Correction: Called by the Grave negates the effects until the end of the _next_ turn. I have won duels where my opponent tried to activate an effect, only to find out that since I called it last turn, it still gets negated this turn.

I dunno if I'd say Maxx "C" will EVENTUALLY get banned. It's been unlimited in the OCG for a long while, and Master Duel does kinda lean OCG-wards in its bans. I wouldn't be surprised if it did get banned, but I wouldn't say it getting banned is a sure thing.

Yeah, I agree, especially since there are many people like me who thinks Maxx C being at 3 is the best thing ever. To make me think banning Maxx C is a good thing, there would have to be major changes to the typical metas of the game, which would either take a very long time or require major changes to the game itself. Maybe one day there will be a format where I think Maxx C should be ban.

The fact that the best decks in the game are combo decks, even though Maxx "C" is unlimited, really shows that the problem (if there is one) with the current meta is NOT Maxx "C", and therefore it's not ban-worthy.

@@Tomix4k It doesn't show that at all, it simply shows that Maxx "C" isn't even doing the one thing it's supposed to do. The entire Maxx "C" tradeoff is that it keeps combo decks in check in exchange for introducing HUGE amounts of luck into the game through a card that basically is an autowin if it resolves. Given Maxx "C" isn't even doing the former, the only thing it actually does it means sometimes players steal wins without any skill because they were lucky enough to draw Maxx "C" - that's a HORRIBLE thing for a competitive card and shouldn't ever be playable

Non-handtrap event when? lol. And yeah Maxx don't need to be banned, I've played OCG more than TCG because OCG always had better balancing Imo and one of the major ones was the not banning of Maxx C unlike TCG. And I always fight any TCG player who tells me Maxx is broken because they simply don't understand it's purpose. The worst thing about OCG is new cards are out right away when in TCG they can sorta pre-errata or limit quicker based on their predictions for what they did in OCG but shrugs this is a minor thing since TCG never really does a good job with that and just lets in broken cards in anyway and take months to solve it which then just feels the same as OCG. Anyway I hope they stick the route of mostly OCG following ban-list but honestly I could see for sure them making a new format just for MD since it includes pretty much all cards and is universal to players so TCG and OCG players are currently playing it. Which then may sadly result in a ban of Maxx.

Called by the grave negates the banished monster's effect and other copies for 2 turns actually(activation turn+next turn). This is also why if you negate an ash with it you cannot ash your opponent during the next turn

@@HIRUMA59290 Yes, called by the grave would deny Ash effect thus enabling you to add a card from the deck but keep in mind that you won't be able to use Ash against your opponent

Top 10 spells/traps that can activate their effects from the graveyard could be an interesting list. Also Lightning Storm can still be played if you have cards on your field, you just can't play it if you control any *face-up* cards.

For Infinite Impermanence: Just like with Evenly Matched, you can still also use it during your own turn if you meet the conditions. So if you're going second, you can still activate Imperm from the hand to negate an opponent's monster for your turn. For Nibiru: It counts the number of monsters summoned, not the number of instances of summons. Ex. I was against a Tri-Brigade player and they used Revolt to summon Shuraig in response to me playing Harpie's, and then I just Nibiru'd them on my own turn. For Forbidden Droplet: Just make sure to not send spell/trap that say "When this is activated", since destroying/sending those cards _will_ negate their effects. This little bit of text also makes it so you can remove opponent's backrow with things like Twin Twister and still "negate". Typically only Field or Continuous cards have that bit of text, but always make sure to READ THE CARDS. For Called by the Grave: It negates for the current turn _and the next_, so if you negate an opponent's hand trap, you're also locking yourself out of that hand trap. Or if your opponent negates one of your cards, don't try to use that same card name during the next turn. And relating to chain-blocking, that little rules quirk is exactly why I like Droplet and Chalice so much, especially with Tri-Brigades being so prevalent. I've had several duels where my opponent uses Revolt to being out Shuraig on my turn, then uses the materials' floating effects to chain-block Shuraig's banish, but I just Chalice Shuraig from my hand and negate it anyway. From what I've read about OCG vs TCG on Maxx C: It's unlimited there because of the fundamentally different base play style of the OCG players, where they "play to not lose" rather than the TCG "play to win"; and they have far fewer combo decks in their metas _because_ Maxx C punishes combo so hard and is ran at 3 in _every_ deck.

