Plankton is terrifying!

I know Gus was a villain for Breaking Bad's sake, but I didn't "hate" him, in fact i liked his character more than Walters. Yes he was ruthless, but with bad people, the ones that killed his friend/lover/brother (depends on who you ask), while being friendly with his customers and employees. Being so calculating but at the same time calm and cool was chilling and made him my favorite character alongside mike.

Mike is the furthest thing from a psychopath lol. Hell, even Gus isn't a real psychopath. They feel real emotions and can empathize with the emotions of others. Mike's guilt over his son's death and Werner signifies that along with his bond with Jesse, seeing himself in Walter, etc. With Gus is a bit more complex@@anonymouswhite352

Honestly, I think the reason I love villains, or the good ones, is they make the plot more intriguing. When they die, I feel a sudden need to cry when I realize there won't be any REALLY good episodes for a while. But, the exception is when writers pull that 'the villain didn't really die' trick. It usually goes like this: the episode is ready to end, a pretty normal episode at that. Out of no where, that 'dead' villain will show up behind a main character (usually the arch nemesis). Main character makes the "fuck no" face when they turn around to see said villain. The villain then smiles and says, Hello, (insert main character's name here). Credits roll down with suspenseful music. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen that be played in TV shows.

Well in the books he was not as terrible as in the show (talking about the character lore) but he was just like cruel with out a real reason to be. Tywin in the otrher hand was a threat, as good as the "heroes" that challenge him. Joffrey was weak compare to Tywin (or his enemies)

Vincent Thomas Thats why i put the () ... i started talking about the lore that his creator made for him. In the series he is the most hated villain, but not the best, Cersei is worst than him. Ramsey is worst, but he´s like Roose Bolton, he just do what they told him to do. The mountain in that case would be the worst villian in the whole story.

It's an ok series, just way too much drama for z-apocalyptic world. I admit though character development would be hard to integrate in a zombie series while still making a believable zombie survival world.

Jeff M Actually, BBC's tv show In The Flesh shows a z-apocalyptic with a lot of GOOD character development and GOOD drama. The Walking Dead is, by far, the overrated tv show EVER. Every season, since season 1, had 13 episodes, but nothing happens on at least 10 episodes, and people just think this show is amazing. Really? The shows will have more than 10 seasons of NOTHING, which a bunch of people running here to there, with no point. It's stupid.

Wait. Tywin Lannister a villain? Who ever made this list doesn't watch GoT clearly, Tywin isn't a villain and the shows biggest villain by far, is Joffrey. Even Ramsey and of course Petyr Baelish are far bigger villains than Tywin. And does Hannibal count as an anti-hero or something? Because if not he should be in the top 10 for sure, Hannibal is a great show.

T-Bag remains one of my favorite villains on TV, you can not help but support it at several times (especially considering its horrible past) because he's always adapting and sometimes really funny. Now you have to add Negan to the list, and I'd also add Jerome/Jeremiah Valeska from Gotham (Dexter is more a anti-hero than a vilain)

I like that they chose Tywin. Joffrey and Ramsay are evil, but.... in the end, they are both just stupid, violent, and trigger-happy. Tywin is actually intelligent and calculating and his character has way more dimensions than Joff or Ramsay. He does everything to protect his family's money and reputation, while the other two are just straight-up psychopaths.

Game of Thrones doesn't really have heroes or villains. Just people trying to reach an end that benefits them and theirs. You know different POV's

Abby Muraski Anthony Hopkins is a better actor, but mads is a better hannibal. Never imagined hannibal as the type to be openly psychotic, but a caged animal. Mads is a really good actor, maybe not in terms of line delivery, but in body language and facial expressions he's an ace. Mads>hopkins. Don't get me wrong though, Mads *could not* have pulled off what hopkins did in the 20 minutes he was on screen. Mads has been on screen for 2 seasons. But in my opinion the effect of mads' character is gradual while hopkins was all in your face. And mads' character development is basically a tank at this point.

SpeakOfTheDevil I don't want to go into the technicalities of it, but I think Hopkins fit the role better. But I've also been a fan of the books and movies for a very long time, years before the show came out, so I'm definitely biased. I don't have a problem with Mads, or think he's an awful Hannibal. I won't bash him. But Hopkins' performances in Red Dragon and Hannibal were outstanding, and his role in Silence of the Lambs raised the bar extremely high in my opinion. But then again, that's just my opinion. I understand everyone has a different opinion, and I assure you, I'm not trying to suggest that you're wrong in any way.

Really you didn't include the MASTER from Dr Who, one of the greatest and longest running villans of all time, title says TV villains not American TV Villains

Dude, Doctor Who is probably even more popular in America now than in the UK, and most of the villains in Doctor Who are very cliché anyway. Also, I don't know if you've noticed, but Sherlock is a BBC Steven Moffat show, and Moriarty from Sherlock is at the top of this list.

