TOP 10 TRAVELTIPS MEXICO - YUCATÁN - COZUMEL - TULUM - VALLODOLID - ISLA MUJERES - ISLA HOLBOX

Yucatán
1. Cozumel
Beautiful crystal clear blue water and diverse coral reefs. A dream for snorkeling and scuba diving. Boat excursions and snorkeling tours will bring you to the reefs. Don't miss El Cielo, where you can swim with rays or eaglerays and you can stand in the water with a cocktail in your hand. For the best tacos (for a small price) you have to go to the local restaurant JOE'S.
2. Tulum - Zona Hotelera
Along the coast of Tulum you find a long strip, the Tulum Hotel Zone. There are a lot of beach clubs and hotels with a nice vibe. You can only acces the beach through hotels and beach clubs, but for a minimal spend you can enjoy the facilities. We loved our stay at Hotel Coco. Experience the nightlife of Tulum. Beach club Vagalume was amazing as well as the party Summerians.
3. Tulum - Public beaches
To reduce costs you can stay in Tulum Pueblo. We chose to stay at the free hostel. A nice vibe where you can easily meet people and use the bike for free. The free hostel is close to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum and the beautiful public beaches. We advice to go to the beach by bike (there are almost no parking spaces). Playa Santa Fe and Playa Paraiso were our favorites. You can choose to enjoy the beach with your feet in the sand and buy food and drinks from the sellers (from luxury wraps to brownies) or enjoy the live music at one of the beach bars.
4. Mayan ruins of Tulum
The Mayan ruins in Tulum, are a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the gorgeous Riviera Maya. Built as a seaport fortress with steep cliffs and limestone walls, the ancient city is one of the best-preserved coastal Maya sites in Mexico, which still stands after more than 800 years. It's necessary to park your car at the shopping center's parking lot, from there it is still 1 km by foot or take the small train. From the Free Hostel its only 4 minutes by bike. The best time to arrive is early in the morning.
5. Cenotes
In Yucatán you must visit one cenote. The view is breathtaking and the cool water is very refreshing. Cenote Ik Kil and Cenote Samula were our favorites!
6. Chichén Itzá
Since the Chichén Itzá is one of the wonders of the world, you should not miss this one! Chichén Itzá was one of the most important Mayan cities, and also the pyramid of Kukulcán is located there.
7. Uh May - Azulik
Enjoy a creative journey nestled in the deep lush of the Mayan jungle. A harmonious space to discover the creative self. Explore its endless possibilities and the amazing art.
8. Valladolid
Surrounded by cenotes and ruins, Valladolid is one of our favorite stops on any trip through the Yucatán. It's a quiet city with beautiful pastel buildings. The bright churches is a reminder of its colonial history. Enjoy the delicious (and cheap) tacos at La de Enmedio and the fantastic desserts and a great view at the terrace of restaurant Don Diablo
9. Isla Mujeres
Discover this small island by golf cart. Visit Playa Norte a beautiful beach with white sand and clear blue water. Relax at Zama Beach Club (for a minimum spent you can enjoy the facilities like the pool).
10. Isla Holbox
Explore the island by bike or golf cart Take a walk at Punta Mosquito to enjoy the crystallines waters and the company of pink flamingo's. Enjoy the laid-back vibe with delicious Lobster pizza and sushi at the Foodie Market. Finally enjoy the nightlife.
