One thing not very well documented at all is how to extend the life of your Apple Pencil's battery. Normally it can't be turned off. It just goes to sleep when it's not being used, but the battery will still slowly drain to nothing over a few weeks. If you want to turn the battery off, then go to Settings, Bluetooth, turn off bluetooth, then turn bluetooth right back on. Your Apple Pencil will no longer be connected. Moving it does nothing. The charge will last for many months. You actually have to attach it to your iPad again to turn it back on. Doing this when your Apple Pencil battery is somewhere between 50% and 80% will extend your Apple Pencil too. Also, 1st Gen Apple Pencil should be charged via a charger, not the iPad's Lightning port. The iPad quickcharges it whereas a regular charger gives it a slower, less stressful charge.

I recommend creating a shortcut to toggle Bluetooth off which you can add as an app icon (Bookmark) on your homescreen or to a shortcut widget

Forget a few weeks, how about a couple of days, even if its just sitting around unused in that time.

just watched a few vids- great pace, good scripting, fine editing. I'm in the process of going paperless in my studio, these tips are invaluable. I'm an old dog (born in the 60s) learning new tricks. Woof! Thank you --

These were such great tips, thank you. The Apple Pencil is one tool that makes using the iPad fun even if you are not an artist; its the best stylist you can buy for your iPad.

So many useful apple tips and tricks I didn’t know I needed. Thanks!
I love the screenshot function I had no idea it could do that. Thanks! I do wish the gmail app had the same pencil functionality as the apple mail app.
New to “Apple Pencil” (bought a dupe as couldn’t afford the real deal) also hubby just bought me iPad Air 5th gen &i I’ve just came upon your KZread channel, luv it, so incredibly informative, useful & much needed…… thank you so much!!
Some of these definitely blew my mind. Thanks for the tips!
I have been looking for this all day. Thank you very much.
awesome tips! and love that you had totoro on the background whilst filming
I Love these tips! Trying them with my new Apple Pencil for my iPad Air 4 now
Great tips, some I knew but some I didn't! Thanks for the video!
LOVE this video!
Great video m8. A lot of really useful tips here, thanks! 👍
Fantastic video thank you. I didn’t know any of these. Definitely going to check out your other hints and tips and share this…
I followed the instructions and it easily worked!
Good stuff! Excellent video. Thanks!
Accessible touch has a tap for screenshot, no weird combination of buttons just a tap. I’d love it if it could convert handwritten text on paper to text on the ipad. Thanks for your review, very tempted!
This is amazing, I just got my iPad mini 6th gen. and now planning to get me the pencil. thank you 🙏🏼
You just gave my Pencil new life. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for this video. I had my pencil for a few months and barely used it because I didn’t know how. My search for tips like how to erase, led me to you!
Awesome tips! Thank you so much!!
Probably not the most useful feature, but it is a cool thing to know. The pressure sensitivity of the apple pencil can be utilised to make navigation around your iPad marginally faster, when you would normally press and hold on something for a desired action (such as pressing and holding the brightness controls to access the true tone and night mode settings or pressing and holding on an app to display the options including the option to uninstall), pressing harder with the pencil will reduce the delay anywhere from normal delay (light press) to no delay at all (heavy press).
Great video! I love my Apple Pencil thanks for some tips that I did not know.
Great stuff. Thanks for this video.
Great video man. Solid refresher on the Pencil!

Great ideas in here. I already use them and I still enjoyed the video!
Thank you for the awesome tips!!!
Great video as usual thanks
The funny thing about using it more than a full size keyboard, is that it is true. I got the expensive magic keyboard and after a year of using my ipad I can honestly say I rarely used it. Just picked up a $20 slim case with a pencil holder and I prefer to use swipe with predictive text. Now if only Apple would give us back the split keyboard on Pro models...

Yeah I'm not into keyboards on an iPad either, my main case is just the smart folio from Apple!

I have the Magic Keyboard as well and don’t use it anymore, I use a keyboard for my iPad but a Bluetooth one so I can easily switch between keyboard and writing by hand with putting the keyboard next too me while my iPad is still in its case. And not having to take the iPad of the keyboard and having no protection while I write with my pencil.

Nice thank you :)
W. O. W. My favorite is the auto shape. Thanks brother.
In addition to the (frankly bloody handy) three finger swipes for undo & redo, I stumbled on the three finger tap to display a teeny, tiny undo/redo menu bar at the top of the screen, which I find useful if I’m having a little Undo Anxiety™. You all know what I’m talking about.
I just got the iPad Pro 12.9" 2021 model back in February, the pencil just a couple of weeks ago. I'm just learning the shortcuts the pencil has to offer and the biggest one I found helpful was the drawing of perfect shapes by holding down the pencil at the end of the drawing. This is neat.
Thanks for the tip mate, going to try this with my apple pencil tonight ✏👍

Love the video, I was pretty much enjoying the tv in the background 😂😂 what show is that?
I sure wished these tools like the ipad and apple pencil were available when I was studying, would have made the process absolutely enjoyable.

Agreed. I would have killed for these back at school or college!
If you’re writing in portrait mode, on a black screen (e.g. in Notes) in the left side margin (about 1 inch in), do you get screen glow / distortion as if you’re pressing down too hard ? No issue on right margin, just the left. iPad Pro 11 inch 2021
Nice Video. Wich app did you use for shape recognition? I hve the air and tried it out on notes and goodnotes 5 and couldn't replicate it. Beside that, have you ever tried the keybord from tipewise?
I sam likely goning to buy the ipad pro and pencil, your videos are very helpful.
Mind blown with screenshot
my parents just bought me an apple pencil, thank you for letting me know how to use it!! 😊😊Thanks!!!
I just subscribed 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 think I only used mine for shapes, sometimes writing and screenshots lol 😂 thought it was a waste of time buying it, cause I don’t draw or colour in . Thank you for showing me SO much more 🥰

You're welcome! and welcome to the channel too!
very useful tricks .. i personally use apple pencil for 2 year but i didn't know about this facts thanks bro
Thanks for the video, very informative. I'm looking to purchase a drawing pad or iPad predominately to use the pencil feature and freeform app to use in conjunction with a Mac mini but would like a iPad to brainstorm with (design) clients out and about. As funds are very low due to M2 purchase! Am I best off starting with a drawing pad and Apple Pencil to begin with? Also, what gen iPads offer all these cool drawing features, i.e should I avoid older models? I'm a bit lost with all this! Keep up the great work. Thanks.
Thank u for the tips.. do you have any video on signing documents and emails with apple pencil? Tnx
Thanks for the Pencil tips, and My Neighbor Totoro (となりのトトロ)