Really! Dr Who MINISCULE! Dr Who is one of the longest running TV shows EVER and you're calling it MINISCULE! Over 600 people WORLDWIDE watch Dr Who! It has the best protagonist in any TV show, the best storyline I've ever seen and its funny. So many TV shows nowadays are so serious and full of themselves *coughs* Game of Thrones*coughs* but Dr Who is just full of wonder and adventure and excitement. And also "not miniscule shows from other countries" Sherlock is British, Game of Thrones has mostly British actors in it and the first director of Dr Who? AMERICAN!

Also, it's called opinions, and I loved Isaak, he had good intentions, he was in love, in the end, he decided to give in. After he was shot, he let himself die. I admire him, he had the best set of values I have ever seen. Also, Arthur was just an asshole, though he was entertaining to watch. Also, The Walking Dead is so shit aswell, The Governor was (again) the ONLY good character in the show. I skipped season 2 and I stopped watching after Philip died. Hershel was cool, but he died aswell. Breaking Bad, I haven't watched so I wouldn't know, and Game of thrones looks like LOTR with porn. But I haven't watched that either.

Wish they would of included Crowley from Supernatural atleast as an honourable mention.

As someone who hasn’t fully completed, The Walking Dead, Negan should probably be number one even though he’s changed he was a villain at one point and when he was, he was never one he was so fucking ruthless. It just made him perfect for number one.

Jaden Nava Ramsey is not a main villain. Hes a sub villain for Reek, Roose is a bigger villain than him. Ramsey has a smaller importance on the plot and has only gotten about half the screentime of Joffrey. Cersei will always be the main villain of Game of thrones (Tywin is dead) but Joffrey was a main villain until his death. He killed the main character, Ros, and started the whole war and his death was the turning point for Kings Landing. Ramsey has had very little influence on the whole story

The Master was definitely better than most of the villains on this list. He turned every goddamn human being on planet Earth into himself and didn't even get in the honorable mentions. I'm also surprised they didn't count Lorne Malvo from Fargo. Moriarty deserves to be number one, but Malvo was so freakin' awesome. He should've at least be number five or something.

***** He's not the protagonist midway through season 4 and all of season 5, that belongs to Hank and Jesse. I'll settle for anti-hero. But don't let the typical narrative structure dictate who's who. This show breaks all the normality of that structure, and that's why the show is so great.

RYNOTVPLUS3 Yeah and in serving only himself he started the entire chain of events that lead to everyone's death so far. Just so he can be in power. Without him Jon Aerryn wouldn't have died, Ned Stark would still be in Winterfell with his family, the Tullys would still rule over Riverrun, and the war of the five kings would never have happened. Petyr Baelish is single-handedly responsible for the deaths of millions! An Anti-Hero? You have to be joking. The guy is probably the most dangerous villain in the show and the only one who saw it coming was Varys and nobody believed him.

Cyber-Funk You can say that Varys pulls all the strings, or the Tyrells, or Pycell, or the Iron Bank, there's a lot of them. Baelish pretty much gives his position in kings landing up, he's not really a person of power, more of a guy that people rely on to do things and therefore has a lot of influence over people of power. Physically, as a Lord, he's pretty damn poor and doesn't own much.

Did you guys not watch seasons four and five of The Wire? Avon and Stringer were definitely ruthless, but how are you going to put them over Marlo Stanfield. Marlo probably deserves to be on the list even. He has no emotion. His motives and quantities of murders are horrifying. He seeks the tutelage of Prop Joe, then once he knows everything he needs to know, He kills him. He has a security guard killed because he called him out for shoplifting. He kills people for no reason half of the time. Stringer and Avon were at least people with emotions and had their limits. Marlo had no emotion at all and just killed anyone got in his way or annoyed him to become the king of the Baltimore drug trade.

I was happy he was just mentioned to be honest. The first and second season he was quite cool, but the third and fourth where they talked about his mummy issues to death and just ruined the character by making him too much of a focus killed his potential to be on the list. Plus he was involved with the stupidest plot point seen in the show where he was stuck in Matts head.

Tywin shuld be number 1 for kilin Tyrion. RIP sweet prince. Tyrion an jon snow were the best an they both died in the same episode :,(

I hated him. The actor was horrid in my opinion (just like most of the actors in Heroes) and he was more annoyingly creepy then he was evil.

All those complaining Joffrey should have taken Tywin Lannister's place. I disagree completely. Tywin is a very cunning, almost emotionless & dangerous leader who if he wanted: could raise an army on King's Landing & wipe out that boy king before a man could blink. Even in the show just look at those 2 seasons he wiped his ass with Joffrey. Jack Gleeson portrayed Joffrey very well, & made him far more evil than in the books, but he's got NOTHING on Tywin Lannister, despite being compared to Aerys (the mad king)

Dude, Joffrey isn't a villain. He's a prick, and he's annoying, but he's far from the most evil person in the series. The adult Lannisters wage a war on the Starks. Stannis Baratheon cheats on his wife(with her knowledge and consent) and kills his brother. Walder Frey stages a wedding and then slaughters his wedding guests. What does Joffrey do? Well, he beats prostitutes and shoots them. But anyone who actually watches the show knows that while Joffrey was in power, Tywin was the real ruler.