You have to be careful with Droplet though and not use a continuous spell/trap. Even if the effect is a one off like Tenyi, continuous spell/traps need to stay on the field to resolve an effect.

Top 10 SR/R/N cards that are budget equivalents of cards on this list. Like Solemn Warning or Lightning Vortex. I like it because sometimes it’s possible to be bottlenecked on only UR *or* SR dust when crafting a new deck

Solemn scolding is better in my opion and is a rare so easily obtainable. However scolding is horrible in stall/backrows decks so judgement is the only viable option. But if you are running a combo deck with minimal backrow and want an extra negate it is a great budget option

Someone used Maxx C on me and I had Necrovalley and Supernaturalist on my board and filled my field with Gravekeeper's and the opponent had a bunch of cards by Maxx C and then I used Royal Tribute (my only card in my hand) and I watched my opponent discard all those monsters leaving them with empty hands. What cards it had? His whole hands were Eldlich and zombies. You can't fight Necrovalley with Zombies. You know what's funnier? He let me be first. He surrendered. :)

Maxx C is the way OCG making sure not all meta decks are combo decks. And since Master Duel follows OCG ban lists (for now), I don't see it being banned any time soon..

I mean, why repeat a point disproven so many times when it takes 2 seconds to check the topping decks in MD and realize they are all combo. While in the OCG to stop phantom knights they had to restrict: fusion destiny, crossout and torn scales. And now aside from branded, one of their best decks in brave tenyi can ss 50 times per turn between Tomahawk, auroradon, o-lion etc So, no, maxx "c" doesn't stop combo

With how Master Duel is being the best of one, the only cards that you don't need to go out of your way to craft is Nibiru and Accesscode Talker. I agree with most of these, these cards can certainly help turn the tide of the game, Ash and Maxx are the two must craft cards, while others you can at least find a weaker version or even achietype version of these cards until you have the spare UR to craft. Now I'd be interested to see the worst UR and SR cards in Master Duel, ones that should never be used and can be scraped

A little correction for Nibiru: it counts the amount of monsters, there are some card effects that summon multiple monsters at once and that count as 1 time (for example Pendulum summon), and Nibiru doesn't care about that, if 5 monsters hit the field at once, you can Nibiru it immediately.

Something that is a bit of a misinformation on Called By the Grave is that the negate effect lasts until the next turn. Something I usually forgot about the card since most of the negate effects only last for one turn. Called By lasts quite a bit hah. Stops my LiveTwin plays very well, this one card. And great video btw! Been watching your content stealthily, not much of a commenter but keep up the great work!

A quick correction, Called By the Grave actually blocks the effects of that banished monsters until the end of the NEXT turn. So you have to keep an eye for that in case, for example, you banish a Ash Blossom during your turn to keep your search, and then try to Ash blossom your opponent next turn. Your ash blossom will still be negated.

Another plus for Imperm is that you can use it on your first turn going second to break boards instead of disrupting their turn. Useful if you have they have a negate and you want to bait it out on imperm instead of your other plays.

Also Infinite Impermanence can be used during either player's turn from the hand as long as you have no cards. If you draw it as your 6th card you can use it straight away if you want. Veiler is locked to the opponent's main phase where as imperm can be used at any time

Not sure if anyone caught it, but impermanence isn't limited to just your opponent's turn. So long as you control no cards you can activate it from hand

I'll be honest, I'm crazy and tend to run through Maxx "C", especially when playing my Marincess deck. Sometimes it works out, and often I get close to decking out my opponent.

