kid
Games like Resident evil made me so frugal in video games 😂. Nothing like getting to a boss fight with 14 bullets, 4 shotgun shells and maybe 2 incendiary rounds lol. Learned how to preserve ammo and save often.
ROBOTNIK GOT ON MY LAST DAMN NERVE!!! 💀
Shao kahn was rare for me to face I use to be terrified of “Motaro” soon as he would appear I’d hand my big brother the controller 😂 I remember the first time seeing him beat with scorpion
I still remember being creeped out by Psycho Mantis reading my memory card and going "So you like Digimon World."
Y’know back when I played Pokemon Sun and Moon, the Lusamine Boss was a real stress for me
We're just going to act like Emerald Weapon, from Final Fantasy VII, didn't force a bunch of us to rage quit?
Colonel champel tells you to switch controller ports. Beat mantis pretty easy as a kid.
Yellow devil is the most frustrating boss in all of Megaman.
Culex was one of The Toughest but mòst satisfying Bosses to Beat, earning The Super Suit & Lazy Shell made beating him worth the effort. 🎮🙆🏿♂️
Psycho mantis got me quite a few times b4 i finally figured it out....my 12 year old mind was blown when i figured it out
On mgs. I was using the codat. Calling everyone. Eventually they was giving me clues that i should unplug the controller and put it in the second controller slot. And it worked. That's how i found that out when i was younger.
What about Scar in the lion king game? No one knew at the time that you had to do a certain move that had never been used or explained before to flip him off the ledge. With no save states it was heartbreaking as a kid losing to Scar.😂
As kid I could never beat Gruntylda from Banjo Kazooey. Once I finally beat her I was so relieved.
Honorable Mentions: M.Bison/Akuma (Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo/Street Fighter Alpha 3), Rugal (King of Fighters), Geese Howard (Fatal Fury), Devil (Tekken 2), Wild Dog (Time Crisis), Wesker (Resident Evil) & Nemesis (Resident Evil 3: Nemesis)
I would’ve also added Karai from tmnt tournament fighters
Mz Ruby and Clockwerk. Clockwerk just dodge and hit but Mz Ruby I hope the remote still working after rage tossing it.
Am I the only one who played all the way through Donkey Kong 64, only to give up at the final boss? More than two decades later, I still haven't gone back and actually beaten DK64, despite having played all 7 main worlds extensively and getting the majority of the golden bananas. I regret not having more patience with K. Rool as a teenager, and feel like such a quitter.
Sigma(Megaman x4 ,X5) Egg VIper and Perfect Chaos(sonic Adventure) Metal Overlord(Sonic Heroes) Monster Juanita(Fur Fighters),Fairy Godmother(Shrek 2 Pc version) Baxter Stockman(Tmnt video game 2003), Ugh Zan 3(Serious Sam The First Blood)
Know it recent but smash campaign final boss should been on here. Bet only teen had beaten it. But most agree maybe no mayal gear one because just need to change ports.
One video game boss I remember that was hard as hell to beat was the samurai guy in the (I think it was a boxing or wrestling ring) in Final Fight on the SNES as soon as you'd knock him down and tried to grab one of his katanas he'd freakin' charge you like a bull and how he was able to recover that quickly from a knockdown is anybody's guess!
I was able to beat Culex but than again I wasn't a kid when I did it either. I didn't really play Super Mario RPG as a kid. I didn't fight Culex in my first playthrough. 1:27 🎶You just got pwned FTW!🎶 I fought SA-X as an adult. Metroid wasn't really my childhood. Majora wasn't that hard and I have done it without the Fierce Deity's Mask.
Muscle memory, that was your only companion when trying to beat the Yellow Devil.
The only reason I was able to beat Psycho Mantis back in the day was because I saw the trick in some gaming magazine (probably EGM). I never would’ve figured that out as a teenager (or as an adult even 🙈🤣). That was crazy!!!

As a kid, I was never able to beat miracle matter, then going back to the game as an adult, I finally beat miracle matter but can't beat zero two
I had the hardest time beating M.Bison from street fighter as a kid...i cried until my tears had tears
Magneto in X-Men on Sega Genesis?
Should've added Sigma from Mega-Man X4, and some of the bosses from Kingdom Hearts to this list.
The Ruby & Emerald Weapon - Final Fantasy 7...Unless you started Grinding from Disc 1 & Found Knights of the Round Materia these 2 Bosses were Unbeatable as kids. 🤦🏿♂️

I actually beat Psycho Mantis. I have no idea how. I was watching my dad play and he was getting so pissed that he couldn't do it. So he stepped outside to smoke to calm down and I decided to try. I beat it! He came back in ready to try again and saw I beat it. He got mad again and went back outside 😂
I had to get a damn GamePro magazine to learn how to beat Psycho Mantis 😤🥴
Bison Streetfighter alpha 3 that dang psycho drive 😂😂😂😂
Oh yeah Majoras Mask was really tough in the 3rd phase
Of these guys, I’ve beaten Culex, Lavos, K. Roll, and Majora.
I never got to fight King K. Rool, I never managed to earn the Rareware coin required. Still haunts me
M. Bison from Street Fighter II
There’s always been a glitch against shao kahn in MK2 you use baraka and just slide in the corner and he walks into it 10/10 you’re welcome
Gohdan from LOZ Wind Waker....3 straight weeks. 4-5 solid hours every day after school. 1 and a half broken controllers (the other one was still semi-functional) .....and then my dumb ass remembered L-targeting was a thing 😑 And instantly, one of the hardest bosses in any Zelda game became one of the easiest (if not THE easiest)
Double dragon 3 was a pain in the ass to me.
For me it was bowser in super Mario bros 2 3DS version the final phase was hard I can’t tell how many times I died
In majoras mask, Gyorg was much harder for me and the others I knew that played it than Majora.