@@ultrajonny64 it's more that Malefics combo really well with Necrovalley and Gravekeepers. Malefics are an archetype of easily summonable boss monsters where only one can attack, and that need a field spell on the field at all times. It's sort of like how Paleozoics combo really well so they function like Frog support cards, Malefics function like the win condition in a Gravekeeper deck, if you want to go that route, anyway.

I agree with what some are people are saying, in that I doubt Maxx "C" will be banned. The game is mostly based off the OCG banlist, and there Maxx "C" is an iconic and meta-defining card that helps limit the existence of overly long combo meta decks and is a pretty simple way to do so (one of the reasons as an outsider interested in Yugioh, that I'm more interested in the OCG rules is because of stuff like that, I feel as an outsider that the TCG has some issues). In other words, I think it is too big of card for that to be banned and since it's never been banned in the OCG, I don't see it happening to Master Duel.

Top 10 cards with effects that were split into other cards. (Example: Winged dragon of Ra, Winged Dragon of Ra: Immortal Phoenix, Winged dragon of Ra: Sphere mode.)

Don't think so, since you just don't aim for them in the first place when building decks and slowly build your staple stash. you don't need 3 maxx c, 3 veilers, 3 ash, 3 imperm, 3 nibiru immediately Plan the deck, pull packs, any unwanted URs goes to the staple card funds and craft them when you need it for a deck.

2 times in the past week in master duel, I dropped maxx c and my opponent still continuted their jack/king/queen combo into 5 different Utopia cards that I end up with a 20+ hand on my turn and then win.

I only lose twice out of about 20 times I took maxx c challenge thanks to Kali Yuga lock them from using the field. If your combo deck cannot make mass stun, billions of negates, or win in one turn, don't take maxx c challenge.

Top ten support cards for certain types? Like fairy support or dragon support cards! Top ten alternatives to old school cards, focusing on specific cards, i think there was one on mst where you mentioned twin twisters or cosmic storm or somethin, but what about other old school staples like enemy controller, mirror force or compulsory evacuation device.

Fun Fact for those who up against Herald of Ultimateness: if you buy a Purple Poison Magician (SR) and use it as a spell, if they negate it and goes to the gy the 2nd effect activates which they cant stop, destroying (1) Herald.

Or… you can just play kaiju because the drytron could just choose not to negate the effect and even if they did they would just negate the second effect because the card doesn’t say it your opponent can’t respond to it and heralds can negate with in chains

Thing about solemn though, you can be really unlucky and lose after you play your solemn e.g. you thought you negated the strongest monster they summoned but then they proceed to reborn it and finish you off

If it's an extra deck monstet you can't reborn it if the summon got negated

Say, I thought of making a new extra-deck-summoning method where you pay up a number of LP, and the monster requirement, to special summon a monster from your extra deck. It’s called Persona Summoning. Essentially, you’re becoming a monster on the field. A Persona Monster has a set amount of LP equal to the LP requirement. Though, you can only have 1 Persona Monster on the field at a time.

Funnily enough, I went through the Deceitful Wings of Darkness pack for my Darklord deck and got 2 First Darklord but 0 Droplets.

I will say there is a down side to using max c in a specific scenario and that is it can make you draw out really fast if they have card destruction and they summoned a lot of cards which makes that a good counter to it kinda they still have a lot of cards but you do get rid of a lot of other cards and spell and traps are the hardest to get out of the gy but that’s my own little opinion on a disadvantage of max c

Top 10 viable decks with the fewest UR in Master Duel. Everyone else practically scrambled to get that info out, but now that the game has been out for awhile, I'd imagine some budget decks might have gone under the radar.

Thats pretty subjective too tbh. And might be thrown off by the "free" URs like Monster Reborn and 1 Ash. But theres a lot of f2p versions of stronger decks. You can make a cheap Sky Strikers deck thats viable with only 1 Engage and forbidden chalices. But youd rather have 2 and Forbidden Dropletts.

@@colmecolwag I mean... fair enough... though I'd probably fixate on archetypes alone, and whatever costs the least amount of UR CP. the idea is mainly inspired with this current N/R Festival, where I crafted the majority of D/D cards to try them out (none of the videos I've seen do a good enough job explaining how the deck starts out when learning it... just how it combos) now I'm currently trying to use Majespector as an engine of sorts, but I'm otherwise still fixated on using pendulums.

Lot of early master duel guides was giving guidelines on how to make a good f2p deck, although a lot of that also involved opening a lot of packs of that archtype too which helps the SR and UR needs there. Its also why I got Eldich and Sky Strikers decks. Sky Strikers strongest cards are limited or semi limited and Eldich just needs the big boy and 3 crafted skill drains to work well.

Ultra Rare book of explaining stuff to new players.

I’ve used Solemn Judgment to stop many Feather dusters against my Eldlich deck. Very useful card.

7:50 also it doesn't target so cards that can't be targeted are still in danger of being destroyed. Also it only can't have its summon negated or reacted to.

on the called by the grave part, it negates the monster with the same original name as the one it banish until the end of the *next* turn.

Btw to be pedantic, the "some reason" for some of the Master Duel banlists afaik is cause it's using a old OCG banlist, and as you know, Maxx C for example is not banned there.

Its important to mention (though everyone probably knows) that solemn judgement also becomes increasingly cheaper as you lose lifepoints. Also lightning storm only requires you control no face up cards. Not trynna be a weirdo or nothing like that. Just for the sake of people knowing is all

The only ones I don't have in my dinosaur deck or at all are Veiler and Droplet. I've enough points to make one UR, but I've seven URs on a short list for future projects; I might just cave and make Droplet. I lose count of how times Lightning Storm has been a brick when I need to destroy stuff, and I hate how Maxx C is a necessity. There's so many decks where there's no point in trying to play if you go second and don't have Nibiru or Maxx C, I don't know what I'll do if they do ban it.

Oddly, imperm is one of those rare cards that needs to remain until resolution to fizzle a column. I know because an "mst negates" moment won me a game once. To be fair, the opponent probably didn't count on my ace combo: reading and comprehension.

This might be a little difficult but what about Top 10 Least Powerful UR’s in Master Duel. I find it particularly hillarious that, as far as master duel is concerned, cards like Mathematician and Tri and Guess are just as valuable as Evenly Matched and Accesscode Talker

TBH if they banned Maxx C, they'd have to ban a lot of the drytron/herald cards, tri brigade cards, virutal world cards, ext.... Basically they'd have to revert the meta back to syncro or xyz era levels of power. The fact the game meta is based around Ash isn't very healthy either tbh.

Yes bro I agree. I don’t know why they never just made it TCG. It’s literally the same deck you face every game and it’s getting boring. I can’t even play regular decks, it’s like your forced to use these cheesy meta cards just to stand a chance

The biggest contributing card to the meta being so Ash heavy is Maxx "C" lol. And Maxx "C" doesn't even keep the big combo decks in check anyway cos they can play it too - overall it benefits meta decks MORE than rogue options. Just ban Maxx "C"

@@KaitlynFedrick exactly but all the people defending maxx c dont want to acknowledge that they like to pretend that only the rogue decks use it and is a perfect counter to meta combo decks yet will still sit here and complain about those same decks. you ever played against a drytron that set up a full board and then used maxx c on your turn even after you used droplet? its a very miserable experience

Correction on Lightning Storm. You have to control no FACE UP CARDS to use it.

Most good decks don't have a chokepoint, you need to learn their plays and try to get a read on their hand to know when to use your disruptions

My favorite thing in Master Duel is when someone activates Maxx C in response to me playing Pot of Duality...you know...the pot card where you *can't* special summon the turn you use it....

Surprisingly, TheDuelLogs doesn't have a "top 10 best searchers" video yet. Lots of similar ones, or ones that includes searching in some way, but never the best searchers
